Forget politics for a minute.
The man doesn't look well:
In fact, if you watch the video, you might notice, as I did, that Obama's right eye isn't centered all the time. In fact, his right eye is rolling inward; his left eye is behaving normally and not rolling inward.
I tend to notice eye issues because (1) I've had two cataract surgeries and (2) Mr. AOW has trouble with one of his eyes rolling a bit since his stroke of September 15, 2009.
Was Obama hung over when he taped that New Year's message? Or was something else going on?

I despise The One as much as anybody here, but if he is under severe stress, or sleep deprivation, or worse has some sort of medical problem, diagnosed or otherwise...well this is just going to make the situation even worse.
Interesting. Abercrombie suddenly makes headlines with his bleeding heart plea to 'restore respect' to his sudden recollections of Dunham's giving birth just prior to the 2010 Christmas vacay on the Islands where - as coincidence has it -- "O" has a multi car escort to his old friends place.
Given the era of Abercrombie and Dunham was the era of free love and drugs, one can only imagine the pah-rty "O" partook in.

Note how he pronounces the words, "We are, however, ..." at :30 seconds in.
Overall, however, I don't think he looks too bad. I don't think that light violet shirt helps his skin color. And, the heavy eyelid thing takes place, from what I see, when he is blinking. He does blink rather slowly, though.
Notice he said, "We've had the good fortune to grow up in the greatest nation on Earth."
Is this allusion to American Exceptionalism a completely new thing for him, or have I just missed it in the past?

His sudden support of American exceptionalism is indeed new for Obama. To my knowledge, books and his speeches have never included that idea.
I think that BHO does look bad. He's in full makeup, right?

By the way, let me be clear, I am not summarily dismissing what you write.
You are certainly correct to observe that he doesn't look on his game, and that running, suddenly, out of rooms, which is his habit, is a sign of cocaine use.

BHO has been on vacation. Why does he look so haggard and distracted? I noted the lack of affect in the video, too, as well as the one spliced portion.

Good to know. LOL. I don't post here at IBA as often as I'd like -- because of circumstances here in this household.
As for cocaine use, I'm more and more convinced that BHO has an issue with that. Can't prove it, of course, but my gut tells me that such is the case.
And what is that scar on his head?
