Commenter Passthegreypouponplease in the Washington Post while decrying Israel AND KSa controlling US foreign policy, in comments on a column by David Ignatius.
The volume, stridency and bitterness of the complaints against Israel in the comments sections, mostly about Israel being no friend, wanting war or controlling US policy are so strident it’s hard not to wonder the real question of anti Israeli attitude in the USA.
Especially when so many comments are about Israel firsters, and control of US foreign policy
One example of the fantasy world inside the minds of these people:
The Arabs and the Israeli’s have been poor partners in anything and everything. Time to put the Iranian revolution behind us and start to rebuild the relationship that we had beforehand with the Iranians. They and we have similar interests in south west Asia. Letting the Arabs and the Israeli’s dictate Middle Eastern Policy is a continued loser. Turkey, Iran and India could be reliable partners in a very troubled region.
Reminds me of those who keep on talking about all those substandard policies that have been cancelled.
Here’s another ‘idea’ by a very ‘liked’ commenter
Saudi Arabia and Israel are against the deal with Iran because they want war and they want the U.S. fight the war for them. That is enough reason to conclude a deal (with Iran)It’s too bad so many in the U.S. Congress put Israeli demands ahead of American interests, but it is a good thing we have a President in Barack Obama who puts American interests first. If we had been saddled with an “Israel firster” such as Mitt Romney, we’d probably be ramping up for war right now.
DELUSIONS!
