Phares: Western Public Must Educate Itself About Jihadist Threat

"The Confrontation", Dr. Walid Phares' third book in his trilogy on the war against jihad ("Future Jihad" and "The War of Ideas" prceeded it), was released this month. Phares has consistently placed strong emphasis on the need for the Western public to be educated about the nature of jihadism and its threat to our society. He castigates Western academics and the MSM for defaulting on their responsibility to supply the public with the relevant information needed to form an accurate picture of the Islamist threat and act accordingly. Below are excerpts from Chapter 3: Cultural Revolution in the West.

The major missing component in the Western War on Terror is undoubtedly: public action and knowledge. The man or woman on the street is strangely absent from the raging debates on the conflict... On the afternoon of September 11, 2001, one might have expected to see millions in the streets demonstrating against al Qaeda and its ideology... but the people of America didn't show a visceral anger. Lighting candles, holding cermonies, and displaying the flag showed they were touched, hurt, and concerned. But the question most often asked was "Why?" This... showed how shielded the American public was from what had happened. The dominant elites had performed a lethal brainwashing... the public was denied the truth, and actively miseducated.

The marginalization of... the Western public denies them their basic right to resist the Jihadist onslaught. It denies the public the right to obtain information and to act. Ordinary men and women in societies under attack knew with their basic instincts that their culture and their very existence was being assaulted. But they were deprived of the knowledge needed to transform their feelings, their frustration, and their real aspiriations into action -- and by their own establishment... The elite... has acted in conjunction with the terror campaign, in fact betraying the confidence of its constituency.

In a besieged political culture, where the command-and-control systems are solidly in the hands of the oil-backed (and mostly Jihadi) cartels, the only choice when survival is at issue is for the public to rise... and presssure the press and audiovisual media to end the dominance of the apologists and open the media to a plurality of views on the terror wars. The public also has to look beyond the traditional media to a new media now available to civil society: bloggers, direct news from the field, YouTube, chat rooms, free media...

Citizens will have to educate themselves on the most dangerous development of the twenty-first century and begin electing officials on the basis of their understanding of the threat and their will to combat it.

Hi everyone. Well, now that the FITNA furor has died down somewhat, it's interesting to see how many people are condeming the film and how few people are condeming the thuggish intimidation that forced LIVE LEAK to remove it.

What happened to all those people who keep telling us "I don't agree with what you say but I'll defend your right to say it ." Where have they all gone? Maybe they're on vacation.

No shortage of politicians, however, lining up to accuse the film of falsely equating Islam with violence, which is a bit like falsely equating Walt Disney with Mickey Mouse.

I'm sure anyone who follows the news would also equate Islam with violence. I know I certainly do because anytime anybody criticises Islam, they're usually threatened with violence. Islam without violence is like an egg free omelet.

The religion is predicated on violence and the threat of violence. It's a 'religion of peace' in the same way that North Korea is a People's 'Democratic' Republic. But we're not allowed to say that, because if we do, we'll be threatened with violence.

When the film was actually removed - under threat of violence - some muslims had the nerve to congratulate LIVE LEAK ' for promoting tolerance' on the internet.
I'll tell you, whenever I think about this stuff now, I think I'm in a hall of mirrors . . .don't you?

To be fair, Dutch muslims do deserve some praise because they could've reacted violently and probably gotten away with it . . .we all know that. So, all credit to them for not exploiting the situation.

But the very fact that we are greatful to them, pretty much proves the point of the film. Because, let's be clear about this, it was the threat of muslim violence that caused the Dutch government to grovel in such abject dhimmitude and to run around apologising like headless chickens before and after the event.

A spectacle which I'm sure many muslims enjoyed - and why shouldn't they enjoy it? After all, it sends out a clear message to the entire muslim world that in Europe, we won't stand up for what we believe in. . .or what we 'say' we believe in and we will be intimidated into silence. All you've got to do is shake your fist and we'll do exactly as we're told.

So, Islam in Europe now enjoys the best of all possible worlds. It's a religion when it wants to be. It's a culture when it wants to be. And it's a race when it wants to be. It gets full rights on all three counts - demanding and getting respect wherever it goes while giving absolutely none. Hence, we were treated recently to the spectacle of the Swiss Foreign Minister degrading herself and her country by putting on a head scarf before she was allowed to meet the homicidal leadership of
Iran. In a cheap betrayal of all the brave women who have been murdered by these violent criminals in the name of Islam.

The Iranian government were among the first to criticise the film too. Taking time out from executing children, again - in the name of Islam, to denounce it roundly. But I'm sure most people realize that this fake outrage is in no way genuine. It's all part of a cynical campaign of intimidation by the Islamic world to force unwanted Islamic values into Western society. And that's why, in every free country they're now aggressive Islamist pressure groups, usually funded by the Saudis, who claim to speak for all muslims, but who actually speak only for a small band of fanatical bigots like themselves - and who are very quick to insult our culture and our values as degenerate and immoral while being themselves ultra-sensitive to any perceived criticism - portraying themselves as victims, as oppressed rather than as the oppressors they are. Knowing that if you repeat the lie often enough people will start to believe it. Mr. Goebbels taught us that little nugget of wisdom and the would be authors of the next hollocaust have learned their lessons well.

Now luckily for me I don't get insulted easily on a personal level, not even if being called a racist kafir as some idiot called me recently. When somebody attacks my culture, well, that's a little different because that's an assault on my values . It diminishes my sense of self worth. I believe it violates my human rights and I think he should be prosecuted as a hate crime. It's irrational, its paranoid and really I think there is only one word to describe it - and that is civilizationphobia.

This is a word I like to use as kind of like umbrella word for a host of different phobias that manifest themselves in Islam. Including elestherophobia (sp?)- fear of freedom. Epistomophobia - Fear of Knowledge. Prosophobia - fear of progress.
Picatophobia - fear of sinning or imaginary crimes. Categeliphobia (sp?)- fear of being ridiculed. Senophobia(sp?)-fear of new things and ideas Keraphobia - fear of gaety (big fear of gaety) and the biggest fear of all of course, gynophobia - fear of women. Islam is terrified of women and thats why all over the internet, you'll find clips from Arab television where along with all the rampant Jew hating and other propaganda aimed at turning children into murderers, you'll find clerics calmly explaining under what circumstances a man may beat his wife in the religion-of-peace. That's right, a man may beat his wife. And they wonder why we don't want this stuff in Europe. If you lay a violent hand on a woman. you're not a man - you're an animal and I don't care how many so called scholars tell you that cowardly brutality is the will of god. Chances are, you've never been on the receiving end of the kind of punishment you like to dish out so freely.

So, I hope the Hindus have it right because if there is any justice you will be reincarnated as a female from a sexual Jew and then you'll find out what a pain it is having to deal with violent primitive dick heads like you.

You know, when I was growing up I never thought I would be ashamed to live in the twenty first century. I thought it was going to be a new golden age. The space age. An age of knowledge and discovery and we'd have shaken off the shackles of superstition by now. Surely we have the technology to reach for the stars. Maybe we can even create paradise right here on earth.

I remember looking forward to it. Well, here we are and what have we got? We've got Islam, a violent, seventh century desert dogma that wants to take over the world, remove our freedom, subjugate women, brainwash children, pursecute Jews and homosexuals and drag us all back a thousand years. And all we can do is make excuses for it for fear of causing offence.

We really are pathetic - aren't we?

You know, I think people living five hundred years from now will look back on this period of history and they'll laugh at us.

For an inkling of what American Muslims would like to gain from the upcoming presidential election or otherwise through our political processes, one only need look at the "issues" presented at the Muslims-For-Obama Web site:

QUESTION: What are issues and recommendations for solutions that are unique to Muslim Americans?

1. A Law against harrassment [sic] of a Muslim women wearing Hijab at the Airport, DMV and other public arenas.

2. Institute a Law to allow Muslim Employees to take a hours off from work for Friday Jummah Prayer.

3. Make the 2 Eid's, recognized National Holidays on Calendars with days off from work.

4. Optional Halal meals in federal buildiings, [sic] public schools and colleges.

5. Provide prayer areas suitable for Salah and Jummah, in public and private facilities. (i.e. Malls, Airports, Universities and government buildings.)

6. Organize a Muslim American group to assist in recommendations for US foreign policy affecting majority Muslim countries.

Just about the only thing missing from this obnoxious wish list for special privilege is the grand enabler of them all: repeal of the First Amendment.


It is an obnoxious list, especially when you break it down and examine what each point means:

1) They loosely define "harrassment" of women who wear the Hijab as being that which happens at airports and the DMV, which are, of course, places where people are required to show their faces.

2) A law allowing Muslims to miss work for Friday prayers? No other religion gets to take hours off every week, so why should Muslims. Islam still only represents 1% of the American population. Christians don't ask for special hours to go to Mass. Instead, Christians have Mass and other services at various hours so that it can suit those who have to work. Additionally, it is Muslim law that Muslims are allowed to make up prayers when their prayers are interefered with by worldly concerns.

3) Make Eid a holiday? Once again, Muslims only represent 1% of the population. No, we should not make Eid a holiday. It's ridiculous enough that all the calendar companies began putting Muslim holidays on their calendar AS A REACTION TO 9/11. And, if you don't think it was a reaction to 9/11, then tell me why it is we started this after 9/11 and not before.

4) Optional halal meals especially for Muslims in schools and federal buildings? Once again, Muslims make up a very small percentage of the population. Should we also provide pig's blood to drink for the Satanists among us? I'm sure many people may think that is an obnoxious comparison, and it is, purposefully. But, the point is, at what percentage of population ought we start making legal changes to allow for various religious practices? And, do we want to encourage all religious practices by making laws? Islam calls for homosexuals and apostates to be put to death. Of course, we won't entertain the idea of honoring those ideas with a law. So, why would we entertain these other ideas?

5) Provide Muslim prayer areas in public places? No. Let them roll around on the floor in public if they want to do so. If I want to pray in public, I do so. No one has ever stopped me. I am a Christian. Christians have this habit of praying while holding hands in a circle. When I have done this in public, no one has complained. And, if they did, I really wouldn't care. If a security guard stopped us, I wouldn't complain. Why is it that Muslims complain all the time?

6) Organize a Muslim group to make recommendations for policy effecting Muslim nations? Fine, as long as it is a private organization.

Why would the Iranians broker a cease fire for Iraq vs Muqtadr?

USA TODAY:

BAGHDAD -- Iranian officials helped broker a cease-fire agreement Sunday between Iraq's government and radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, according to Iraqi lawmakers.

The deal could help defuse a wave of violence that had threatened recent security progress in Iraq.

The goal is not just to defuse violence it is to rid Iraq of Muqtadr, and end violence though WINNING a real peace.

It also may signal the growing regional influence of Iran, a country the Bush administration accuses of providing support to terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere.

Al-Sadr ordered his forces off the streets of Iraq on Sunday. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki hailed al-Sadr's action as "a step in the right direction." It was unclear whether the deal would completely end six days of clashes between U.S.-backed Iraqi forces and Shiite militias, including al-Sadr's.

Osama al-Nujaifi, a Sunni lawmaker who oversaw mediation in Baghdad, said representatives from al-Maliki's Dawa Party and another Shiite party traveled to Iran to finalize talks with al-Sadr.

Iran has close ties with both al-Sadr's movement and al-Maliki, who spent several years in exile there. Al-Nujaifi said the agreement was brokered by the commander of Iran's al-Quds Brigade, which is considered a terrorist organization by Washington.

The Iranians don't want the militias who they control wiped out.

