The VERY Interesting layer cake of Edward Snowden

Chinese Spy?
Sam Adams?
One of the most sophisticated intelligence operations of all time? THink how well the Chinese would have to understand the USA to unleash this.
We have Andrew McCarthy at NRO arguing the govt needs the power, and the problem is ‘JUST’ Obama.
We have Robert Baer arguing this guy REALLY might be a Chinese spy (he is claiming China is not an enemy … he won’t like it there if he defects, I promise you). But did the Chinese not know all this stuff?
We have the argument that power granted in this way will ALWAYS BE ABUSED sooner or later by power.
“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”
― Thomas Jefferson
We have the argument without this power we cannot be made safe.
“I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.”
― Thomas Jefferson
Sorry but I have to say the Bill of Rights DOES preclude the govt from doing what it is doing, despite the decisions Mr. McCarthy quotes in his arguments. It is precluded PRECISELY because of the manifest abuses this administration has evinced. Sooner or later there would have been this administration as a Republican admin as well.
HUMAN NATURE.
That’s why we have the Bill of Rights.
“I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
― Thomas Jefferson
More and more, it’s obvious how incredibly wise the Founders were. Sorry John, bust especially Thomas.
“When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.”
― Thomas Jefferson
