"Muslims of the Americas"

Remember a few years back those stories about jihadist training camps in America?

Now we read this, dated May 4, 2014:
'Muslims of the Americas' Depositions Reveal New Enclaves: The revelations came during depositions of three senior officials of the group after MOA unsuccessfully sued two of their critics

A senior official of the Muslims of the Americas/Jamaat ul-Fuqra (MOA), a terror-linked group, said during a deposition that it has a “community” outside Anchorage, Alaska. Officials also confirmed the existence of three communes in New York, California and Michigan that have yet to be publicly pinpointed.

The comments came during depositions of three senior MOA officials after the group sued two critics, Martin Mawyer and Patti Pierucci, for $30 million for their book about MOA titled Twilight in America. The judge dismissed the lawsuit last week. Astonishingly, MOA Deputy Director Hussein Adams, the son of terrorist Barry Adams, admitted he had no information to show that the defendants lacked a reasonable basis for their claims.

The MOA officials repeatedly denied being a terrorist organization, but would not provide basic details about the group. Adams was especially secretive, claiming that the group had virtually no records and that he didn’t even know the names of those on Islamberg’s town council or who was paying the bills.

MOA says it has 22 “Islamic villages” around the country, including the one named “Mahmoudberg” in Sweeny, Texas that was identified by the Clarion Project.

Other pinpointed communes include Islamberg in Hancock, NY; Holy Islamville in York County, South Carolina; Islamville in Dover, Tennessee; Hasanville in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, Canada; Madinah Village near Commerce, Georgia; Aliville in Odum, Georgia; Ahmadabad West in Red House, Virginia and one with an unknown name in Meherrin, Virginia.

Deputy Director Hussein Adams said that MOA has a “community” near Anchorage, Alaska. This is the first time that a MOA enclave has been reported in the state.

He also spoke of “Mariaville” located “just down the street” of Islamberg, New York. There is documentation of a village in Deposit, New York. Adams mentioned another site outside Los Angeles, substantiating reports of a village at Oak Hill, California. Another MOA official, Muhammed Hasib Abdul-Haqq, confirmed the existence of a site in Coldwater, Michigan.

There are likely more to be found. During his deposition, Adams claimed that only three villages (Islamberg, Mariaville and Holy Islamville) are “officially” part of his group. Another nine that he mentioned were “unofficial.” When confronted with how MOA says on its DVDs that it has 22 villages, he replied, “Well, maybe there were other locations included.”...

MUSLIM PARAMILITARY COMPOUND IN VIRGINIA ESCAPES FEDERAL SCRUTINY

FEDS OVERLOOK MUSLIM MILITIAS
NAPOLITANO OBLIVIOUS TO REAL THREAT

By

(Posted with a tip of the hat to Michael Savage)

While nine members of a Christian militia in Michigan have been arrested on charges of seditious conspiracy, the federal government, under Attorney General Janet Napolitano, has opted to turn a blind-eye to the Muslim militias that Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a group led by Sheik Mubarek Gilani of Pakistan, has been established throughout the country.

One of the most troublesome of Muslim militias is headquartered in a paramilitary compound on the outskirts of Red House, Virginia.

Prior to 9/11, the Red House compound was under federal surveillance for stockpiling weapons. In 2003, Vincente Pierre, the leader of the compound, his wife Tracy Upshur, and Abdullah Ben Benu were arrested for illegal arms purchases.

After 9/11, the Beltway snipers John Allen Muhammed and Lee Malvo reportedly holed up the Red House complex between their terror attacks.

Virginia law enforcement officers have reported that the residents of the compound remain in a state of flux – - here one day and gone the next. This observation has led them to speculate that the shacks and trailers throughout the compound serve as safe houses for Islamic terrorists.