Why would the Iraqi govt agree? Why would we go along except to arrange to get out of town quietly?

A Dutch Muslim woman was thrown out of a public swimming pool for wearing an Islamic-style swimsuit, sparking a row between pool and municipality officials, German news agency DPA reported on Wednesday.

The woman, a convert to Islam, was wearing a "burkini" -- a combination of burqa (the garment Muslim women wear to cover the whole body) and bikini.

She was asked to leave Hanzebad swimming pool in the eastern Netherlands city of Zwolle, some 120 kilometers from the capital Amsterdam.

The municipality says the pool should allow women to wear the burkini, but pool officials said it does not meet regulations and might "scare off" other visitors, DPA reported.

The pool manager said there are special hours set aside for conservative Muslim women and added that the Dutch lady chose to swim outside ladies hours to make a statement.

Discussions are still underway between pool and municipality officials to resolve the matter, the German news agency said.

What is there to discuss? Special hours have been set aside for Muslim women, and they're still not satisfied? Oh, my mistake. She wanted "to make a statement." And just what might that statement be?

But Muslimah "fashions" are not only for the swimming pool and for making statements. Indeed, according to this story at ABC News, burqa makeovers are for both Muslims and non-Muslims:

The burqa is the wardrobe of choice for many Muslim women. It is worn over a woman's daily clothing, usually covering her from head to toe. Today, the burqa has gone designer, popping up on fashion runways in the West, like at this show by Norwegian designers Marked Moskva in Norway earlier this month....The designers reportedly say they are aiming their collection at Muslims and non-Muslims.

Islam The Biggest Religion In The World?

A story came out yesterday that the Vatican has announced that Islam has overtaken Catholicism as the "biggest single denomination" in the world.

This story was number one on Drudge, and it was at the top on most news pages.

But, it is a ridiculous story and here's why:

1) Catholicism is just a sect of Christianity, no matter what the bloated ego of the Papal artistocracy might want to think of themselves.

2) Islam is an entire religion. And, there are sects of Islam, the major ones being Shi'ism, Sunnism, and Sufism. There are also smaller sects.

Comparing one sect of Christianity to the entire religion of Islam is comparing apples to oranges, so it is a non-story.

Why do you think this story was released? It's hard for me to believe the people at the Vatican are so stupid that they don't realize it was a false comparison.

Note from Always On Watch: When the ummah hear that Islam has overtaken Catholicism, the ummah will be hearing that Islam has overtaken all of Christianity. Furthermore, the ummah will interpret the Vatican's statement as proof of the will of Allah, and the Vatican's statement will further embolden the jihadists. Indeed, the ranks of jihadists may grow in numbers.

It's Gettyburg - Maliki needs to CRUSH UTTERLY the Mahdi Army NOW

Now that Al Qaeda in Iraq has been obliterated, it is essential for the growth and security of Iraq, and for it's national identity against Iran, that the Mahdi army be destroyed. War is politics by other means, and the results of the battelfield will be the political future of Iraq.

Muqtadr al Sadr should have been at the least, imprisoned since Khoei was murdered in 2003. There is no excuse for allowing him, or his politics to control ANYTHING MORE. He represent brute force, and intimidation.

BAGHDAD (AP) - Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said Sunday that he was pulling his fighters off the streets nationwide and called on the government to stop raids against his followers and free them from prison.

The Iraqi government quickly welcomed al-Sadr's apparent move to resolve a widening conflict with his movement, sparked Tuesday by operations against his backers in the oil-rich southern city of Basra.

Al-Sadr's nine-point statement was issued by his headquarters in the holy city of Najaf and broadcast through loudspeakers on Shiite mosques. It said the first point was: "taking gunmen off the streets in Basra and elsewhere."

He also demanded that the Iraqi government stop "haphazard raids" and release security detainees who haven't been charged, two issues cited by his movement as reasons for fighting the government.

Followers handed out sweets in Baghdad's main Mahdi Army militia stronghold of Sadr City.

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh called the statement "positive and responsible." But he also warned in a telephone interview broadcast on Iraqi state TV. that security forces would continue to target those who don't follow the order.

"We expect a wide response to this call," he said. "After this announcement, anybody who targets the government and its institutions will be regarded ... as outlaws."

Iraqi security forces have been facing fierce resistance to their crackdown on militia violence in the southern city of Basra.

Dozens of Shiite gunmen stormed a state TV facility in central Basra before al-Sadr's declaration Sunday, forcing Iraqi troops guarding the building to flee and setting armored vehicles on fire.

One of al-Maliki's top security officials was killed in a mortar attack against the palace that houses the military operations center, officials said.

The strength of the resistance to the week-old offensive has taken the U.S.-backed government by surprise, forcing it to come up with a new tactical plan targeting several Mahdi Army strongholds, a government official said.

The official, who was in Basra but spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information, said Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki also had brought in reinforcements and appealed to local tribal leaders to help secure the area.

The prime minister, himself a Shiite, has called the fight "a decisive and final battle" and vowed to remain in Basra until government forces wrest control from militias, including the Mahdi Army that is loyal to radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Hugh Hewitt links a 1995 profile of Obama in the Chicago Reader. It’s worth reading in full. He shares his views on black churches and the Christian Right, and he makes clear his preference for “collective action” over individualism. And at the end, after discussing his participation in Minister Farrakhan’s Million Man March:

“But cursing out white folks is not going to get the job done. Anti-Semitic and anti-Asian statements are not going to lift us up. We’ve got some hard nuts-and-bolts organizing and planning to do. We’ve got communities to build.”

It doesn’t seem like Barack had any real problem with cursing out white folks or making anti-Semitic and anti-Asian statements, it’s just not as productive as he’d like. It’s the same when he discusses the “wonderful preachers” in Chicago. “As soon as church lets out,” he says, “the energy dissipates.” You see it’s not enough to just say “God Damn America” on Sunday, you have to organize your community and get on with the damning come Monday.

Update: Since Hugh’s linked back here…in response to his question (”Did many mainstream Dems join that march?”), the short answer is no. Only two members of Congress attended, as did a couple of mayors (including Marion Barry), Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton. President Clinton gave a speech endorsing the goals of the march, but condemning its organizer.

At the time Clinton said “One million men are right to be standing up for personal responsibility, but one million men do not make right one man’s message of malice and division.” He did not refer to Farrakhan by name, but in retrospect this looks like pretty strong stuff compared to Obama’s “Anti-Semitic and anti-Asian statements are not going to lift us up.” And of course Clinton didn’t actually attend the march.

Dr. Ibrahim al-Khouli, asked, "Are you a heretic?" He then said there was no point in rebuking or debating her, because she had blasphemed against Islam, the Prophet Muhammad and the Koran.

Dr. Sultan said she took those words as a formal fatwa, a religious condemnation. Since then, she said, she has received numerous death threats on her answering machine and by e-mail.

One message said: "Oh, you are still alive? Wait and see." She received an e-mail message the other day, in Arabic, that said, "If someone were to kill you, it would be me."

Dr. Sultan said her mother, who still lives in Syria, is afraid to contact her directly, speaking only through a sister who lives in Qatar. She said she worried more about the safety of family members here and in Syria than she did for her own.

"I have no fear," she said. "I believe in my message. It is like a million-mile journey, and I believe I have walked the first and hardest 10 miles."

The above story appeared in the International section of the New York Times. Never mind that Dr. Sultan and her family are American citizens.

Legal experts:although it may be seen as offensive by some it was not illegal

In the Chicago suburb of Skokie, one out of every six Jewish citizens in the late 1970s was a survivor--or was directly related to a survivor--of the Holocaust. These victims of terror had resettled in America expecting to lead peaceful lives free from persecution. But their safe haven was shattered when a neo-Nazi group announced its intention to parade there in 1977.

The debate was clear-cut: American Nazis claimed the right of free speech while their Jewish "targets" claimed the right to live without intimidation. The town, arguing that the march would assault the sensibilities of its citizens and spark violence, managed to win a court injunction against the marchers. In response, the American Civil Liberties Union took the case and successfully defended the Nazis' right to free speech.

Skokie had all the elements of a difficult case: a clash of absolutes, prior restraint of speech, and heated public sentiment.

The PISS CHRIST caused a scandal when it was exhibited in 1989, with detractors, including United States Senators Al D'Amato and Jesse Helms, outraged that Serrano received $15,000 from the taxpayer-funded National Endowment for the Arts for the work. Supporters argue the Piss Christ is an issue of artistic freedom and freedom of speech. The journal Arts & Opinion describes the controversy as "a clash between the interests of artists in freedom of expression on the one hand, and the hurt such works may cause to a section of the community on the other."^[2]

Sister Wendy Beckett, an art critic and Catholic nun, voiced her approval of Piss Christ. She explained in a television interview with Bill Moyers that she regarded the work as a statement on "what we have done to Christ" - that is, the way contemporary society has come to regard Christ and the values he represents.^[3]

Serrano produced other similar works to much less controversy; Madonna and Child II (1989), for example, in which the subject is similarly submerged in urine, is not nearly as well known.

Some have claimed that Piss Christ violated separation of church and state.^[4][5][6].

Piss Christ was included in "Down by Law," a "show within a show" on identity politics and disobedience that formed part of the 2006 Whitney Biennial. The BBC documentary "Damned in the USA" explored the controversy surrounding "Piss Christ".

2) UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday condemned as "offensively anti-Islamic" a Dutch lawmaker's film that accuses the Koran of inciting violence.

Moon acknowledged efforts by the government of the Netherlands to stop the broadcast of the film, which was launched by Islam critic Geert Wilders over the Internet, and appealed for calm to those "understandably offended by it."

3) Muslim countries warned Friday of strong reactions to an anti-Islam film posted on the Internet by far-right Dutch deputy Geert Wilders, though initial reactions in the Netherlands were calm.

A handful of Muslim countries had responded early Friday, with Iran saying the short movie showed some Westerners were waging a "vendetta" against Islam, and warning of unspecified repercussions.

Bangladesh also said the film could have "grave consequences", while a coalition of Jordanian media said it would sue Wilders and launch a campaign to boycott Dutch products.

The European Union's Slovenian presidency also attacked the film, saying it served "no other purpose than inflaming hatred."

1) NEXT ENERGY NEWS: Massive Oil Deposit Could Increase US reserves by 10x

America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America's Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC's short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant.

In the next 30 days the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) will release a new report giving an accurate resource assessment of the Bakken Oil Formation that covers North Dakota and portions of South Dakota and Montana. With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951. The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present but with prices bottoming out at $10 a barrel back then the report was dismissed because of the higher cost of horizontal drilling techniques that would be needed, estimated at $20-$40 a barrel.

It was not until 2007, when EOG Resources of Texas started a frenzy when they drilled a single well in Parshal N.D. that is expected to yield 700,000 barrels of oil that real excitement and money started to flow in North Dakota. Marathon Oil is investing $1.5 billion and drilling 300 new wells in what is expected to be one of the greatest booms in Oil discovery since Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938.

The US imported about 14 million barrels of Oil per day in 2007 , which means US consumers sent about $340 Billion Dollars over seas building palaces in Dubai and propping up unfriendly regimes around the World, if 200 billion barrels of oil at $90 a barrel are recovered in the high plains the added wealth to the US economy would be $18 Trillion Dollars which would go a long way in stabilizing the US trade deficit and could cut the cost of oil in half in the long run.

The geological model presented by Price in his paper appears solid and is built upon considerable input by North Dakota Geological Survey geologists, samples from the ND Core and Sample Library, and the well files from the Oil and Gas Division.
A sophisticated computer program with extensive data input supplied by the ND Geological Survey and Oil and Gas Division places the Bakken generated value at 200 - 300 BBbls.

