Throw the Book At Him, Philly Style

Yessirree it must have been one helluva rally, one big fucking deal, down the road yesterday.

Mr. President showed up with some unexpected, um, entertainment.

First, not to be outdone by shoe dodging Bush, he is narrowly missed by a book thrown at him.

Since no one knows whodunnit it's safe to say there are a fair number of Secret Service employees likely to be swelling the ranks of the unemployed for letting someone get a projectile this close to The Scapegoater in Chief. Hey, maybe I could get a job with them if they're looking for help.

But even more, precious few news outlets have reported on this incident. You think it might have gotten more coverage if it had been a Burning Koran tossed his way?

Then this fellow shows up. Must be Barack's way of diverting attention from his message. Either that or the guy is applying for IBA Infidel Hunk of the Week.

I can't imagine why they're arresting this guy. He certainly isn't concealing any weapons and if he is I really DON'T want to know where or how. Poor dude is just trying to get out the vote. Or get laid.

And of course BO took time to remind us that, even though it's been declared the last recession ended in July 2009 so anything new is on his watch, it is still because the Republicans messed up so bad that we're in the mess we're in.

But the only Rally that REALLY matters in Philly today is The Phils sweeping the Reds to move on to the National League Championship Series.

Sure they may not have deserved to win Friday night's game, it wasn't their playing as much as the Reds' screwups, but we'll take it anyway.
