Obviously this is not an issue which breaks easily down the left-right line which exists in our heads.
I see those whose value personal freedoms and autonomy and those who value the safety of the physical self and the protection of the state, and it’s ability to preserve what they see as national security.
There are thinking people on both sides of this, as there are when we consider the left-right values sets.
There are sickos as well, but the majority of those taking positions are NOT evil, or ill intentioned.
Attention should be paid.

Yep.
This is why, personally, I am happy Snowden has kicked up the shitstorm, even if I don't like Snowden, or even believe he has anything of substance to actually share.
Notice nothing has really come out yet, except a bunch of really big threats.
I think they would have led with the worst stuff, if they had anything.
I see this as a check on our constitutional rights.
Even if nothing big comes out of it, it has caused people to open their eyes and pay attention.
I and many others do not trust this administration considering everything that has come out.
How can we trust them to follow the law or our constitution rights with this NSA stuff?
We can't. That is why I am glad that Snowden came out with this.
I understand this was started under the Bush administration. Is there any way to find out how the Obama administration built on or intensified the surveillance?