Our government should consider doing the same for Dr. Sultan, an American citizen who is the subject of a death threat from an Islamist Cleric, Sheik al-Qarawadi.

Nasser Wahayshi has revived the Al Qaida network in Yemen in a development that challenges the U.S. presence in that Gulf state.

Wahayshi, regarded as a second-generation Al Qaida leader, took a defunct organization, resurrected the Islamic insurgency and has been directing attacks against the U.S. embassy in Sanaa. On March 18, Al Qaida gunners fired three mortars toward the embassy which struck a schoolyard and killed a student and a soldier.

I'm sure we're getting ream of help from the govt of Yemen.

"He is smart and he is daring," a Western intelligence source who tracks Al Qaida said. "That man can do a lot of damage."

Over the last year, Wahayshi has reorganized the Al Qaida network. The network has cells in virtually every region of Yemen and capable of attacking numerous targets.

But Wahayshi has been selective. In an effort to avoid a crackdown by the regime of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Wahayshi has limited his targets to Westerners.

And what if some kufrs are knocked off? They should be in the Hijaz anyway, right?

Yemen is an important sphere in the Al Qaida war against the West. In a new audiotape released on March 24, Al Qaida deputy leader Ayman Zawahari called on Muslims to strike Jewish and American targets.

"Muslims, today is your day," Zawahiri said. "Strike the interests of the Jews, the Americans, and all those who participated in the attack on Muslims," Zawahari said. "Monitor the targets, collect money, prepare the equipment, plan with precision, and then -- while relying on God -- assault, seeking martyrdom and paradise."

Wahayshi is no novice to the world of Islamic terror. He left his home in the Yemeni province of Baydah for Afghanistan in the 1990s and eventually became secretary of Al Qaida founder Osama Bin Laden.

Under Bin Laden, Wahayshi was taught the importance of indoctrination in recruitment. Wahayshi also understood the need for any network to be compartmentalized as well as to communicate with Muslims everywhere.

The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan after the Al Qaida suicide strikes in September 2001 changed everything for Wahayshi. His boss, Bin Laden, fled toward Pakistan.

Wahayshi headed west toward Iran.

Wahayshi and hundreds of other Al Qaida fighters infiltrated Iran. But most of them were caught by authorities. The leading operatives, such as Seif Al Adel, were coopted by Teheran and used to order strikes against enemies of Iran.

The Western sources believe Wahayshi also cooperated with Iran against the West. After nearly two years in Iranian custody, Teheran extradited Wahayshi to Yemen as part of an extradition agreement.

I don't even SEE what the question is about Iran aiding or training salafists and Al Qaeda. Can there be much to distinguish between the muslism brotherhood in palestine (HAMAS) and Al Qaeda? I am disappointed the McCain rather than backing down over the idea of misspeaking did not use that as an opportunity to educate the obviously ignorant reporters.

WHY NOT?

By that point, Al Qaida in Yemen was on the ropes. In 2002, Al Qaida network chief Abu Ali Al Harithi, was killed in a CIA air strike in Yemen. The network sustained a leadership vacuum that nearly destroyed the movement.

Al Harithi was succeeded by Mohammed Hamdi Al Ahdal. But Al Ahdal was captured within several months in the job. By late 2003, the network reached rocked bottom.

Meanwhile, Wahayshi was in jail for what turned out to be a short period. In February 2006, Al Wahayshi and 22 other inmates -- aided by prison officials -- escaped from a maximum security facility in Sanaa. The escape marked the start of the second phase in the war against Al Qaida in Yemen.

Out of prison, Wahayshi re-established Al Qaida his way. The sources said Al Qaida became a centralized organization where Wahayshi made all the decisions.

First came the name: Wahayshi dubbed his network "Al Qaida Organization of Jihad in the South of the Arabian Peninsula." He also ordered the publication of an on-line journal termed Sada Al Malahim, or the Echo of Battles in which he called for recruits.

"Jihad is a religious duty that God has made incumbent," Sada said in its latest edition.

Wahayshi and his aide, Qasim Al Raymi, rebuilt the Al Qaida network and instilled discipline. In June 2007, Wahayshi was announced as the new network chief and ruled out negotiations with the Sanaa government. He also accused Al Qaida veterans of making deals with Yemeni President Ali Abdul Saleh.

"This no-holds-barred approach is a relatively new one in Yemen, where negotiation and compromise are much more common methods," Gregory Johnsen, a leading U.S. analyst on Yemen, said. "Under his leadership, Al Qaida in Yemen has become more strident, better organized and more ambitious than it has ever been before."

The United Nations: Citadel of Evil

The walking compost heap that is U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had issued a statement on the short film Fitna:

I condemn, in the strongest terms, the airing of Geert Wilders’ offensively anti-Islamic film. There is no justification for hate speech or incitement to violence. The right of free expression is not at stake here. I acknowledge the efforts of the Government of the Netherlands to stop the broadcast of this film, and appeal for calm to those understandably offended by it. Freedom must always be accompanied by social responsibility.

The United Nations is the centre of the world’s efforts to advance mutual respect, understanding and dialogue. We must also recognize that the real fault line is not between Muslim and Western societies, as some would have us believe, but between small minorities of extremists on different sides with a vested interest in stirring hostility and conflict.

Actually, the United Nations is the center of the Organization of Islamic Conference's efforts to destroy freedom and murder all who stand in the way of Islamic Law anywhere on the face of the earth.

No doubt those who snivel about "Islamophobia" will accuse me of gross exaggeration. One can argue that Western New Guinea is the most obscure backwater on the face of the earth. The island is inhabited by Melanesians who pose no threat to anyone, except maybe themselves. Unfortunately for them, their primitive island (the second largest in the world) is in close proximity to the moderate Moslem state of Indonesia, OIC member in good standing. The result? Brutal slaughter of the pagan or Christian New Guinea people by the Javanese Empire, while the scum at the U.N. look the other way:

One teenage student is in hospital in a serious condition after being shot in the stomach when Indonesian security forces went on a shooting rampage against local people in the Paniai Lakes region of West Papua two weeks ago. The human rights violation coincides with the visit of Indonesian Defence Minister Sudarsono who is in Australia to attend the East Asia Dialogue Forum. The report from the remote region of Paniai demonstrates the disastrous role that Indonesian combat troops and paramilitary police are having throughout West Papua.

In a report tabled at the most recent session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (2008), the Catholic Office of Justice and Peace in Jayapura (SKP) reported 242 documented individual cases of torture and ill treatment by the security forces in West Papua since 1998.

Finally, SKP found that the use of torture and cruel and degrading treatment by the security forces towards the Indigenous population was both widespread and formed a culture of violence and racism embedded within the security forces.

Matthew Jamieson, spokesperson for Institute for Papuan Advocacy and Human Rights stated today that, "the shooting in Paniai follows the common pattern of indiscriminate violence against indigenous West Papuans. There is virtual legal impunity from prosecution for police and military forces involved in Human Rights abuses. Indonesian forces are stationed throughout West Papua, right down to the village level. The policy of stationing large numbers of combat troops and paramilitary police in every region is proving calamitous for indigenous West Papuans."

"The presence of senior commanding officers in West Papua, such as Burhanuddin Siagian, who have been indicted for 'Crimes Against Humanity' in East Timor, reinforces the culture of violence and impunity within the Indonesian security forces."

Meanwhile Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moonbat continues to cover for the killers. Anything less would be Islamophobia.

Honestly, a high school student could have produced a better Islam-critical animation. That the verses and their "controversial" meanings (when taken out of context) has been explained numerous times is immaterial.

Oddly enough the author doesn't enlighten us with the relevant context. Perhaps he can provide a few links to resources where Westerners can learn about the proper Islamic time and place for terror.

In fact, the only good thing about Fitna is the recitation of the said verses of the Quran. The qari who recited those verses had a melodious voice.

I can relate. Last year, I saw a brief documentary regarding the Nazis. I just couldn't help but gush, "Oh, what sexy uniforms!"

His new animated film reportedly shows the Muslim prophet, accompanied by his child bride Aisha, on the way to a mosque to “deflower” her. Wilders’ film (and the reaction to it) may be humdrum, in comparison!

As the world awaits the release of Geert Wilder’s much anticipated film, “Fitna,” we learn that ex-Muslim Ehsan Jami’s animated feature entitled, “The Life of Mohammed,” will also be released within weeks. Jami (b. 1985) is an Iranian émigré to the Netherlands, and member of the city council of Leidschendam-Voorburg, belonging to the Dutch Labour Party. He was one of two founders of the Central Committee for Ex-Muslims in 2007, is a routine recipient of death threats, and at one point, beatings.

Today from Expatica (Netherlands) we learn that Jami’s animated film on Islam, which “..is bound to come up against opposition. The Contact body for Muslims and the Government has already announced it will take legal steps against the film,” is nevertheless slated to be released April 20th.

An acute decapitation prevention alert may be in order for Mr. Jami, if and when his film is shown, based upon these pre-release details:

“Netwerk [a current affairs program] showed a drawing from the film, which is entitled The Life of Mohammed. The drawing shows the prophet Mohammed in the company of his 9-year-old wife Aisha. The prophet is on his way to a mosque to deflower his bride.”

Obama's Secret Life

Ranting Wright is not the only mentor of hard leftist Obama that should be of concern, at least for those of us who value our liberty. Obama's Communist Mentor by Cliff Kincaid:

In his books, Obama admits attending "socialist conferences" and coming into contact with Marxist literature. But he ridicules the charge of being a "hard-core academic Marxist," which was made by his colorful and outspoken 2004 U.S. Senate opponent, Republican Alan Keyes.

However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his "poetry" and getting advice on his career path. But Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just "Frank."

AIM recently disclosed that Obama has well-documented socialist connections, which help explain why he sponsored a "Global Poverty Act" designed to send hundreds of billions of dollars of U.S. foreign aid to the rest of the world, in order to meet U.N. demands. The bill has passed the House and a Senate committee, and awaits full Senate action.

But you will find it briefly discussed, sort of, in Obama's own book, Dreams From My Father. He writes about "a poet named Frank," who visited them in Hawaii, read poetry, and was full of "hard-earned knowledge" and advice. Who was Frank? Obama only says that he had "some modest notoriety once," was "a contemporary of Richard Wright and Langston Hughes during his years in Chicago..." but was now "pushing eighty." He writes about "Frank and his old Black Power dashiki self" giving him advice before he left for Occidental College in 1979 at the age of 18.

This "Frank" is none other than Frank Marshall Davis, the black communist writer now considered by some to be in the same category of prominence as Maya Angelou and Alice Walker. In the summer/fall 2003 issue of African American Review, James A. Miller of George Washington University reviews a book by John Edgar Tidwell, a professor at the University of Kansas, about Davis's career, and notes, "In Davis's case, his political commitments led him to join the American Communist Party during the middle of World War II-even though he never publicly admitted his Party membership." Tidwell is an expert on the life and writings of Davis.

[Gerald] Horne, a history professor at the University of Houston, noted that Davis, who moved to Honolulu from Kansas in 1948 "at the suggestion of his good friend Paul Robeson," came into contact with Barack Obama and his family and became the young man's mentor, influencing Obama's sense of identity and career moves. Robeson, of course, was the well-known black actor and singer who served as a member of the CPUSA and apologist for the old Soviet Union. Davis had known Robeson from his time in Chicago.

