These women were kidnapped, kept prisoner in the house, not allowed to leave unless supervised by one of the men, not allowed to be educated, not allowed to choose what to wear, not allowed to have friends, and, more than anything, not allowed to exercise their Freedom of Choice over any part of their lives.
In other words, what we call kidnapping and a life of horrific abuse, is what women in much of the Muslim world call marriage.

You left out the part about being forced to have sex whenever the owner want. ODn't forget there is no such thing as marital rape in Islam.

If my trope somehow got out into the general public, Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews would turn it around and say this was Christian marriage.
