I saw her perform when I was 13. I sat in maybe the third or fourth row. I fell in love. My favorite song that night was Queen of the Silver Dollar.

Yeah, the reason I went to see her was because she sounded so great on Dylan's Desire album ... which I was in love with.

I knew nothing about Emmy Lou Harris. I was just a little kid. I only vaguely knew about Gram Parsons and the Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers and all that.

I don't think I was aware at the time that Emmy Lou had sang with Gram Parsons.
