It was a beautiful fall day, wasn't it? That's what everyone says. The crisp air that morning. Clear mile high blue skies.

I was still dealing with Lyme disease and my course of doxycycline so maybe I didn't appreciate the day as much as usual. or maybe it was just another day at work.

We had been having a small yet particularly irksome and persistent problem within the call center ACD. The Williams tech was on site working with me to resolve it.

I was in the middle of large 2 year project in Valley Forge, at Unum. I drove on from the hotel listening to Imus talk to McCain about Saddam. Imus said "Senator, why don't we just kill them them all?"

2 hours later no one showed up for a very important milestone meeting we had scheduled and I got totally pissed off. As I picked up the extension to dail one of teh VP's there, my cell rang and it was my daughter who was going to Simmons in Boston, who told me 'the world trade center had fallen down'. I told her that was ridiculous.

I was on my way to work. Having woke up late that day, I was very tired. I was fifteen minutes into my commute when I finally woke up enough to turn on the radio. Howard Stern was ranting about planes flying into buildings, the Pentagon, maybe the White House, 20 jets missing, targets included Burbank where I worked at the time.

So, I called my wife to ask her if this was real.

She turned on the TV and told me what she saw.
