Donald Trump Jr. and other Trump allies have traveled to Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, amid renewed interest from President-elect Donald Trump in acquiring the Arctic island.
Trump posted the following video of their arrival, commenting, “Don Jr. and my Reps landing in Greenland.”
According to a Greenlandic government official, Trump Jr.’s visit is personal, with no planned meetings with government officials or political figures.
However, there are unconfirmed reports that he might meet with Erik Jensen, head of Greenland’s ruling party, AP reported.
According to Fox News, Trump Jr. intends to create video content for his podcast during the trip.
Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egede has recently emphasized his desire to pursue independence from Denmark, its former colonial ruler, as Trump ramps up . Previously, Prime Minister Egede pushed back on Trump’s proposal to purchase Greenland, saying the island “will never be for sale.”
