Dan Pfeiffer said that Obama would block all funding for the entire department, and would veto any spending bill if the Republicans try to impose cuts to spending aimed at stopping or slowing Obama’s plans to allow illegal immigrants into the country.
This is basically a threat to the GOP to force them to back off plans to defund Obama’s amnesty.
”I think the Republicans know they have little to no leverage,” Pfeiffer said, according to The Daily Caller. “Are they going to shut down the Department of Homeland Security to undo our executive action? I don’t think they are going to do that.”

Wrong perspective. It is O showing no regard for America's security if he shuts DHS. He doesn't have to shut it down but would only be doing so to be petty and petulant. As usual.

TlLEP is right. It is an easy enough problem to solve.
And Pete is right that he ought to be impeached.
But the fact that WE KNOW our duly-elected Republican leadership will DO NOTHING to solve this problem PROVES THEY ARE IN ON THE HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS.

I'd shut it down too! What has DHS accomplished? The whole bureaucratic train wreck was a wrong headed reaction to the 9/11 attack. Its impotence is directly proportional to the extent of its mandate.
The Border Patrol is hamstrung, the TSA is a joke, the NSA is a threat. The apparatus of Homeland Security now serves to protect the government against the citizens.
Point of clarification from me: any POTUS who threatens to expose Americans to danger in the homeland so as to further his agenda is not fit to hold Office.
