Los Angeles Schools Closed Today Because of "Credible Terrorist Threat" (Bumped to the top for now)

All Los Angeles Unified School District schools were closed Tuesday after LAUSD received a "credible terror threat," according to school district officials and police. 

Officer Kim of the Los Angeles Police Department told KTLA that the threat prompted the decision from LAUSD Superintendent Ramon Cortines to close all schools until further notice. 

Some of the details of the electronic threat -- which was against "many schools" -- included the involvement of backpacks and other packages, Cortines said at a morning news conference. The nature of the threat was "electronic."

So yeah, I live in Los Angeles. And I have children.

You can imagine how I feel about this.

Just another one of the minor inconveniences we put up with for the pleasure of living with all the nice Moderate Muslims we have as neighbors.

AOW here with some more information which I have received from Pastorius via email:

There are 900 schools and 187 charter schools.

That means almost 1100 schools.

There are 640,000 total students.

Imagine all the parents who had "to make other plans" today.

LAUSD is the second largest in the nation behind New York Dept. of Schools.

AND...

NYC received a non-credible threat on their schools today.
