WAITING FOR HITLER: Social Justice Warrior Campaigns As Cargo Cult

Every Conservative is Hitler and a racist. Every single Conservative of National standing. George Bush. Mitt Romney. Paul Ryan. Donald Trump.

Every single one. It really doesn't matter what they actually stand for. They are Racist Hitlers

I wrote to a friend of mine asking what might seem like a stupid question: WHY?

Here's my question as it was phrased:

I have been wondering about the repetition of the everything-GOP-is-racist meme, and the Dead White Men meme, and then Bushitler/Trump is Hitler/Romney is Hitler meme. I am starting to believe that the net effect of the Government-Media/Academia Complex is everyone sees themselves as a big part of a moral-tragedy play which takes place on the stage of life and history. And their part in the play is to locate and exterminate the next Hitler, 

because you know, Hitler. 

The islanders had recognized that there was some connection between people sitting in control towers 

and the arrival of cargo beyond their wildest dreams.

They don't really know the history. They only know HItler is bad. And there will be another Hitler, and we don't want that to happen. AND NOTHING COULD BE MORE EXCITING THAN FINDING HITLER AND KILLING HIM. 

We would exercise demons, kill the goat, and societies evils would be expunged and we would all be free. But it's not just a big Pagan sacrifice (though it is that - in fact isn't it all a little like Islam's Stoning the Devil ritual before they enter into the gates of Mecca?). But it's also just a kind of History play for fun, kind of like TV. 

What do you think? I'm guessing there has been a lot written on this subject, right? Any suggestions?

HERE'S HIS ANSWER:

Modern SJW campaigns are like cargo-cults. Cargo-cults were supposedly primitive islanders where the US setup a temporary military base and supplies came in, then the US left but the natives still wanted chocolate bars and sneakers, so they built a facsimile of an airstrip hoping more planes would come. 

The moral of the story is supposed to be that they didn't understand the deep function and meaning or context of an airstrip, just the surface appearance of the thing, and they hoped that a resemblance would be enough. 

SJW campaigns are nowadays like cargo-cults because they all involve trying to repeat the surface appearance (but not really the deep meaning) of some big romanticized 'struggle' from the past, with no deep understanding or knowledge of what's being done or why, and still hoping the outcome will be similarly heroic. 

So for example, in the '60s it's true that civil rights for blacks was a big worthwhile struggle, and it's romanticized in media and schools like you say, and this leads to young normal white people daydreaming about 'what if I was there BUT I ACTED CORRECTLY' and being celebrated like a savior. Because after all, the steady drumbeat message everyone gets is that's what heroism is, and young normal people fantasize about being heroes. 

The only serious, culturally-approved heroism model anyone is given anymore (outside of maybe sports) has to do with standing up to racists or whatever. So 'idealistic' action-oriented young people look for opportunities to do that, but there really aren't any anymore. Instead what you get is dumbass campaigns to force bakers to bake wedding cakes, or people ganging up on someone on twitter and trying to get him fired for tweeting the wrong tweet.
