In a near run thing, timing wise, the entire Japanese carrier fleet opposing us was obliterated.
These were the instructions Nimitz gave to the totally outnumbered Spruance:
Yesterday, a day on which the D 'nominee', Hillary Clinton was being questioned by the FBI and facing possible charges under the Espionage Act, and days after President Bill 'Vincenzo Pantangeli'
In carrying out the task assigned . . . you will be governed by the principle of calculated risk, which you shall interpret to mean the avoidance of exposure of your force to attack by superior enemy forces without good prospect of inflicting, as a result of such exposure, greater damage on the enemy
Clinton tried to have a secret meeting with the Atty Genl (and failed), Donald Trump sailed his victorious carriers into the range of the Japanese battleships like a TRIGGER HAPPY SHOOT FROM THE HIP CARELESS MORON, and destroyed his complete victory by advertising HRC's undoubted complete corruption on a pile of cash with the outline of a STAR OF DAVID.
Now I do NOT believe Trump is antisemitic. That's a ridiculous charge for a man with a Jewish daughter and Jewish grandchildren, but he placed himself and the entire campaign, and all those who support him on the defensive for no reason when the entire national focus in the campaign was on Hillary and the FBI

And THAT is what gives pause.
Adm Spruance, knowing he had won, SAILED AWAY to complete and utter victory, and the Japanese never again had carrier supremacy in WW2.
That is what Trump may have thrown away yesterday.
And it PISSES ME OFF

It was thoughtless. But the graphic was intended to look like a Sheriff's badge. Not the Star.
But the left will seize on anything to sway the ignorant and uninformed. Not to mention the GOPe. Trump's camp has got to be more circumspect.
I believe the text of the tweet is Trump's, but the pic and star? I don't think he has the patience to do that. Probably an ignorant fool in his campaign added the six point star instead of the sheriff badge.
But this tweet fever in public figures reminds me of an executive's reaction at my place of work when computers appeared on every desk: Managers should never be given the power to email. Chances of damaging evidence are an unnecessary reality.
Apply now to tweets.
It was stupid, but thanks to Hillary's utter lack of ethics and mores, Trump will have another chance. And stop twitter. It is not a huge positive.
I just kinda went "Huh?" when noting the totally fabricated controversy. I just saw a "red star" kinda reminiscent of old time newspaper ads for a sale.
It did not even move across my radar "Star of David!" until someone made a big deal out of it.
I think we have only thrown away our common sense. Now a yellow star with the word "Jew" on it might have done it for me.
This "controversy" shows the art of thought capture at its lowest levels. It is like if I tell you, "Never, ever, ever think of red-bottom little monkeys", you will think about them for the rest of the day - the thought never having previously entered your mind, but now I have enslaved your imagination.
We lack discernment to know when we are being played. Trump should have never deleted the Tweet. He should have counter-punched to change the star to the shape of a rectal suppository. Then we could have all been scandalized that he put a bullet up for the lady.
Yeah, I have a wicked sense of humor. That helps!
