King Obama?

From LGF:

Remember when presidents had to actually lead and accomplish things before they had national holidays named after them?

Some of the LGF comments worth repeating:

  • Has anyone pointed out that there is no holiday for any given past President? Washington & Lincoln had to double-up when MLK got his day. So Lincoln - who freed the slaves - doesn't get his own day, but the guy who bat clean-up does.  And Washington has to play second fiddle to MLK too? What the hell were they THINKING!
  • More to the point, Washington had conniption fits at the hero worship he was subjected to. He was livid when they tried to make him King.

While a student in the late 1970s, Barack Obama carved his name in the pavement outside the cafeteria of Punahou School

Pastorius,

This alone makes me glad that the constitution forbid running for more than two terms in office. This kind of idolatry is not good for democracy or human liberty.

He's on his way to the kingship if he uses the power of executive order.

Always On Watch,

to create a holiday celebrating himself? Do you really think a large enough percentage of the American public would go along with that for him to succeed?