As Horne describes it, Davis "befriended" a "Euro-American family" that had "migrated to Honolulu from Kansas and a young woman from this family eventually had a child with a young student from Kenya East Africa who goes by the name of Barack Obama, who retracing the steps of Davis eventually decamped to Chicago."

It was in Chicago that Obama became a "community organizer" and came into contact with more far-left political forces, including the Democratic Socialists of America, which maintains close ties to European socialist groups and parties through the Socialist International (SI), and two former members of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), William Ayers and Carl Davidson.

For his part, Horne says that Obama's giving of credit to Davis will be important in history. "At some point in the future, a teacher will add to her syllabus Barack's memoir and instruct her students to read it alongside Frank Marshall Davis' equally affecting memoir [but let's not call it indoctrination], Living the Blues and when that day comes, I'm sure a future student will not only examine critically the Frankenstein monsters that US imperialism created in order to subdue Communist parties but will also be moved to come to this historic and wonderful archive in order to gain insight on what has befallen this complex and intriguing planet on which we reside," he said.

Condemnation builds of Dutch anti-Islam film

Muslim countries warned Friday of strong reactions to an anti-Islam film posted on the Internet by far-right Dutch deputy Geert Wilders, though initial reactions in the Netherlands were calm.
Wilders posted his film "Fitna", featuring violent imagery of terror attacks in New York and Madrid intertwined with Koranic texts, on the Internet on Thursday.

A handful of Muslim countries had responded early Friday, with Iran saying the short movie showed some Westerners were waging a "vendetta" against Islam, and warning of unspecified repercussions.

Bangladesh also said the film could have "grave consequences", while a coalition of Jordanian media said it would sue Wilders and launch a campaign to boycott Dutch products.

The European Union's Slovenian presidency also attacked the film, saying it served "no other purpose than inflaming hatred."

In an interview with AFP Wilders said "it was not my intention to cause riots," and he was happy about the mild reaction in the Netherlands.

As part of damage control efforts by the government the Dutch ministers of justice and integration met Friday with organisations representing religious and minority groups to talk about the film ahead of weekly prayers in the country's mosques.

The right-wing Telegraaf paper said that "Friday prayers are crucial," and warned of possible violent reactions to come from abroad especially in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

But the left-leaning Volkskrant said the film "was not as over the top as expected".

Christian paper Trouw summed it up as "'Fitna' offends but does not surprise", while the popular Algemeen Dagblad concluded "the book, the Koran, is better".

On Thursday the Dutch government was quick to say it regretted that the film finally aired, despite calls on Wilders to reconsider.

"The film equates Islam with violence. We reject that interpretation," Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said in a solemn statement a few hours after the film appeared on the LiveLeak video sharing website.

The first minutes of the 17-minute movie show a Koran being opened and the text of a sura from Islam's holiest book, which translated from Arabic implores the faithful to "terrorise the enemies of Allah".

The government said the public prosecutor's office was investigating the film to see if it broke any laws, but the general feeling of legal experts in the Netherlands was that although it may be seen as offensive by some it was not illegal.


The Dutch Prime Minister is upset that Wilders movie equates Islam with violence. And, why is he upset?

Because he's worried that Muslims will become violent.

You know he wouldn't be making statements like this if someone made a movie condemning Christianity as violent.

The Dutch Prime Minister is a coward.

expected to put up with everything.”

Armchair Critic: Blogger who posted "The List of Things That Offend Muslims" deserves to be shot

The growing Muslim indignation over Geert Wilders's movie Fitna manifests anew a phenomenon we have noted here many, many times: when non-Muslims point out that Islamic jihadists commit acts of violence and justify them by reference to the Qur'an, many non-Muslim and Muslim apologists for jihad, include many who are widely known as "moderates" respond by claiming that the one who is pointing out all this is committing an act of "hatred," "bigotry," "Islamophobia," and the like. They don't have a word to say about the actual acts of violence, hatred and supremacism committed by the jihadists -- no, the real villain is the one who reports on these actions.

This has only happened to me, let's see, about 50,000 times, but it never ceases to puzzle me. And now The Armchair Critic is doing the same thing to Kevin Weakley of The Amboy Times, for his celebrated "List of Things That Offend Muslims." The Critic, the illustrious Edroos Alsagoff, says:

You know how much I hate to wish that something really bad happen to
anyone (though at times I have expressed my desire to have someone I truly hate
suffer in death thanks to a speeding bullet train). But I think I have no excuse
to pray that the author of this idiotic post have anything good for him or her.

This guy is a real muppet. I couldn't care to dig up his background
or where he came from for that matter. Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved
to be shot really. This is simply a case of asking for it. Don't even mention
terrorists, this chap could be in real trouble even if he bumped into his Muslim
neighbour, if he has any.

"Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really." Never mind that everything on Weakley's list is linked, and based on actual events. It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that it might be perfectly legitimate to point out the ridiculous rage-mongering that all too many Muslims engage in all too frequently, and to call them on it.

It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that the ones who are actually stirring the s*** are the ones who fly into irrational rage at the sight of ice cream cones and sneakers, and that to say that someone who points out the silliness and irrationality of that rage deserves to be shot indicates that he has already surrendered to violent intimidation -- even as he engages in it himself.

Oh, and Kevin, if this Edroos Alsagoff character is right, it may be time for you to add "The List of Things That Offend Muslims" to..."The List of Things That Offend Muslims."

What To Do If You Are Killed

Word has come to me today that a certain prominent anti-Jihad commentator has had their life threatened by Fatwa. This person has been forced underground. Addresses have been changed. Their words will not be read for now. Voice will not be heard. All contact with the outside world has been snuffed out like a candle, leaving our world that much darker.

Freedom of Speech has been violated. We are one step further from a free soceity, and one step closer to a fear society.

This person is someone you all know and love. You would all care to know about this person's well-being. You would want to know that they are ok.

But, you won't know, because this person's response is to shut down completely, to go silent.

We could criticize this person and say, "They are not brave enough," but that would be absolutely unfair. This person has stood up, as few in this world have stood up.

And, this person is not the first anti-Jihad warrior to shut up in the face of threats. When an anti-Jihadi shuts up, in any manner, the effect is silence. Therefore, no one knows that anything has happened.

I have often thought that, if I were a black man, and someone burned a cross on my lawn, I would leave the burnt cross there for all to see. I would leave it there to shame my neighbors into helping me track down the people who burnt the cross on my lawn in the first place.

A burnt cross on a lawn is a shame on the whole neighborhood. A life threatened for the exercise of free speech IS A SHAME ON OUR WHOLE SOCIETY. Why is it that we all shut up when we are threatened. Would it not be better to announce the threats, every single one of them, publicly?

Is it not the first responsibility of government to ensure the rights of its citizens? Can we not expect to be protected when we are threatened for exercising our God-granted right to Freedom of Speech?

So, here's my question, why is it that, when we are threatened, we shut up? Why do we choose to shuffle off into silence, as if we are the ones who have done something wrong?

Why is it we don't shout the truth from the rooftops, that fascists are threatening to kill us exactly because we have chosen to exercise our freedom.

So, let me tell you the truth. I have had my life threatened on more than one occasion. And, I shut up about it. I thought about calling the police, or the FBI, but somehow, in my mind, it made sense to ignore the threats. They just didn't seem that big a deal.

I have to wonder, though, if I am simply in denial.

"No," I tell myself. "You just aren't that important, Pastorius. Why would anyone want to kill you? For you to think someone would want to kill you is a kind of self-aggrandizement. It's a way for you to feel special."

And, I am right, and I am wrong.

Truth is, hardly anyone knows or cares what I write, and I am safe behind the bunker of my virtual anonymity.

But, I am not the only person at IBA to have been threatened. Another contributor has had to have police protection on occasion.

Another contributor was threatened with a lawsuit by a high official of a Middle East nation.

Another contributor had their name, address, and telephone number published on a white supremacist website, along with the names of their children, their spouse, the address of their business, the details of their charitable contrbutions, and a helpful Google map to their home.

Through backchannels, I know that the close friend of another prominent anti-Jihadi (an organizer) has had his life threatened in very specific manner. Additionally, one of his friends wound up dead under mysterious circumstances. This friend had also been somewhat prominent in organizing the anti-Jihad movement. His family asks that nothing be said about his death.

And, finally, I have noticed that another prominent anti-Jihad blogger appears to have moved to another part of the country, and never said a word about it. The blogger did note, in the comments section, that they had been threatened, but that was all they said publicly. Shortly, thereafter, this blogger seemed to have changed time zones.

And, meanwhile, many of us have been fighting among one another. Backstabbing and sniping and accusing one another of siding with our enemies. I myself have contributed more than my share to that debate.

But, let me ask a question, why is it that we all shut up when we are threatened. Would it not be better to announce the threats, every single one of them, publicly?

Why is it that we tirelessly defend free speech, but then shut up about the fact that our freedom is being directly threatened? The uninitiated might be prone to believe that our paranoia about the loss of free speech is unfounded.

In a free society, people with differing opinions live together in harmony, agreeing not to kill one another if their neighbor’s opinions offend them. Whenever offensive speech is prohibited, the tyrant’s power is solidified.

Is not the tyrant's power also solidified when he is free to make threats in the backrooms of our movement?

Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been criticized for going around the world, lecturing people on the fact that her life is under constant threat, and asking for money to pay for her protection. And yes, it is true there would appear to be something unseemly about the way she makes a spectacle of herself.

But, I think she is doing exactly the right thing. When Ayaan Hirsi Ali makes a spectacle of herself, she makes a specatle of her inevitable martydom. Because, ultimately, some of us are going to be killed. Some of us have already been killed. We would be living in denial to think it can not, also, happen to one of us.

And, if some of us are to be killed, then isn't it better that we leave a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to the scene of the crime, so that no one can deny the reason it happened. Isn't it better that we say,

"On this day, I wrote ..., and on this day, I received this threat because of it"?

I am beginning to wonder if we ought to start a website, or maybe an organization, which will announce these threats. The Religion of Peace announces the terror attacks committed by crazy Muslims everyday. And, I'm glad they do, but that is reactive. Should we not also be pro-active? We are pro-active about exposing the madness of the Jihadis, so why are we not willing to expose it when it is directed squarely at us?

We are only the messengers. We have done nothing deserving of shame. We should not slink off into obscurity.

If they threaten the messenger, we ought to expose them. Then, if they do, indeed, one day kill the messenger, the murder will be the message we send, instead of the message they send.

LHASA, China (AP) - Police closed off Lhasa's Muslim quarter on Friday, two weeks after Tibetan rioters burned down the city's mosque during the largest anti- Chinese protests in nearly two decades.

Officers blockaded streets into the area, allowing in only area residents and worshippers observing the Muslim day of prayer. A heavy security presence continued in other parts of Lhasa's old city as cleanup crews waded through the destruction inflicted when days of initially peaceful protests turned deadly on March 14.

It was not clear why the area was cordoned off, although rioters had targeted businesses belonging to Chinese Muslim migrants known as Hui, who control much of Lhasa's commerce.

The protests were the most-sustained challenge to China's rule in the Himalayan region since 1989.

EU Springs into Action, Condemns 'Fitna'

Following the release of Geert Wilders’ film Fitna, the European Union is quick to reassure the Islamic world that the whole idea of “free speech” is probably overrated: EU condemns Dutch anti-Islam film.

(CNN) — The European Union on Friday condemned a new film by a Dutch lawmaker which is critical of Islam and features controversial images of the Prophet Mohammed.

The 15-minute film, titled “Fitna,” was posted on a London-based Web site Thursday. It immediately drew criticism from the Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, who said the film equates Islam with violence.

