Peter King is Right & Clairvoyant

Don't you sleep well at night knowing that Janet Napolitano, or Janet Reno Redux as I like to characterize her, is in charge of the Department of Homeland Security???

A Two-Year-Old Knows Her Faith

The following video indicates just how seriously Moslems take teaching Islamic doctrine and culture to their children:

This little muslimah lives and makes her profession of faith in New York City.

Do those of faiths other than Islam train their children in the same way and at such a young age?

To Feel the Fear is to Understand the Nature of the Beast

I have some very serious "domestic policy" differences with Newt Gingrich. I never thought I would find myself watching him speak and wishing he were our front runner candidate for president, but viewing these two superb short statements by him did just that.

Gringrich understands the danger from fundamentalist Islam thoroughly and viscerally. When he speaks of the fear he feels for the future of his grandchildren it resonates with the fear I feel every day. Not "concern". Fear. The sort of heart-pounding, pulse-racing, cold-sweat fear you feel when confronted by a large carnivorous animal that sees you as its next meal. Gingrich understands the nature of radical fundamentalist Islam and he understands, as the vast majority of his colleagues do not, that the nature of a thing determines its actions. The nature of radical fundatmentalist Islam is murder, destruction and enslavement, and at this time there is no effective force standing in its way.

At this point, I do not trust those who claim they "understand the situation". I trust only those who prove to me that they understand it and further, that they feel the same cold hand of fear that I do.

Islam's Spread in America

With a hat-tip to Sounder, who left this link to "The Rise of Islam in America" in a comment at Foehammer's Anvil:

Excerpt from the text at the above link:
There are between 6 and 7 million Muslims in America today. In other words, Muslims outnumber some Christian denominations and are equal to the number of Jews. Research done in the year 2000 by prominent American universities and Islamic foundations show that the number of Muslims is increasing rapidly and that Islam is growing stronger day by day.

The above graphic representation shows the rising numbers of mosques in America.
The main theme of this research, known as the Mosque Study Project, is the establishment of mosques in America. The reason for this is that mosques occupy a very special place in any statistical compilations done with regard to the American Muslim community. Mosques in America are both houses of worship and gathering places for talking with one another and launching cultural activities to make Islam more widely known. Every mosque establishes a relationship with the press to introduce Islam to a wider audience, speaks with local politicians, visits schools and churches, engages in interfaith dialogue and carries on other such activities. Thus, research done on these mosques is one of the most useful tools for gathering accurate and enlightening information on this community's state.

According to this research, America now has about 1,209 mosques, most of which were constructed very recently. Thirty percent of these mosques were built in the 1990s, and 32% were built in the 1980s. Other statistics show that in 1994, the total number of mosques in America was 962; in 2000, there was a 25% increase in this number.

These data show a natural parallel with the growing number of Muslims. For example, according to determinations made in 1994, the number of Muslims attending mosque services was 500,000; in 2000, this figure had increased to 2 million-an approximately 300% increase. A significant part of this number is composed of people who converted to Islam. The same research shows that about 30% of those worshippers are converts. According to these data, about 20,000 Americans accept Islam every year....

US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Recognizes Ramadan and Says Americans Have the Deepest Respect for Muslims

Question: Is this like the deep respect Muslims have for Americans and other infidels?

ARAB NEWS: RIYADH, 10 October 2007 — US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ford M. Fraker termed the US House of Representatives resolution recognizing Ramadan and expressing the deepest respect to Muslims in the United States as “historic”.

The resolution was adopted in the House by a vote of 376-0 last week for the first time.

“We welcome the resolution from the US House of Representatives recognizing the holy month of Ramadan and expressing respect to Muslims,” said Fraker. “This message of friendship is particularly appropriate here, the home of Islam’s two holiest mosques.”

The American envoy noted that “this resolution confirms that Congress and the American people are fully supportive of these efforts.”

The resolution, which acknowledges the importance of Muslims in America, is the first of its kind, introduced by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) and co-sponsored by 30 legislators.

The resolution was strongly backed by Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the first Muslim to be elected to US Congress.

Fraker underscored the US Embassy’s community outreach efforts, including hosting iftar meals during Ramadan.

“Moreover, we hosted Imam Muhammad Bashar Arafat, who spoke to Saudi audiences about Muslim life in America and shared his peaceful messages of cooperation and dialogue between cultures,” he said.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish your readers Ramadan Kareem and Eid Mubarak,” he added.

A statement posted at the US Embassy website said that US President George W. Bush has expressed happiness on the adoption of this resolution.

Bush said that the Islamic religion “is a great religion that preaches peace,” and that Americans are free “to worship any way they see fit.” US Envoy Emphasizes Bid to Bridge Social Gap (more) By M. Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Arab News
