Some people I just can’t help liking : Carville, Beckel

Well if Mary Matalin can STAND him, you just tip your hat and laugh along.
Beckel? First give the man his props for clear thinking about the use of political power. I am PRETTY SURE Beckel was the guy who stated it was legal for Gore to BUY electors in 2000 to break the CHAD logjam in Florida. Disgusting but perfectly legal. You just have to shake your head and go ‘whew’.
Beckel also has served in several admins as an asst sec of state.
Today he is the Liberal Chair on THE FIVE on Fox and has found a new value in patience. He also takes no shit from people he disagrees with, including demanding no more mosques in the USA until muslims are out in the street raging against Islamist violence and decrying BOTH bitter partisan speech from dems as well as repubs, and Obama WHEN CLEARLY NEEDED.

Fox News’ Beckel: WH Called to ‘Bludgeon’ Me for Backing Obamacare Delay

"I got a call from somebody at the White House who absolutely bludgeoned me over it."

On Fox News on Tuesday morning, former Democratic campaign advisor Bob Beckel stated that after he criticized Obamacare on air, he received an angry call direct from the White House. “The other day on The Five, I called for a delay of the implementation of this from six months to a year, and I got a call from somebody at the White House who absolutely bludgeoned me over it,” Beckel explained. Beckel stood by his position, saying that the website was a portal to healthcare, and that if people did not use it, or the website was broken, they might not return.
This is hardly the first circumstance of the White House calling adverse journalists or pundits and reading them the riot act for failing to echo White House positions. Back in February 2013, iconic journalist Bob Woodward stated that the Obama administration had contacted him and told him that he would “regret” it if he did not change his position on sequestration. The National Journal’s Ron Fournier admitted to similar treatment. So did former Clinton lawyer Lanny Davis.
Beckel is like an old union guy who knows something is just not right but still thinks we need unions the way we did because otherwise things would end up like the Homestead Mill.
It’s possible that’s right. Bu that’s the OTHER end of the pendulum from today’s momentum.