Investigators from The Last Crusade paid a visit to the compound and amassed the following information:

(1). The complex, like Islamberg, contains an underground bunker system that could be used for paramilitary training and possibly to harbor deadly weapons, even radiological and nuclear devises, for use in the great jihad against Christians and Jews. Twenty-four members of this Jamaat ul-Fuqra complex already have been arrested for trafficking in illegal firearms, including the ammunition for AK-47s.

(2). Members of the compound have been sent to Pakistan and Afghanistan for specialized training in guerilla warfare – - a fact confirmed by Thomas P. Gallagher, a Special Agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

(3). The Red House compound regularly receives visits from suspicious guests from Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.

(4). Gunfire from automatic weapons can be heard coming from the site. Wasi, the so-called “Mayor” of the settlement, admitted to Fox News that there are shooting ranges within the compound and that the residents are armed. “It’s America. It’s perfectly legal,” he said. When question about the guns at Red House, Thomas Jones, Sheriff of Charlotte County, said: “Well if they use them to hunt, I don’t know. But they’ve admitted they use them for target practicing. And they are semi-automatic.”

(5) With so many Muslims coming and going from the compound, law enforcement officials are not sure who is living in the compound and who is training on the firing range. Since ul-Fuqra has been actively engaged in recruiting prisoners, many residents may be ex felons, who are prohibited by law from possessing firearms and from associating with other ex-convicts. “They stay awhile,” says Sheriff Jones, “and it’s kind of a wayside for some of them. Traveling through from, I guess, one Muslim compound to another.”

Members of the Red House compound were recently involved in a $7 million fraud scheme. Under the name of “Talib’s Sportswear,” they sold counterfeit-label clothing to retail merchants throughout the country. The prove into the Talib firm led the arrests of Ronald Gerald “Talib” Roundtree and his wives Berna Robbin, Terri Lynn Singleton, and Keisha Janelle Simms, who reside on “Fatima Lane” in Red House.

Also taken into custody was William Statts, a board member of the Muslims of the First State, Inc., a newly created non-profit organization that Jamaat ul-Fuqra associates established in Delaware. Statts has a long criminal history, including arrests and convictions for felony thefts, possession of illegal firearms, drug trafficking, and fraud. Also collared were Ismail Haqq, Cherubin Pierre, and Eric Harmon of Meherrin, Virginia.

The arrests brought to light several developments that had taken place under the radar of local law enforcement and press officials. The members of Red House are not only engaged in criminal activity but also the practice of polygamy. The addresses of Talib’s wives provided evidence that a host of other compounds have been established in the wilds of southern Virginia.

Islamberg: A Village Is Missing Its Idiots

Paul Williams updates the case of the missing Muslims.

The Case of the Missing Muslims: Why Is Islamberg Now a Ghost Town?
Paul Williams, PhD

The Wall Street Journal reports this week that U.S. investigators are discovering that more and more young Muslims are vanishing from mosques, madrassas, and Islamic centers.

The disappearances, the Journal notes, are raising grave concerns among FBI and Homeland Security officials who fear that an onset of jihadist activity will take place on American soil in the near future.

Hundreds of Muslim men are also missing from Islamberg and this is not a propitious omen.

The sentry post is gone and no guards are in sight at the entrance to the 70 acre Islamic settlement located in the dense forest between Deposit and Hancock in upper New York State.
Young men in Islamic garb no longer congregate before the makeshift mosque, and no students are in attendance at the one room shack that serves as Sheikh Gilani's “International Quranic Open University.”

Gunfire no longer can be heard from the firing ranges along the eastern parameter of the property – and no grunts come from new recruits at the obstacle course.

A new sign at the entranceway reads, “Welcome to Holy Islamberg: The International Quranic Open University.” Next to this sign, which features the image of a mosque emerging from the mountains, is a pot of plastic carnations. Another sign proclaims that the community is home to the “United Muslim – Christian Forum.”

Such statements of welcome are offset by the “No Trespassing” signs that have been nailed to trees throughout the compound.

On the opposite side of the road leading into the community is a rack of metal mailboxes bearing such names as Abdul-Haqq, Abdul Jalil, Mumim Roberts, Abdullah Simonds, and Salam Insan.

