Lawmakers in Congress not supporting Iranian protestors

When it comes to foreign issues, even conservatives in Congress are faltering when it comes to the issue of Iran's anti-regime protestors:

Iranian activists are worried U.S. lawmakers have lost interest in supporting Iranian protesters and holding the regime accountable for its torture and murder of more than 500 anti-regime demonstrators, Iranian-American activists say.

More than three months after a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers introduced the MAHSA Act, which would impose new sanctions on Tehran's government for its violent crackdown on democratic protesters, Congress has yet to push it forward. Activists are frustrated by the slow roll of the legislation, which was named after 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini, who was killed by the country's morality police for improperly wearing her hijab.

"We are outraged that those most responsible for such atrocities and human rights abuses have not yet been met with any consequences," Sarah Raviani, an Iranian-American human rights activist, told the Free Beacon. "We will no longer accept empty statements of condemnation from our politicians. Rather, we are imploring that U.S. lawmakers take action by supporting the MAHSA Act."

Amini’s death on Sept. 22 sparked nationwide protests against Iran’s hardline regime, posing the most significant threat to its grip on power in years. Pressure on the regime is needed more than ever, according to activists, in the week since Iran launched an attack in Syria that killed one U.S. citizen and wounded six military members, leaving them with traumatic brain injuries.

With the way the USA is going today under leftism, that's one of the reasons we sadly may not be able to rely on better steps taken against Iran. But if the Republicans aren't taking any proper steps either, that's decidedly telling too. This is very grave, and the GOP is going to have to prove itself better than this for a change.

For Iranians the choice is clear... storm the Bastille or SUFFOCATE ..there's NOTHING ELSE

1. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, last night dismissed protests over last week's election as the work of "tension seekers" following a fourth day of protests in Tehran
2. Posts on Twitter seemed to suggest that there were still pockets of unrest. One user who has been posting messages about the situation in Tehran said there had been reports of street fighting in Azadi square and the surrounding streets with pepper gas being used by security forces. Earlier the poster said hundreds had been arrested during the day, and that as the night wore on Basij militamen were ­causing trouble.
3. As the night went on the user posted: "Our lives are in real danger now - we are the eyes - they need to stop us."
4. But numbers on the streets yesterday were far fewer than the 500,000 to 1 ­million who took part in a mass opposition protest in the capital on Monday
5. Ominously, the government ordered ­foreign journalists not ­permanently based in Iran to leave the country at once, and banned resident correspondents from reporting from the streets, a move seen as possibly heralding an intensification of the crackdown.
6. The regime appeared to be following a dual strategy of partial concessions on ­Friday's vote combined with arrests of opposition figures who could give ­coherence to the protests. Those detained yesterday included Muhammad Ali Abtahi and Saeed Hajarian, both Mousavi supporters.
7. In his remarks, Khamenei called for ­tolerance and said those disputing the result were ­tarnishing the ­"beautiful" image created by the record 85% turnout.
8. Mousavi had appealed to his supporters to stay off the streets and remain peaceful.

Khameinei is going to believe your personal ambition threatened the Islamic revolution, fellah. The minute you appeared in the street, it was ALL OR NOTHING.

The Guardian Council will NEVER allow anything like this to happen again. That means increased powers for the Basij, and the IRGC, and people like A'jad.

We should be airdropping twenty million miniskirts, jeans, and tight sweaters from Rodeo Drive. They would be worth EVERY PENNY.

Delara Darabi Has Been Executed

This Iranian site is reporting that 20-year-old Iranian artist Delara Darabi, sentenced to death when she was 17, was hanged in the prison yard in Rasht, Iran, early this morning. The execution came 11 days after an Iranian court had officially postponed it for two months.

It appears the lying scum used the false stay of execution to distract human rights organizations such as www.stopchildexecutions.com which were trying to save Darabi's life, and to avoid international and internal protests.
