Non-Muslim Scientists & The Quran

This little item popped up in my Google alerts this morning. Excerpt from Dr. Keith L. Moore's testimonial:
“...For the past three years, I have worked with the Embryology Committee of King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, helping them to interpret the many statements in the Qur’an and Sunnah referring to human reproduction and prenatal development. At first I was astonished by the accuracy of the statements that were recorded in the 7th century AD, before the science of embryology was established. Although I was aware of the glorious history of Muslim scientists in the 10th century AD, and some of their contributions to Medicine, I knew nothing about the religious facts and beliefs contained in the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
Dr. Moore is Professor Emeritus, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, University of Toronto.

The following, from Joe Leigh Simpson, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, is another testimonial:
“…these Hadiths (sayings of Muhammad) could not have been obtained on the basis of the scientific knowledge that was available at the time of the ‘writer’… It follows that not only is there no conflict between genetics and religion (Islam) but in fact religion (Islam) may guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches…There exist statements in the Qur’an shown centuries later to be valid which support knowledge in the Qur’an having been derived from God.”
The glowing testimonials from several other professors and doctors are available at the above link.

I wonder if any of these erudite fellows have ever read the little comic book on the sidebar here at IBA? Check out all the "scientific facts" in Mohammed's Believe It Or Else! For example, there is this little "factual" gem:
"A believer eats in one intestine whereas a nonbeliever eats in seven intestines."
Yeah, right.

I would say this is for local consumption (King ABdul Aziz U is where Mohammed Qutb taught OBL and Abdullah Azaam), but it's in english. The language used, the word constructs, demonstrates that these morons have gone well past dhimmis to being tools, but do the Al Saud, and Al Sheik's imagine this convinces ANYONE over here?

Epa,
What I can't get over...The credentials of these idiots.

Not only do we infidels eat in seven intestines, we actually have seven assholes.

Now, that may strike the Muslim believer as funny, and even as a form of birth defect, but they'd better watch out for the Seven Assholes of Olfactory Fury when we finally go to war. Our sphincters are registered weapons of death which, when brought under discipline, are known to fell entire of men.

Pastorius,
Isn't 7 the number of perfection? ;^)

completely unaware that all of the information in the Qur'an about embryology had already been revealed many different times, centuries before hand. Furthermore, some of the information is scientifically inaccurate.. .

Agreeing with epa - a sick joke

It never ceases to amaze me how I laced my boots up every morning as many Muslims in the Military did this morning, just to continue to keep our oath to ensure you guys get to keep this crap going. The irony is sickening at best.

When you get the testicular fortitude to swear that same oath and fight this war on terror let me know. Otherwise, many of you will remain armchair quarterbacks that lack the honor, courage, or commitment to actually do something better to make this world better for all people, rather than spit on your fellow Americans especially those in uniform because we say we are Muslim.

A little objectivity goes both ways.

Robert,
This blog is my War on Islamofascism.

Islamofascists would say we can not criticize Islam. Islam is a religion. As such, it is among the powerful institutions which mediate society.

We would never think to say that Americans ought not criticize business, or government. Why would we entertain the notion that Islam, as a religion, ought not be criticized.

By the way, you may get upset with us sometimes, and I can understand why. But, I know you are smart enough to know that a lot of this is schtick.

We don't have a problem with you.

Robert, 1st of all, thank you.

Our point here in general is that god powered absolutism and intolerance is intolerable. If you have taken the military oath and serve, that isn't you. You are defending our ability to run around making up laws out of our own heads, and be assholes.

Far from spitting on you, muslims defending that principle in our military represent the penultimate of what WE hope america can be.

The people we abhor think since the Quran is the perfect revealed word of perfect god, that anything deviating from it is satan. Including making up laws out of your head instead of following god's.

So please excuse us when we see morons like these scientists, who should IF they are scientists, at worst, believe that one day science will point the way to the existence god, instead of taking the position that god tells us what science is because it says so in a book someone else says is the revealed word of god. It's like Bin Baz saying the world was flat until a muslim in space corrected him.

I have fielded my share of threats btw, and did my bit a generation ago to try to make this a better place.

But my risk was from some guys wearing sheets, not Al Qaeda ..not the same risk at all.

So thank you

Robert,
I see that after 9/11, you converted from Christianity to Islam.

I have three questions:

1. You don't see a contradiction between that conversion and your American patriotism? I note the prominence of the American flag on your web site.

2. Should any religious book be considered a basis for science?

3. Is the passage I quoted from the Buhkari not as posted?

Looking forward to your response to the above.

Meanwhile, I'm listening to the radio show on your sidebar, the one entitled "In the Halls of Valhalla."