What has happened to this once bustling complex of radical Islamists – a place where the cries of muezzins were accompanied by the incessant rat-tat-tat of machine gunfire? Where are the Arab dignitaries that used to visit this remote community in chauffeur-driven limousines? Where are the armed sentries who warded away all intruders?

A handful of children play in the mud and muck before rows of rusty old trailers, and a few women in full burkas walk along the rutty dirt road that leads to the heart of the squalid Muslim compound.

The few residents who remain in the settlement are not environmentalists. Sewage seeps from septic tanks and outhouses into the creek that flows at the base of the settlement. Bags of rotting garbage remain stacked between the trailers. And the once pristine countryside is now littered with junk cars, moldy mattresses, empty tanks of propane, and old appliances.

Where are the men?

What has happened to this bustling center of jihadi training?

Why has Islamberg become a ghost town?

The same phenomenon of vanishing Muslim men is taking place at mosques, madrassas, and other Islamic communities throughout the country and at other Jamaat ul-Fuqra paramilitary compounds, including one in Red House, Virginia.

U.S. investigators have now discovered that many of the missing Muslims are showing up in the killing fields of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Somalia.

Five American Muslims recently were arrested in Pakistan following a raid at the home of a member of the Jaish-e-Muhammad, a Pakistani movement designated as a terrorist group by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2001.

[...]

Where are the Muslim men from Islamberg?

The answer comes from a heavy-set woman in a long black burka who stops to check her mail box. “The men – all gone,” she says in halting English. “All – in Pakistan.”

Islamberg was established in 1980 by Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, a Pakistani cleric who served as the imam of the Yasin Masjid in Brooklyn. A quack practitioner of something called “Koranic psychiatry,” Sheikh Gilani presented himself to the Brooklyn congregation as "the sixth Sultan ul Faqr,” with a lineage that dates back to the prophet Mohammed. He claimed to have supernatural powers that came from his regular reception of visits by jinn and “non-human beings.”

Sporting ammunition belts, Gilani called upon members of a Black Muslim street gang known as Dar al-Islam (DAR) to take part in the holy war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Hundreds answered the call and headed off to training camps in Pakistan, which had been established by Osama bin Laden, and other members of the mujahadeen.

Under Gilani’s direction, the DAR transformed into Jamaat ul-Fuqra (“the community of the impoverished”) and continued its prison ministry under Muslims of the Americas, a new, non-profit corporation. The sheikh soon came to realize that it would be financially advantageous to train new recruits for the holy war on American soil rather than shelling out the freight of sending them to Lahore and Peshawar. He purchased a 70-acre parcel of land near Green Haven, set up a firing range and an obstacle course, purchased a slew of old single-wide trailers and created a paramilitary compound called Islamberg.

When released from the federal prison, former convicts now received not only the customary $10 and a suit of clothes but also a one-way ticket to Gilani’s compound.

What took place at Islamberg and the International Quranic Open University?

The answers came from Sheikh Gilani in his recruitment videos: “We give [students] specialized training in guerilla warfare. We are at present establishing training camps. You can easily reach us at Open Quranic offices in upstate New York or in Canada or in South Carolina or in Pakistan.”

Similarly, in a handbook, published by the university, Gilani wrote that the foremost duty of all students is to wage war against “the oppressors of Muslims.” The students are expected to sign an oath that reads: “I shall always hear and obey, and whenever given the command, I shall readily fight for Allah’s sake.”

Now that the recruits at Islamberg have been trained in the basics of guerilla warfare, they have been deployed to Pakistan for advanced courses in explosives and weapons of mass destruction.

They will be returning home soon.

