Storm Track Appeasement: The Crocodile Must Be Fed

From The Gathering Storm

Shortly after the terrorist attacks in Madrid that killed 191 people and wounded 1400 more and the election of a left wing government, Spain withdrew its troops from Iraq surrendering their sovereignty to the Islamists. The leftist appeasing government thought that by withdrawing from the conflict with Islamism they would be safe from the clash of civilizations. Their hope, as Winston Churchill has aptly said was to appease the crocodile in hopes that that the crocodile eats them last.

Well, the crocodile is hungry again and it’s looking at Spain for its next meal.

“Spanish police have warned of increased activity by Islamist terrorist groups in the country, a report said Sunday, two and a half years after the Madrid train bombings that killed 191 people. Backyard mosques are serving as recruiting grounds for potential jihadis, El Pais daily reported, quoting a reliable police dossier. The increased radicalization of young Spanish Muslims, born in the country to first-generation immigrant parents, is also a matter of concern, the report said.”

And what’s the government’s response? Do they see that there is no connection to their actions and those of the terrorists who need no excuse to plan and execute terrorist attacks on Spain? Do they connect the dots?

Dream on. Spain has a leftist socialist government and they blame the victim not the perpetuator in world affairs. And the victim in this case is the Islamists. Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said Saturday that Israel's offensive against Lebanon could fuel radical Islam, as he said the war in Iraq had done.

“Zapatero said the war in Iraq had led to "radicalization, fanaticism, conflict and instability" in the region and he urged Israel to end hostilities and respect international law. "Those who promoted the war in Iraq told us that after the intervention a horizon of peace would open up," Zapatero told supporters at a Socialist rally in Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. "I hope the lesson given by these facts will make them think things over," he said, referring to Israel.

Wake up Mr. Zapatero and smell the result of your appeasement. Make as many excuses as you like but the fall of Israel, the withdrawal of allied forces from the Middle East and the appeasement of Islamists in your mist who want to turn Europe into Eurabia, will not make your country safe while the Islamist crocodile is on the loose.

If the Spanish government wishes to avoid further Islamic attacks, it must have the courage to do what the Indian government has done in reaction to the Mumbai massacre. Spain must ban any blogs which might offend Muslims:

I wonder what the sand tastes like in India when people bury their heads in it.
