Maher: Media 'Way Too Stupid' to Understand Israel/Palestine Conflict, So They Side with the Palestinians

It wasn't us who said this. Instead, it's one of their own - an outspoken openly liberal talk show with a cynical view of the mainstream media.
On the June 11 Web portion of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" called "Overtime," Newsweek editor Jon Meacham offered the argument there is not a pro-Israel bias in the media, which is often alleged.
"The idea that there is a pro-Israeli bias in the broad media - whatever ‘the media' means at this point, I strongly disagree with," Meacham said. "I think if anything you run into a very strong feeling on the Palestinian side."
That led another panelist on Maher's show, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow to protest by asking who is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel in politics or media.
"Who speaks out publicly in a pro-Palestinian, anti-Israeli way in mainstream American politics, or media?" Maddow asked.
Aside from the obvious answer - Helen Thomas, the media have attacked Israel time and time and time again. (One might suggest Maddow spend some time reading NewsBusters if she is looking for answers.) However, that prompted Maher to say the media are anti-Israel, pro-Palestine. And he offered a reason why. [Emphasis added]
"I think most of them do because I think the media, to take up your point, mostly - is way too stupid to understand the issues," Maher said. "So what they do is they go toward, ‘Oh, who's a victim?' And yes, their situation in Gaza is tragic. But partly it is tragic of their own making."

You know, I disagree with Bill Maher on a lot of things, but this just shows that the claim that he's the dumbest man in America is false. A lot of otherwise very smart people, don't get the Palestinian Israel conflict at all.
THAT left will silently nod and think, well, he's one of THEM isn't he?
But the truth is, in the case of the Jews, the gallows doth NOT wonderfully concentrate the mind.
They voted for Obama en masse.
Okay, I'll say it again, Bill does a great job in showing Islam for what it is: totalitarianism. Don't throw the Bill out with the bathwater, completely!
I'll post here, what I posed at WZ, cause I thought his discussion with "Queenie Noor," which came at the beginning of the show, was sublime. And by way of explanation, most folks on WZ HATE him, unequivocally, which is stupid, and dumb, which means stupid:)

Oh yeah, I loved it when he asked “Queen Noor” why he had to call her “Her Majesty,” how phony royal titles were! That was a nice start Bill, … but when she declared that her husband was a direct descendent of Moehammy, that pedophile and murderous thug, why didn’t you ask her how she would be proud of such a thing? Bill you really could have discredited this “prophet” of thugs by pointing out the horrible psychopath he was!
Did love how Bill sarc told her how her “hair” was perfect! That was great! Her and Rania, the only Muslim women in the world who can’t be beaten or beheaded for not wearing a headscarf! Rank has its priviledge.
Also, I loved how he took her to task for Jordan not trying to solve the Palestinian “problem” when they controlled Gaza. He got a few jabs in.
I bet it really kills Lisa that her son has lost any right of ascension to the throne. She’s been marginalized by BEAutiful Rania as well, who is quite the activist. I’m actually really surprised “Queen Noor” stays as faithful to Jordan and Islam after her husband humiliated her by having an affair/affairs? prior to his illness, … wouldn’t put it past her to be plotting some way her son could/will be king:)

And, if anyone has ever heard my radio show, they would know, I give Islam big time shit. No one pours it on harder than I do. The Infidel Bloggers Alliance Radio Show earned it's fatwas.
Now, the reason I say that is, with that this past week, my co-host and I were talking about the media and their absence on the Ground Zero Mosque story.

I admire those three.
All three are leftie types. South Park agrees with Righties on many issues, but in general South Park is more left than right.
Why is it that no other right wing source is willing to really lay it on Islam.
Islam deserves no respect. It does not even really deserve the respectful intellectual critique Robert Spencer gives it. That is not a criticism of Spencer. I admire Spencer and am thankful he does what he does, because it is, ultimately, necessary.
But, quite frankly, doing an intellectual critique of Islam is like doing an intellectual critique of a serial killer telling scatological jokes. It's just fucking stupid. Page upon page of stupidity.
That's why Father Zakaria apologizes for the things he must say when he talks about Islam. Because it is fucking embarrassing.

Micheal Savage really hates Islam as well, and really disses Islam, and he's a conservative, In fact, based on some of the stuff he has written and said over the years, we can safely say, he's more conservative then many of the people on this blog. That includes the two of us by the way. Also, from what I understand, for the most part South Park is neither left wing or right wing, but libertarian. I even remember a group of libertarians praising the show for being libertarian.
Yeah, you're right about Savage. I'm not much of a fan.
Here's the thing, there are many people who are critical of Islam, and there are people are willing to tell the truth about Islam. But, the ultimate truth is, Islam is such a sick political-religio ideology that it deserves no respect whatsoever. And so, the best thing anyone can do is talk about without any respect.
Would we talk about Nazism with respect? Would we study their ideology as if it was worthy? Would we talk about the Ku Klux Klan's ideology with respect? Would we honor their symbols, and make sure not to offend?
No, we wouldn't.
And, neither should we show any respect to Islam.