NIN on Jamaat ul Fuqra Transmutations

Douglas Hagmann has begun what promises to be an interesting series on Jamaat ul Fuqra over at Northeast Intelligence Network. Excerpts from Part I dated 3/24/09:
The Truth Exposed: Islamic Terrorist Training & Fundraising in America

Part I: The run-up to urban warfare & a warning of coming attacks

Investigators of the Northeast Intelligence Network have been performing an extensive investigation and surveillance operation of the activities of Jamaat ul Fuqra, an Islamic terrorist group that is currently active and operational across the US and Canada. The findings of our investigation and surveillance operations are as extensive as they are disturbing.

This organization of Muslim terrorists are actively training for urban warfare, infiltrating our government institutions, securing positions of public trust, and raising substantial sums of money through a wide range of white collar criminal activity and Islamic charities which is being funneled to terrorist kingpin Sheikh Mubarek Ali Gilani in Pakistan. The money is used for terrorist operations and organizational advancement. From their US headquarters in rural Delaware county, New York at the base of the Catskills where recruitment is brisk, especially from within our prison system, they have also reinforced their operations into Mexico, Latin America, the Virgin Islands, and elsewhere. Their primary focus, however, remains the US and Canada, and their targets are both religious and secular in nature, with emphasis on the former. Such targets include Jews and Christians, churches and synagogues, and perhaps most insidiously, our schools and school children. The latter will be for psychological effect...

Hagmann's series will also deal with Jamaat ul Fuqra's adjustment of its modus operandi following its exposure by less-than-accurate media reports that

...became the norm for many Internet researchers, rather than engaging in the tedious but professionally necessary investigative task of documenting facts and evidence. Sadly, the tabloid mentality consumed even the most popular denizens of the blogoshphere, all chasing headlines in a frenzy for notoriety. That mentality was further illustrated by the recent production of a documentary of this terrorist organization ["Homegrown Jihad", PRB Films in association with Christian Action Network]...

The documentary is based in part on a report submitted to law enforcement by the Regional Organized Crime Information Center (ROCIC), in which the Northeast Intelligence Network is cited as a source. The report also contains significant historical information mixed with information current at the time of its 2006 publication, some of which cannot be referenced as current or presented as evidence of current activity in 2009. Doing so gives those who are determined to minimize the threat, or even deny that any threat exists, enough of an opportunity to do so by pointing to such perceived inaccuracies. It also empowers the enemy by marginalizing those who are attempting to present clear and factual evidence in an effort to educate a wary public about a growing danger.

Spawned perhaps by the renewed interest in the terrorist organization and superficial references on Internet blogs did the attention-deficit corporate media again become interested, rushing once more to grab some suitable footage of a terrorist training camp in America. Unfortunately, they could not see through the veneer of contrived serenity, and were disappointed by the lack of directional signs pointing to the nearest Salman Pak mock-up. Whether they were denied the ability to look around or most recently, denied entry onto private property despite multiple requests, their disappointment seemed to manifest itself as a situation where “there is nothing to see here.” Leaving the audience confused about whether the headquarters of the terrorist group Jamaat ul Fuqra was akin to a year-around bible retreat or a boot camp for followers of Mohammed, the media will again lose interest as they had not uncovered any evidence by merely showing up and asking for it.

It is for the above reasons that Jamaat ul Fuqra is now more dangerous than ever, more emboldened, more organized, and more powerful. The blood of the next victims of Gilani and his disciples will be on the hands of many, spread through the hegemonic influence of Internet, an inept media, and at the highest levels of an
infiltrated American government who have been aware of this group’s existence and activities for not only the last five years, but the last 2 ½ decades.

To fully understand the horrific nature of the threat posed by Gilani the terrorist and those who have sworn allegiance to him, it is necessary to understand their renewed objectives, their current method of operation, and perhaps most importantly, how they have adapted and their operations have evolved as a result of the spotlight that has been shined upon them over the last few years.

The truly dangerous organization will not merely run ten different ways like so many roaches when exposed to light. Given the history of JF, members of which have carried out attacks in the U.S. as far back as 1983, we need the most accurate intelligence available concerning the latest activities of this dangerous group.
