Putin Associate and Founder/Creator of Russia Today News Found Dead in D.C. Hotel - D.C. Metro Police Investigating

Call me crazy, but I think it's strange that the D.C. Metro Police are being trusted with the death of such a high-profile foreign citizen on our soil

Hmm. Very odd.

From ABC News:
A prominent Russian millionaire with high-level ties to the Kremlin has been found dead inside a Washington hotel, a Russian official and a senior U.S. official told ABC News.
Mikhail Lesin, the former head of media affairs for the Russian government who's been accused of curtailing the country’s press freedoms, had been staying at Hotel Dupont when he was found Thursday, according to officials.
It's unclear why the long-time adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin was in Washington, but the Metropolitan Police Department is now investigating his death.
On Thursday, U.S. authorities notified the Russian embassy in Washington that one of its citizens had died, and Russian officials are now working with American authorities to determine the circumstances of the death, the embassy told ABC News in a statement.
Citing an ongoing investigation, an MPD spokesman would only confirm the department is conducting a “death investigation."
Lesin is credited with creating Russia Today, the English-language news network backed by the Russian government. Now known as RT, the network “provides an alternative perspective on major global events, and acquaints an international audience with the Russian viewpoint,” according to its website.
Lesin “led the Kremlin’s efforts to censor Russia’s independent television outlets,” one U.S. lawmaker charged last year.
It's almost as if our government doesn't want to find out how the man died.

Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks this is suspicious. Here are some comments from the ABC News page:
I find it interesting that the journalists chose to leave out the fact that this Putin crony was on the sanctions list and banned from travel to the United States and most of Europe.
I suppose the omission was at the request of the FBI or the State Department, but I see no legitimate reason such a request should have been honored. Inviting a sanctioned individual to the United States would be a federal crime...even if his mission was supposed to be diplomatic.
There's the story you need to look into, journalists.

My two cents? The guy was a spy, his title would have been Minister of Propaganda in the good ol' days. He graduated his operation, but got greedy and sold secrets to the Americans, which is why Holder wouldn't investigate him. He slung H stateside for money to fund Russian operations, giving the Americans a cut, but he also sold secrets, got caught, and they made it look like a heart attack and only a specific forensic investigation can find it. The MPD is investigating the death to ensure such an investigation remains superficial for the press. He got got right here on American soil to prove he couldn't be safe here. Quite the tight ship Putin runs. He can even get a sleazy American asset here. Maybe even used our guys to do it, the same guys running his heroin business to fund American operations with their cut, and took the hit job to get paid. They probably sell secrets to the Russians, too. Oh, it's a hall of mirrors with so many levels. Or I just read too many spy novels. Whatev ...
My wacky-assed guess: Obama had this guy assassinated to send a message to Putin that he'd better stop fucking up Obama's policy in Syria.