“We reject this interpretation,” Balkenende said in a statement. “The vast majority of Muslims reject extremism and violence. In fact, the victims are often also Muslims.”

Slovenia, which holds the rotating EU presidency, said it supported the Dutch government’s position and believes the film does nothing to promote dialogue among religions.

“The European Union and its member states apply the principle of the freedom of speech which is part of our values and traditions. However, it should be exercised in a spirit of respect for religious and other beliefs and convictions,” the Slovenian presidency said in a statement.

“Mutual tolerance and respect are universal values we should uphold. We believe that acts, such as the above-mentioned film, serve no other purpose than inflaming hatred.”


Pakistan summons Dutch Ambassador to lodge protest over Fitna

Pakistan has summoned the Dutch ambassador in Islamabad to lodge a protest over a controversial film on Islam, Fitna, published online.

What race is Islam again?

Dutch Muslim leaders appealed for calm and called on Muslims worldwide not to target Dutch interests. The Netherlands is home to around 1 million Muslims out of a population of 16 million.
"Our call to Muslims abroad is follow our strategy and don't frustrate it with any violent incidents," Mohammed Rabbae, a senior Dutch Muslim leader, told a news conference in a mosque in an Amsterdam suburb that is home to many Muslims.

"Looking for conflict there is looking for conflict with us," he added before an imam made a similar appeal in Arabic.

"INFLAMING HATRED"

Dutch authorities reported a calm night in contrast to the unrest that swept the country after the murder by a militant Islamist in 2004 of Dutch director Theo van Gogh, who made a film accusing Islam of condoning violence against women.

Earlier this month, Dutch security officials raised the national risk level to "substantial" because of the forthcoming Wilders film and perceptions of an increased al Qaeda threat.

Wilders, who has been under heavy guard because of Islamist death threats since the murder of director Van Gogh, has seen support for his anti-immigration Freedom Party rise in anticipation of the film to about 10 percent of the vote.

The Dutch government has worked for months to distance itself from Wilders and try to prevent the kind of backlash Denmark suffered over the Prophet cartoons.

In a statement on live television on Thursday evening in both Dutch and English, Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende said he rejected Wilders' views and was pleased by the initial restrained reactions of Dutch Muslim organisations.

The European Union supports the Dutch government's approach and believes the film serves no purpose other than "inflaming hatred", the Slovenian EU presidency said in a statement:

"The European Union and its member states apply the principle of the freedom of speech which is part of our values and traditions. However, it should be exercised in a spirit of respect for religious and other beliefs and convictions."

Mind you, the European Union has never, ever said anything like that regarding attacks on Christianity. The point is not just the double standard; it is that they are allowing violent intimidation to succeed, and that will only lead to more violent intimidation.


Pakistanis protest Fitna

The predicted and predictable outrage begins -- over a film, mind you, that merely depicts how jihadists commit violence and justify it according to the Qur'an. Yet that fact itself has never aroused outrage among significant numbers of Muslims, such that they would be moved, say, to mount protests against it.

KARACHI, Pakistan -- Dozens of Islamists in Pakistan have staged a protest over an anti-Quran film made by a Dutch lawmaker....

Pakistan's largest Muslim party, Jamaat-e-Islami, organized Friday's protest outside a mosque in Karachi.

Some protesters demanded Pakistan cut diplomatic relations with the Netherlands over the film.

Bangladesh has already seen demonstrations against the film.

Kurt Westergaard and his union are contemplating suing Wilders over the unauthorized use of his cartoon to open the film.

NATO is concerned that the film could affect their operations in Afghanistan.
That's an interesting concern - the Taliban who are behind the ongoing instability are featured in the film, along with al Qaeda. They don't need any excuses to attack the West or NATO. They've already got their grievances and demands for non-Muslims to submit to Islam. They could, however, add fatwas for Wilders' death.

The film sets verses of the Koran against a background of images from terrorist attacks.

"The Dutch, enemy of Allah, has done what he threatened to do and distributed his film," said a banner in an Islamist website.

The message is followed by dozens of posts by visitors of the site asking for Muslims to act against him.

"Dear brothers, remember what happened to Ariel Sharon. Now let's hope that he (Wilders) ends up the same way," says a member of the forum.

When Al-Jazeera English decided to enter the US market with their seditious propaganda news organization, they wanted to put an Anglo-Saxon face on their new US channel. I assume they felt the ‘balanced news’ they reported would go down easier if coming from the mouth of an American. One of the reporters they found willing to take the job was "Nightline" reporter Dave Marash.

But it seems Marash has had enough of the anti-American bias at Al-Jazeera English.

Immigration Is The Biggest Mistake In Dutch History

A survey of Dutch citizens shows that over 50% believe that the rampant immigration of the past few years has been the biggest mistake in Dutch history.

AMSTERDAM, 27/03/08 - The majority of the Dutch are negative on Islam and immigration. Additionally, their knowledge of Dutch history is meagre, according to a survey by three history professors.

According to 56 percent of the Dutch, Islam is a threat to the Dutch identity.

As well, 57 percent named admitting large groups of immigrants as "the biggest mistake in Dutch history".

The results come from the History Monitor. This survey was carried out among a representative group of 1,069 people by De Volkskrant newspaper, Historisch Nieuwsblad history journal and TV programme Andere Tijden in consultation with history professors James Kennedy, Niek van Sas and Hans Blom.

The History Monitor presented 20 multiple-choice questions on Dutch history and identity. Only for six questions did over 60 percent know the right answer. The worst answered was the question 'Since which century has the Netherlands been a kingdom'; only 17 percent knew the Netherlands was a republic before the 19th century.

Also remarkable is the self-criticism on the Netherlands' slavery past. Only 21 percent correctly gave the Netherlands a 5 percent share in the world slave trade; the rest estimated a higher share. The researchers attribute the overestimating to a feeling of shame, born of structural and years-long media attention for the dark sides of the dominant role the Netherlands played in the world in the 17th century.

All in all, the average Dutch respondent scored 5.2 for national historical knowledge. Immigrants scored 4.9 percent on average. The over 65s averaged 6.0; conversely, the 16-34 age group averaged just 4.4.


A shamed people is a silenced people, it would seem. So we, the people of the West, have sat on our hands while our governments have imported Muslims by the tens of millions. For what reason? We can't be sure.

History tells us that Islam wants to take over our countries, that it wants to dominate our civilization. This is not the first time Muslims have invaded the West, but it is the first time that we have held the door open and bid them welcome as they came in and began their ransacking of our beautiful world.

How stupid are we? The Dutch seem like they are beginning to realize.

Palestinians Fear Two-Tier Road System

BEIT SIRA, West Bank -- Ali Abu Safia, mayor of this Palestinian village, steers his car up one potholed road, then another, finding each exit blocked by huge concrete chunks placed there by the Israeli Army. On a sleek highway 100 yards away, Israeli cars whiz by.

"They took our land to build this road, and now we can't even use it," Mr. Abu Safia says bitterly, pointing to the highway with one hand as he drives with the other. "Israel says it is because of security. But it's politics."

The object of Mr. Abu Safia's contempt -- Highway 443, a major access road to Jerusalem -- has taken on special significance in the grinding Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For the first time, the Supreme Court, albeit in an interim decision, has accepted the idea of separate roads for Palestinians in the occupied areas.

This month, as some 40,000 Israeli cars -- and almost no Palestinians -- use it daily, the court handed down its decision, one that has engendered much legal and political hand-wringing.

The one-paragraph decision calls on the army to give a progress report in six months on its efforts to build separate roads and take other steps for the Palestinians to compensate them for being barred from Highway 443. It is the acceptance of the idea of separate road systems that has engendered commentary, although legal experts say there is a slight chance that the court could reconsider its approach when it next examines the issue.

"There is already a separate legal system in the territories for Israelis and Palestinians," (of course there is, moron, it's not going to be ONE STATE) said Limor Yehuda, who argued the recent case for the civil rights association on behalf of six Palestinian villages. "With the approval of separate roads, if it becomes a widespread policy, then the word for it will be 'apartheid.' "

Many Israelis and their supporters reject the term, with its implication of racist animus.

"The basis of separation is not ethnic since Israeli Arabs and Jerusalem residents with Israeli ID cards can use the road," argues Dore Gold, president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, a conservative research organization. "The basis of the separation is to keep out of secure areas people living in chaotic areas. If the Palestinian Authority, which has thousands of men under arms, had fought terror, this wouldn't have been necessary."

David Kretzmer, an emeritus professor of international law at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, wrote in an op-ed article in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz of what he called the "judicial hypocrisy" of Israel's reign over the territories manifest in this case.

He said that while the changed security circumstances of recent years may have forced a change in the road's mixed use, "the unavoidable conclusion is that, as unfortunate as this may be, Israelis should not be allowed to travel on the road that was built, let's not forget, for the benefit of the local population.

Fine, then build a separate secure road for the Israelis. Where they can go about their biz without being killed...but that wouldn't be okay either Mr, Kretzmer, I bet, would it?

"But the military government has, of course, decided otherwise: Israelis will be allowed to travel on the road, while Palestinians -- for whom, the court's ruling says, the road was paved -- cannot use it, and access to the road from local Palestinian villages will be blocked."

For many Israelis, however, the dozens of attacks that have taken place on the road in recent years are reason enough to ban Palestinian traffic there and to limit Palestinians to other routes. In 2001, for example, five Israelis were killed by gunfire on Highway 443 and since then a number of others have been injured from stone-throwing.

If Israel has a right to exist, it has a right to security for its citizens, from those who as both polls and elections show desire their death or expulsions. On the day the palestinian peoples give up, or are lead from this idea of killing or expelling the jewish enemy, the corruptors of the world it can begin to change. Until then, what is there even to discuss? The 20 more rockets launched from Gaza in the last 2 days? Or the Hadiths calling for the arabs to kill the jews at the behest of bushes and trees?

Islamic leaders in the Netherlands will ask a court later today to ban a film which accuses the Koran of inciting violence. Dutch MP Geert Wilders launched his film on the internet after local distributors refused to release it. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende added his criticism of the film, saying it was offensive to Muslims.

"The film shows images of violent acts, and holds Islam and the Koran responsible for them. The government condemns such acts and those who commit them. The film equates Islam with violence, and we reject this interpretation. The vast majority of Muslims reject extremism and violence. In fact the victims are often also Muslims."

The film is called "Fitna", a Koranic term sometimes translated as "strife."

It intersperses shots of the 9/11 attacks in New York City, and other bombings blamed on Islamic radicals, with quotations from the Koran.

There have already been widespread protests against the film, and the governments of Pakistan and Iran have made their displeasure very clear.

NATO fears an explosion of Muslim anger could threaten the security of foreign forces in Afghanistan, which include some 1,600 Dutch troops.

First of all, as far as I know, LiveLeak is housed on servers in the US or UK. How does anyone think a Dutch court is going to order a server in the US or UK to take it down? They might be able to order a UK server to take it down because of the EU, but I doubt most US-based servers would listen. Then again, given that Network Solutions declined to run the film and took down Wilders' site, I suppose anything is possible.

More important, at this point, I am sure the film has been downloaded to dozens, if not hundreds of computers throughout the world. While I'm not much of techie, there are many other bloggers who are techies, and I am sure they would continue to host the movie. And no Dutch court can stop them.

However, we also have this in yesterday's Washington Post, apparently before the release of Fitna: The Movie:

The top U.N. rights body on Thursday passed a resolution proposed by Islamic countries saying it is deeply concerned about the defamation of religions and urging governments to prohibit it.

