All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.
Ok then, I'll see your Coltrane Standard (actually Guy Wood and Robert Mellin)(don't be impressed, that part I had to look up) and raise you a Mingus Classic.
And while I'm at it, I also raise a glass of Wild Turkey to you as well

I think we've mentioned before that the Coltrane-Hartmann album is one of the most beautiful ever recorded
I wish Coltrane had recorded more stuff like this.
It's like finding out your favorite gospel singer is hotter leaning on a piano emoting 'Birds do it....'
Epa,
I don't remember discussing that, but I agree with you.
I am a Coltrane lover. If my wife and I had had a son, we were going to name him Coltrane, and call him Coal.
I love Coltrane most hardcore/outthere music; the stuff from 1965-67 is my favorite.
However, as you say, it is amazing to find that his album with Johnny Hartman is right up there with the stuff I love the most.
MR,
Check out Chris Botti.
I am a lover of Chuck Mangione.
I'm starting to think I might love Chris Botti' style just as much.
Yep, I remember the conversation because I bought the Coltrane/Hartman album because of it. And have never been sorry.
I like Mangione as well but have never listened to Botti much. So I'll take your advice.
