the chabad folks are great. my heart goes out to them.
Gothamist has more, including update from JP suggesting (as expected SOP) this was "not (a) terror related" incident.
"JP Updates now says that police don't think the incident was terror-related, believing Peters to be an emotionally disturbed person: "[Deputy Commissioner John Miller] did say, however, that the NYPD will increase its presence outside synagogues and Jewish institutions as protection."
So they admit the Jewish community needs additional taxpayer funded security....but it has nothing to do with JIM/terrorism.