The document, which was put forward by the Organization of the Islamic Conference, "expresses deep concern at attempts to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations."

The resolution "urges states to take actions to prohibit the dissemination ... of racist and xenophobic ideas" and material that would incite to religious hatred. It also urges states to adopt laws that would protect against hatred and discrimination stemming from religious defamation....

The next anti-Islam film announced by Ehsan Jami last year, is an animated film that will be released on 20 April, Jami said Wednesday evening on current affairs programme Netwerk.

Titel: "The Life of Mohammed" ;-)

Jami's production is bound to come up against opposition. The Contact body for Muslims and the Government has already announced it will take legal steps against the film.

Netwerk showed a drawing from the film, which is entitled The Life of Mohammed. The drawing shows the prophet Mohammed in the company of his 9-year-old wife Aisa. The prophet is on his way to a mosque to deflower his bride.

Danish Cartoonist Objects To Image Used In Fitna

It ["Fitna: The Movie"] starts and finishes with a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad with a bomb under his turban, originally published in Danish newspapers, accompanied by the sound of ticking.

Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, who drew the image, said he planned to take legal action on Friday to have it removed from the film, saying it was taken out of context.

"(The cartoon) is aimed at the fanatical terrorists that use interpretations of Islam and the Koran as their spiritual dynamite," he told Danish news agency Ritzau on Thursday.

Supporter of Holocaust Denier Named by Swiss Government to Position of "Expert" on UN Human Rights Council

According to the JTA, Jean Ziegler, a man who praised a Holocaust denier as one of the "leading thinkers of our times" has been appointed by the Swiss government as an "expert" to, get this, the U.N. Human Rights Council.

Not only has Ziegler praised the denier, Roger Gaurady [aka Garaudy] but he has asserted, according to the JTA that "his critics are puppets of his Western opponents".

U.N. Watch has protested to the Swiss government which made the appointment. The Swiss have brushed off these and other critics.

Maybe they are too interested in Iranian oil these days.

This is really an outrage... Though UN critics are probably shrugging their shoulders and saying: "So what else is new?"

Actually, there is something else. Also appointed to the position of an expert was Richard Falk, emeritus professor at Princeton, who, according to the JTA, has compared Israel's treatment of the Palestinians to Nazis.

Three types of identity crisis:

We have a mixed race candidate and his identity crisis. On one hand, he is in bed with African theology, a church with a notorious history of racist, anti Semitic and anti-American preachers. Sermons built to remind white Americans, what life was like before the civil war. Preached by and to those who consider themselves to be eternal victims of a crime, that no amount of blood and lives lost during the war, will ever make up for.

A candidate, who has an obvious connection to Islam. Not only because of his family history, but his ties to Farrakhan.

A candidate who while courting the above, will stand up and denounce them and call for racial unity in a effort to have it both ways.

We have a woman candidate, with a long term history of love/hate in this country. Her identity crisis, comes in the form of baggage, called Bill. Baggage that has the ability to both hurt and help her. If you hated Bill for his politics, you hate Hillary. If you hated Bill because of the blue dress, you either love Hillary because of what she put up with or you hate her, because she did.

Of course, if you loved Bill, you love Hillary. You love her because you get to have Bill back, or you love her, because she is backed by Bill.

Then, you have McCain and his particular identity crisis. The republican, the Republicans hate to love. He's the "demi" Democrat, the soft Republican or the "i'm not a Democrat or a Republican"'s candidate. With John, you have choices. You pick him because your Democratic candidate of choice isn't the Democratic nominee. You pick him because he is tough on ............ and soft on........ Hey, he is the third party candidate in a country that doesn't have one yet.

Of course, if you hate the Democrats, you pick McCain, because he ain't, exactly.

Look at this way. At least we only have three characters in our circus to choose from. Look at all of the countries who have to weed through hundreds.

"Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying at the church," Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, "The View." The interview will be broadcast Friday.


So basically, he didn't know, and if he had, he still wouldn't repudiate him, but he would have left his church.

Russia to US: Scrap Missile Defense
MOSCOW (AP) - Russia's foreign minister laid out a tough negotiating position on America's missile defense plans Thursday ahead of a visit by President Bush, saying the best solution would be for the U.S. to scrap the idea altogether.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russian experts were studying the latest U.S. plans--intended to ease Russian concerns about the proposed missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic--but he reaffirmed Moscow's call for Washington to drop them.

"We are convinced that the best way to assuage Russia's concerns ... will be to abandon such plans and turn to a truly collective project," Lavrov told reporters.

Collective? I thought USSR was dead. Apparently not.

There is only one reason for the USSR I mean Russia to be against the idea of a weapon whose only targets can be incoming weapons designed to attack the USA and its allies. It negates their ability to bully us and our allies via naked and presumed threats.

The USSR, sorry, Russia feels naked without the ability to hold annihilation over the heads of Poland, the Czechs, the Hungarians, the Germans.

This is all we need to understand about how the USSR er, Russia, sees the world and their place in it.

They just want to be sure they can kill you, if they have to, so you can worry about it and do want they want you to.

The Messenger Must Take Control Of The Message

Word has come to me today that a certain prominent anti-Jihad commentator has had their life threatened by Fatwa. This person has been forced underground. Addresses have been changed. Their words will not be read for now. Voice will not be heard. All contact with the outside world has been snuffed out like a candle, leaving our world that much darker.

Freedom of Speech has been violated. We are one step further from a free soceity, and one step closer to a fear society.

This person is someone you all know and love. You would all care to know about this person's well-being. You would want to know that they are ok.

But, you won't know, because this person's response is to shut down completely, to go silent.

We could criticize this person and say, "They are not brave enough," but that would be absolutely unfair. This person has stood up, as few in this world have stood up.

And, this person is not the first anti-Jihad warrior to shut up in the face of threats. When an anti-Jihadi shuts up, in any manner, the effect is silence. Therefore, no one knows that anything has happened.

So, here's my question, why is it that, when we are threatened, we shut up? Why do we choose to shuffle off into silence, as if we are the ones who have done something wrong?

Why is it we don't shout the truth from the rooftops, that fascists are threatening to kill us exactly because we have chosen to exercise our freedom.

So, let me tell you the truth. I have had my life threatened on more than one occasion. And, I shut up about it. I thought about calling the police, or the FBI, but somehow, in my mind, it made sense to ignore the threats. They just didn't seem that big a deal.

I have to wonder, though, if I am simply in denial.

"No," I tell myself. "You just aren't that important, Pastorius. Why would anyone want to kill you? For you to think someone would want to kill you is a kind of self-aggrandizement. It's a way for you to feel special."

And, I am right, and I am wrong.

Truth is, hardly anyone knows or cares what I write, and I am safe behind the bunker of my virtual anonymity.

But, I am not the only person at IBA to have been threatened. Another contributor has had to have police protection on occasion.

Another contributor was threatened with a lawsuit by the high official of a Middle East nation.

Another contributor had their name, address, and telephone number published on a white supremacist website, along with the names of their children, their spouse, the address of their business, the details of their charitable contrbutions, and a helpful Google map to their home.

Through backchannels, I know that the close friend of another prominent anti-Jihadi (an organizer) has had his life threatened in very specific manner. Additionally, one of his friends wound up dead under mysterious circumstances. This friend had also been somewhat prominent in organizing the anti-Jihad movement. His family asks that nothing be said about his death.

And, finally, I have noticed that another prominent anti-Jihad blogger appears to have moved to another part of the country, and never said a word about it. The blogger did note, in the comments section, that they had been threatened, but that was all they said publicly. Shortly, thereafter, this blogger seemed to have changed time zones.

And, meanwhile, many of us have been fighting among one another. Backstabbing and sniping and accusing one another of siding with our enemies. I myself have contributed more than my share to that debate.

But, let me ask a question, why is it that we all shut up when we are threatened. Would it not be better to announce the threats, every single one of them, publicly?

Why is it that we tirelessly defend free speech, but then shut up about the fact that our freedom is being directly threatened? The unititiated might be prone to believe that our paranoia about free speech is unfounded.

Today's Infidel quote of the day is from Robert Spencer. It says:

Once you declare one group off-limits for critical examination or declare that these people must at all costs not be offended, or that if they are, they’re perfectly within their rights to stone, or lash, or imprison, or kill the offender, then you have destroyed free speech.

In a free society, people with differing opinions live together in harmony, agreeing not to kill one another if their neighbor’s opinions offend them. Whenever offensive speech is prohibited, the tyrant’s power is solidified.

Is not the tyrant's power also solidified when he is free to make threats in the backrooms of our movement?

Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been criticized for going around the world, lecturing people on the fact that her life is under constant threat, and asking for money to pay for her protection. And yes, it is true there would appear to be something unseemly about the way she makes a spectacle of herself.

But, I think she is doing exactly the right thing. When Ayaan Hirsi Ali makes a spectacle of herself, she makes a specatle of her inevitable martydom. Because, ultimately, some of us are going to be killed. Some of us have already been killed. We would be living in denial to think it can not, also, happen to one of us.

And, if some of us are to be killed, then isn't it better that we leave a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to the scene of the crime, so that no one can deny the reason it happened. Isn't it better that we say,

"On this day, I wrote ..., and on this day, I received this threat because of it"?

I am beginning to wonder if we ought to start a website, or maybe an organization, which will announce these threats. The Religion of Peace announces the terror attacks committed by crazy Muslims everyday. And, I'm glad they do, but that is reactive. Should we not also be pro-active? We are pro-active about exposing the madness of the Jihadis, so why are we not willing to expose it when it is directed squarely at us?

We are only the messengers. We have done nothing deserving of shame. We should not slink off into obscurity.

If they threaten the messenger, we ought to expose them. Then, if they do, indeed, one day kill the messenger, the murder will be the message we send, instead of the message they send.

Islamic cleric Abu Bakar Bashir has a message for all of you infidels that would like to visit the wonderful exotic islands of Indonesia. Don’t come unless you want a beating.

ISLAMIC cleric Abu Bakar Bashir has returned to his hardline rhetoric with a call for followers to beat up Western tourists and for young Muslims to die as martyrs.

In the sermon, organised by an Islamic youth organisation and delivered a few kilometres from the home village of convicted Bali bombers Amrozi and Mukhlas, Bashir likened tourists in Bali to "worms, snakes, maggots", and specifically referred to the immorality of Australian infidels.

He called for signs to be erected across Indonesia warning tourists they were entering a Muslim area, and directing they cover up appropriately. But in east Java, he urged the Islamist youth to "beat up" foreigners.

"God willing, there are none here," Bashir said. "If there were infidels here, just beat them up. Do not tolerate them."

I wonder what the Indonesian Tourist Bureau has to say about this maggot.

Lighten your heart with Victor Davis Hanson

I read a column the other day by a really idiotic writer who said, "it's like the kamikazes, an endless stream of insurgents." But there was not an endless stream of them in Japan. There was about 7,000 of them; that was it. Finally, at Okinawa, they had to get people inebriated and draft English majors by force out of the university. And at least 30% of them did not reach the target, because they turned back.

There's only a finite supply of people who want to kill themselves, and we've killed a lot of them, and they kill themselves. That's helped. More importantly, we sent a message to the Iraqis. We've sent a message to the Iraqis and to the insurgents that we're not going to leave. John McCain is over there, for all of the controversies that surround him -- he does get the image across that he's a little crazy, and he does not want to leave in defeat.

We ARE a little crazy, you know. We might do anything. The question they have to ask themselves is, do they feel lucky? Huh, punks, do you?

