Obama Spokesman Says 'Obama Ready to RULE on Day 1'

From Newsbusters:

The co-chair of Barack Obama's Transition Team, Valerie Jarrett, appeared on Meet the Press this weekend and used, shall we say, an interesting word to described what she thinks Barack Obama will be doing in January when he's officially sworn into office. She told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to "rule" on day one. It's a word that reflects the worst fears that people have for Obama the "arrogant," the "messiah," that imagines he's here to "rule" instead of govern.

Jarret told Brokaw that "given the daunting challenges that we face, it's important that president elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one."

Someone needs to get to Jarrett and inform her that American politicians are not Kings and do not "rule" from office. But if this is the attitude of Obama's transition team, what does The One himself imagine he is about to unleash? Could the fears that Obama thinks he is being anointed America's King be far off with this sort of talk flying about?

Image At Atlas' site:
"To God be the Glory
Great things he has done
OBAMA
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done"

Cut/paste of one interesting comment on Atlas' post:
For some time now it has been in the public schools that in February Washington's and Lincoln's B'days have been changed to Presidents Day with virtually no mention made of their names, because they are white men as all other Presidents, who as taught are oppressors of the "special" non-white groups. To underline the point February has been declared Black History Month.

As a side note, I've gotten into the habit of watching the History Channel's early morning programming called "THC Classroom". On several occassions I've found myself wishing this program was available for sale - but it is not. It's also difficult to find any corroborating documentation related to the program, which is a shame because it is well done.

Today's program was no exception. The program segment was called "Episode: Flying High for France: The Lafayette Escadrille/Congo: A Curse of Riches". Part of the program focused on the history of the Congo. When it began discussing Joseph Mobutu's ascendance to rule, it mentioned the overwhelming cultish public response he received. One individual remarked that religious hymns even substituted Mobutu's name for God.
Just like Barry Soetoro reinvented himself as "Barack Hussein Obama", Joseph Mobutu reinvented himself as "Mobutu Sese Seko Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga". . .the spokeswoman on the program mentioned the translation as something like chickens coming home to roost to burn fire with fire - or some such.
Actually, I looked it up at this website and it really means: "the all-powerful warrior who, because of his endurance and inflexible will to win, goes from conquest to conquest, leaving fire in his wake".
That website also mentions:
Mobutu established a massive personality cult, devised by his interior minister, Sakombi Inongo. He assumed such titles as "Messiah," "Father of the Nation," "Second Hero," "Mulopwe" ("emperor" or "god-king"), etc. Images of him were everywhere, pronouns referring to Him in government press releases were capitalized, his mother was compared to the Virgin Mary and he to Jesus, and an image of him descending from heaven through clouds preceded the evening news.
The THC programme also noted that the term 'kelptocrat' was conceived based on Mobutu's pilfering & pillaging of Zaire's assets and generous foreign aid - into the country's complete destitution.

If there is a way to TiVo and record this program it will prove useful for comparison to the 'O' .

WC,
I think about that a lot.

Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung would say that the reason myths resonate with people is because they answer a deep psychological need within the soul of the human being. Myths are psychological needs which are common to humanity in general.

When one makes oneself a myth in the public arena, one can expect that the myth will be carried forward whether one wants it to be or not.

I think Obama has put himself in a dangerous place.

I truly hope he does well as President, and lives through his term, but I think he has put himself in danger.

Look at what happens to "peacemakers" - Gandhi, Rabin, Lennon, Christ, etc.

It's the way of the world.

Hate to be a cold fish about this, but I don't give a rat's ass whether he survives or not. I'm too busy hoping that we survive him. This notion that the Obamassiah is now a risk for assassination is the latest slipper the Obamaton sick puppies are obsessed with worrying. They ranted about wanting to see Bush assassinated for so long it's as if they've just transferred the death wish to a martyrdom complex for The One.

People will be steeped in beast worship and they will wake up when it's too late. Not all that glitters is gold.