And now suddenly, the approval - I just saw the latest polls - 53% do not want a withdrawal, as the Democrats suggest. That's not unusual. If we were talking right now in the midst of the U.S. Civil War, it would have been almost exactly the same.

In February of 1862 or March of 1862, after Fort Henry and Fort Donaldson were taken, Ulysses S. Grant, the Petraeus of that era, would have been considered a genius. And this was a great idea - you could not let a separate Confederate nation exist side-by-side to a free, non-slaveholding North. Had you had this same conversation April 8th, a day after the Battle of Shiloh - a battle in which the Union and Confederate armies suffered more dead and wounded than every battle in the history of the republic from its inception in 1776, people had turned on the war. If we had had the conversation nearly a year later, July 5th, 1863, with that brilliant victory of Grant at Vicksburg and Meade at Gettysburg, suddenly you couldn't find anybody who had not been for that war all along.

If you fast-forward another year to that horrendous summer of 1864, when the North knew that it was one thing to repel a Southern invader and quite another to take and occupy a country the size of Western Europe, especially when that country had some of the best cavalry officers in the history of civilized warfare, and men like Nathan Bedford Forrest - but anyway, if you'd looked at that summer, think of it - Cold Harbor, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania - in that period of 90 days, the army of the Potomac was essentially wrecked, destroyed - 100,000 casualties. And you had Horace Greeley and other Northern opportunists saying the problem was not that Lincoln was going to lose to McClellan; it was that he shouldn't even run for reelection.

Whatever we think - this is what gets somebody fired at any university in the United States - the truth is, if you talk to somebody in the Middle East and they see the United States not only believes in something, but is crazy enough to defend it, it is a less likely, not a more likely, target.

AT&T CEO Says American Workers Are Defective

Randall Stephenson squats and unloads an obnoxious and slanderous indictment of American workers. Apparently, he considers those people he's been hiring in India and the Phillipines

(you know, the ones who never have a conversation with you, they just read a script, and start over everytime you ask them a question, you know, those people)

are - get this - more qualified than Americans. He says he can't find skilled American workers.

Indeed, he proclaims that American workers are "defective."

Several years back, I swore a solemn oath to God I would never ever use AT&T again for anything. Now, I am swearing that I'm going to tell everyone I ever meet not to use AT&T.

Randall Stephenson is the corporate equivalent of Leona Helmsley. I can't wait for the day when rabble like us grab this guy, and tar and feather him in the street.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Reuters) - The head of the top U.S. phone company AT&T Inc (T.N) said on Wednesday it was having trouble finding enough skilled workers to fill all the 5,000 customer service jobs it promised to return to the United States from India.


"We're having trouble finding the numbers that we need with the skills that are required to do these jobs," AT&T Chief Executive Randall Stephenson told a business group in San Antonio, where the company's headquarters is located.

So far, only around 1,400 jobs have been returned to the United States of 5,000, a target it set in 2006, the company said, adding that it maintains the target.

Stephenson said he is especially distressed that in some communities and among certain groups, the high school drop out rate is as high as 50 percent. The United States needed to make solving that problem a priority, he said.

"If I had a business that half the product we turned out was defective or you couldn't put into the marketplace, I would shut that business down," he said.

Gone are the days, he said, when AT&T and other U.S. companies had to hire locally.

"We're able to do new product engineering in Bangalore as easily as we're able to do it in Austin, Texas," he said, referring to the Indian city where many international companies have outsourced technical and customer support workers.

"I know you don't like hearing that, but that's the way it is."


Well, Randall, I know you're not going to like hearing this, but the days are fast approaching when guys like you will no longer be safe in your homes.

How long do you think Americans are going to put up with the likes of you, Randall? By the way, Randall, you may have noticed that people are moving to this country from all over the world, to give their children the chance to be educated here, and to grow up in this incredible system.

The truth is, America possesses the best educated workforce in the world. Randall is simply spouting an ill-conceived insult as an excuse for his ungrateful corporate behavior. He is angry that Americans are finally demanding that American corporations employ American people. So, instead of accepting this as part of the deal of benefiting from the American system, Randall has decided to insult the American workforce.

Randall is guilty of a stunning lack of gratitude for the blessings America (that would be the American system and the American people) has afforded him.

His lack of gratitude is not at all dissimilar to the moonbats who stand in the streets holding placards damning America.

Randall is an educated corporate moonbat, who can't imagine that he could possibly be hated for his lack of gratitude. He doesn't understand that his position in the American hierarchy is granted him by the American system, and the work of those under him.

He imagines himself to be a king, but what he doesn't remember is that if the king loses the people, he doesn't have a kingdom.

I don't know what forces he thinks he will call in to protect him from the rabble he so carelessly insults. Good luck, Randall.

Botros’s excurses on little-known but embarrassing aspects of Islamic law and tradition have become a thorn in the side of Islamic leaders throughout the Middle East.

...The result? Mass conversions to Christianity — if clandestine ones. The very public conversion of high-profile Italian journalist Magdi Allam — who was baptized by Pope Benedict in Rome on Saturday — is only the tip of the iceberg. Indeed, Islamic cleric Ahmad al-Qatani stated on al-Jazeera TV a while back that some six million Muslims convert to Christianity annually, many of them persuaded by Botros’s public ministry. More recently, al-Jazeera noted Life TV’s “unprecedented evangelical raid” on the Muslim world.

He often begins and concludes his programs by stating that he loves all Muslims as fellow humans and wants to steer them away from falsehood to Truth. To that end, he doesn’t just expose troubling aspects of Islam. Before concluding every program, he quotes pertinent biblical verses and invites all his viewers to come to Christ.

Botros’s motive is not to incite the West against Islam, promote “Israeli interests,” or “demonize” Muslims, but to draw Muslims away from the dead legalism of sharia to the spirituality of Christianity. Many Western critics fail to appreciate that, to disempower radical Islam, something theocentric and spiritually satisfying — not secularism, democracy, capitalism, materialism, feminism, etc. — must be offered in its place. The truths of one religion can only be challenged and supplanted by the truths of another. And so Father Zakaria Botros has been fighting fire with fire.

I think this is really insightful. The question is: how can this be expanded upon?

Muslims are digging themselves a very deep grave, a grave whose depth is measured by the amount of time which passes while they do not condemn the evil being done in the name of their religion.

Muslims have not shown themselves to be interested in fighting against the Jihadis in their midst.

The truth is, there are no moderate Muslim political organizations, academic institutions, governments, or media outlets, of any appreciable size, anywhere in the world.

If there were sizable numbers of Muslims who opposed Jihad, then there would be organizations to represent them.

But, there aren't, so we know the truth: Muslims are ok with 9/11, they're ok with Beslan, with Madrid, and London, and the other 10,000 terror attacks perpetrated in the name of Islam since September 11, 2001.

They're ok with it.

"Discussing Sharia here is an insult to our religion"

Those were the words pronounced by the representative of Egypt in UN when the representative form IHEU tried to discuss Sharia Law to with Human Rights... in the Human Rights Commission from UN. The reason they gave is that it was a "question out of order".

IHEU has responded to claims that the “Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam” is “not an alternative” to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but “complementary” to it. In a written statement to the UN Human Rights Council, IHEU opposed any resolution that seeks to limit the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration.

On Human Rights Day, 10 December 2007, the Pakistani Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Council claimed that the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam, adopted in 1990 by the 56 member states of the Orgainsation of the Islamic Conference “is not an alternative” to the Universal Declaration but “complementary”. Complementary? Yet the Cairo Declaration makes no mention of the Universal Declaration and clearly states that: “All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari’ah”, and “The Islamic Shari’ah is the only source of reference for the explanation or clarification to any of the articles of this Declaration.”

The continuing controversy over Passant Rashad's book, 'Love and sex in the Prophet's Life,' is symptomatic of the increasing influence of religious institutions over the arts in Egypt.

CAIRO, March 25, 2008 (MENASSAT) – Hamada Emam was shocked when he recently turned on el-Hekma (Wisdom), an Egyptian Islamic TV station, and saw his private address being announced to the public at large.

It wasn't long before the phone started ringing with people accusing him of blasphemy and threatening to kill him.The reason for Emam's outing was that he is the publisher of a controversial book, Love and Sex in the Prophet's Life, by 28-year old Passant Rashad.

The book caused an uproar when it was presented at the Cairo International Book Fair in January; it revisits the way the holy scriptures talk about the importance of sex in Islam and the Prophet's own sex life.

"El-Hekma acted in the most unprofessional way," Emam said. He said the station pretended to be a Christian bookshop interested in ordering 200 copies of Rashad's book.

"They recorded the conversation without my permission and put me on the air. Then they screened my phone number to find out my address and they broadcast it."

Passant Rashad herself has gone into hiding since religious leaders called her an infidel on TV and issued a fatwa calling for the faithful to spill her blood.

I interviewed Ayisha (Mohammed's first wife) on my radio show one time, and she said, "Mohammed's penis smelled like pork."

I don't know what that was about, but she seemed perfectly willing to talk about their sex life, and she clearly felt compfortable with the fact that Mohammed was a man with manly needs.

Pope's Baptism Of Muslim Is "Triumphalist Tool"

A Muslim scholar involved in high-level dialogue with the Vatican has denounced the Pope's baptism on Saturday of a prominent Italian Muslim convert.

Aref Ali Nayed, the head of Jordan's Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, called the baptism of journalist Magdi Allam a deliberate and provocative act.

The Vatican has not yet commented, but its official newspaper said the gesture aimed to promote religious freedom.

The Pope traditionally baptises adult converts to Catholicism on Easter eve.

In a stinging rebuke of Saturday's televised ceremony, Mr Nayed denounced what he called "the Vatican's deliberate and provocative act of baptising Allam on such a special occasion and in such a spectacular way".

Mr Nayed has called for greater inter-faith dialogue and good will

"It is sad that the intimate and personal act of a religious conversion is made into a triumphalist tool for scoring points," he said in a written statement.

Mr Nayed said Pope Benedict XVI's actions came "at a most unfortunate time when sincere Muslims and Catholics are working very hard to mend ruptures between the two communities".

The Jordanian scholar has been at the forefront of an initiative gathering more than 130 Muslim scholars who recently wrote to the Pope and other Christian leaders calling for greater dialogue and good will between Muslims and Christians.

The Vatican has also been keen to repair relations with moderate Muslims, particularly after the crisis caused by a speech the Pope gave in Germany in 2006, in which he appeared to associate Islam with violence.

But Mr Nayed added that despite the Vatican's actions, the initiative for dialogue to improve relations would continue.

"Our basis for dialogue is not a tit-for-tat logic of 'reciprocity' but a compassionate theology of mending," he wrote.

The Vatican has not yet commented on the criticism, but its official newspaper L'Osservatore Romano on Tuesday denied that the ceremony had been intentionally inflammatory, noting that it had not been publicised in advance.

The newspaper wrote that the baptism had been a papal "gesture" without hostile intentions aimed at stressing "in a gentle and clear way, religious freedom".


In other words, the Pope has the right to be the Pope, no matter if Muslims like it or not.

Is 'success' of U.S. surge in Iraq about to unravel?

BAGHDAD -- A cease-fire critical to the improved security situation in Iraq appeared to unravel Monday when a militia loyal to radical Shiite Muslim cleric Muqtada al Sadr began shutting down neighborhoods in west Baghdad and issuing demands of the central government.

This assumes that, like peace between HAMAS and any non Muslim, non dhimmi entity, there was some way to achieve security in Iraq while Al Sadr and his militia live. Sadr's death and his militia being CRUSHED are central to the future peace and security of Iraq (and perhaps more).

On Sunday, a barrage of at least 17 rockets hit the heavily fortified Green Zone and surrounding neighborhoods, where both the U.S. and Iraqi government headquarters are housed, according to police. Most of them were launched from the outskirts of Sadr City and Bayaa, both Mahdi Army-controlled neighborhoods.

On Monday, the Sadrists all but shut down the neighborhoods they control on the west bank of Baghdad. Gunmen went to stores and ordered them to close as militiamen stood in the streets. Mosques used their loudspeakers to urge people to come forward and join the protest.

Fliers were distributed with the Sadrists' three demands of the Iraqi government: to release detainees, stop targeting Sadrist members and apologize to the families and the tribal sheiks of the men.

The Iraqi security forces issued a statement promising to deal with those who terrorized shopkeepers and students.

"It's an open sit-in until the government responds to our demands. If the government doesn't respond, we will have our own procedures," said Hamdallah al Rikabi, the head of the Sadr offices in Karkh, in western Baghdad.

Could the situation be any more clear?

Bismarck in reverse. The war and crushing the enemy is politics by other means. Politics are determined by the results on the battlefield.

Time for Sadr and his militia. We have only postponed the pain.

MUSLIMS vs JIHAD?

Who would you want on your side if gang members from the religion of peace surrounded you in a dead end alleyway?
A ‘Moderate’ Muslim?

The same people who tell us that Islam is a religion of peace tell us that Muslims are ‘our greatest allies’ against jihad. That there exists a world of evidence proving both of these assumptions to be empirically false hasn’t yet mattered to those in Washington P.C.
To call Washington’s refusal to know what makes the enemy tick a dereliction of duty is an understatement.
In a sane world, after suffering through George ‘Islam means peace’ Bush’s quarter-assed response to jihad, the current crop of candidates would be publicly quizzed about their knowledge of Islam and the Enemy as being a clear prerequisite to becoming commander in chief.

As to ‘our greatest allies’: Muslims has proven themselves to be mere sheep to their jihadist wolves. While we never hear a peep from Muslims when Infidels are murdered by one of their own, they get jolted from their moral coma only when Islam is slighted by a non-Muslim. And they run to Islam’s rescue as if it were a damsel in distress Muslim brother in distress. They have shown themselves to be not only irrelevant against Jihad, but also sympathetic towards it. It’s something we’re going to have to come to grips with and that they’re going to have to answer for. Muslims as a group are not on our side and, according to Islam, shouldn’t be on our side in any context. I’m speaking mainly about the Muslim Collective, the submitted Muslims who aren't quite jihadists, but sure as hell are not rooting against Jihad either. Which brings me to a great quote from George Orwell that is relevant here, even though it’s about pacifism in wartime, 1942:

"Pacifism is objectively pro-Fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side you automatically help out that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, 'he that is not with me is against me.' "

An essentially identical logic obtains now. Organized terrorist groups have attacked America. These groups wish the Americans to not fight. The American pacifists wish the Americans to not fight. If the Americans do not fight, the terrorists will attack America again. And now we know such attacks can kill many thousands of Americans. The American pacifists, therefore, are on the side of future mass murders of Americans. They are objectively pro-terrorist.”

To further make this important point: Muslim’s haven’t done anything against Jihad and they sure as hell don’t want us to do anything against their 'sacred' Jihad, objectively making them on the side of Jihadists. If Muslims aren’t for the defeat of Jihad, then they’re objectively for its victory and will not lift a finger to challenge it. They need not necessarily act against us to be against us, since some Muslims simply aren’t built to be jihadists, but instead are meant to stand by passively as the Jihad has its way with the world.
The only way we can fully defend ourselves and give Muslims an incentive to proactively reject Jihad is to ruthlessly crush it and bury it once and for all, whatever it takes. In doing so, 'moderate' Muslims will magically pop up all over the world, glad to be alive and having avoided the fate of the jihadists. It’s a start.
Only when the enemy is crushed will the non-Mohammed Muslims be able to take the stage of Islam that the jihadists owned for a thousand years. Then Muslims will be given a chance to join the civilized world and begin making the case for a pacified Islam, or scrap the whole mess entirely. Islam’s fate will be up to them at that point, unless they pull a jihad revival, and then it’ll up to us, because we cannot allow ourselves to be at the mercy of an enemy for whom Nukes are the answer.

If you critisize Islam, you should be sued

If we don't defend freedom of speech, no one will. We just have to consider which countries voted for that UN resolution: countries so respectful of religion as China, North Korea or Burma, autocracies like Russia, together with Islamic teocracies like Iran or Islamic states such as Nigeria, Egypt or Sudan.

Storm Track Disinformation: The Dismantling of Multiculturalism

One of the worst concepts, and there have been many, of the Progressive Left and has done the most damage is multiculturalism.

Salim Mansur wrote in the Edmonton Sun, “It is with the evening of multiculturalism at hand that we can discern how utterly flawed is the liberal notion proclaiming equality of all cultures at the expense of individual freedom, which has guided governments in western liberal democracies for some time.”

He does an excellent job in just a short page of identifying multiculturalism’s flaws and why it should be – and will be dismantled. His argument, and it is so true, is that those liberals who created the concept of multiculturalism belonged to a generation in the West who took freedom for granted. That is, they never had to earn freedom. It was handed to them without the knowledge and experience of how much it cost to attain it.

IDF deploys new anti-terror system around Gaza

Army upgrades its capabilities in the Gaza region: New system combines camera, machine gun and enables IDF troops stationed in operations room to identify and fire at terrorists without risking themselves

First report: A new system deployed by the IDF in the Gaza-region enables soldiers stationed in the operations room to fire at Palestinian terrorists near the Gaza fence, Ynet has learned.
The systems, which are equipped with a camera and a machine gun, enable soldiers to watch any activity that takes place near the fence and if necessary to fire at the push of a button. The new system will soon be officially declared "operational."
n recent months, the IDF Southern Command has integrated the system into its operational routine and instructed IDF field intelligence troops on using it. The system was developed by the Israel Armament Development Authority.

'System not supposed to replace soldiers'

At this time, one system has been deployed north of the Gaza Strip. Additional systems will be deployed along the fence in the near future.

"The system is not supposed to replace soldiers on the ground, and it won't replace the need to charge at terrorists when necessary," an IDF official said.

"We will be able to distinguish between terrorists and innocent civilians," another military official said. "We won't fire needlessly, yet at the same time we are responsible for protecting IDF soldiers."

"Beyond this, through the system we will be able to upgrade our abilities to identify the enemy and thwart attacks in a more effective manner," he said.

Ever since IDF troops left the Gaza Strip, soldiers were able to thwart hundreds of attempts to breach the border fence and carry out attacks. However, IDF officials stress that terror groups are still highly motivated to carry out attacks, prompting the army to constantly improve its defense

How To End "Islamophobia"

The conclusion of this article by Robert Spencer in Human Events:

1. Focus indignation on Muslims committing violent acts in the name of Islam, not on non-Muslims reporting on those acts.

2. Renounce definitively not just “terrorism,” but any intention to replace the U.S. Constitution (or the constitutions of any non-Muslim state) with Islamic Sharia law even by peaceful means.

3. Teach Muslims the imperative of coexisting peacefully as equals with non-Muslims on an indefinite basis.

4. Begin comprehensive international programs in mosques all over the world to teach against the ideas of violent jihad and Islamic supremacism.

5. Actively work with Western law enforcement officials to identify and apprehend jihadists within Western Muslim communities.

Do those things, and “Islamophobia” will vanish.

Once you declare one group off-limits for critical examination or declare that these people must at all costs not be offended, or that if they are they’re perfectly within their rights to stone, or lash, or imprison, or kill the offender, then you have destroyed free speech. In a free society, people with differing opinions live together in harmony, agreeing not to kill one another if their neighbor’s opinions offend them. If offensive speech had been prohibited in the 1770s, there would be no United States of America, and that is one of the reasons for the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Whenever offensive speech is prohibited, the tyrant’s power is solidified. No less in this case, although the tyrant in question is of a different kind.

Instead of being intimidated by the possibility of offending Muslims, we infidels need to crank it up.

Obama's Church Seditious?

Over the weekend, yet another story regarding the questionable associations of presidential hopeful Barack Obama broke. This one involved a bulletin that was passed out among parishioners at Chicago’s Trinity United Church (the church Obama attended for the last twenty years and which until recently was led by militant pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright) on Sunday, July 22, 2007.

Such bulletins, which contain upcoming activities and information from pastors, elders and staff are common to nearly every church. This one however, in its section dubbed “Pastor’s Page” contained information that is certain to deepen the concern and controversy surrounding Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Senator Obama.

At least it will if I have anything to say about it.

Reprinted from a Los Angeles Times article of July 22, 2007 entitled “Hamas’ Stand” by Mousa Abu Marzuq, the article (in the bulletin circulated by Reverend Wright to his flock) is replete with anti-Israel, anti-Semitic sentiments.

Marzuq is among those to whom I refer as “white-collar jihadists,” well-educated, well-spoken but nevertheless extremist Muslims whose mission is to insinuate their doctrine into Western minds (American minds in particular) through well-crafted, soft rhetoric.

Nevertheless, Marzuq is on the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control’s (OFAC) list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists. OFAC is the federal arm of the US Department of the Treasury which “administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, and those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” [From OFAC website]. He also appears in the Anti-Defamation League’s terrorist database.

Obama acted very expeditiously, pointing out that he had already addressed the Wright controversy (in having denounced the preacher’s racist, anti-American leanings) and asserted that he “wasn't in church when that outrageously wrong Los Angeles Times piece was re-printed in the bulletin."

How convenient. And “outrageously wrong?” How about “seditious?”

A couple of things I find noteworthy apropos the issues of Obama’s political ties and questions surrounding his religious leanings are:

1. Information offering deeper insight into these issues is now beginning to surface on an almost daily basis.

2. The self-righteous but decidedly feeble equivocation on Obama’s part regarding his true beliefs and on the part of pundits who have inundated media venues rallying to his defense.

These individuals have engaged in the same sort of misdirection of which I accuse Obama, singing his praises to the heavens, yet themselves acting as apologists for his associations. Their claims of “I didn’t personally hear that” and “I wasn’t there when” are starting to become a bit more than tedious, as is their apparent inability to directly answer challenging questions.

At this point in time, the Obama campaign has enacted a policy of refusing media requests for information relating to the candidate’s whereabouts that would either corroborate or contradict his statements.

So, despite Barack Obama’s eloquent but nebulous denials, once again his allegiance to America and its general well-being comes into question:

Is he the candidate and would-be statesman who (like most Americans) looks upon Hamas and similar groups as terrorist organizations, undeserving of high-ranking American politicians lending their credibility to them?

Is he a stereotypically duplicitous politician who for twenty years has aligned himself with and taken counsel from those who overtly support Hamas (at least) with their sentiments in order to secure political support, or is he closeting his true beliefs on the subject, those being concurrence with anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-white activists?

As for Obama himself, his claim that he has already addressed this issue (a polite but shifty way of saying “shut up and move on”) is itself misdirecting and disingenuous. The fact is that he hasn’t adequately addressed the particulars as regards his intent pertaining to continued and future associations with people such as Reverend Wright and James Meeks, another controversial Chicago pastor with whom Obama has close ties. He has not addressed the incredulity of his assertions that he was not aware of the extremism of these close and long-time associates.


If Obama is willing to associate himself with people who support the terrorist group Hamas, it would not be his first association with terrorism.

And just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water....

U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney, whose district includes much of Martin and St. Lucie counties, is hoping he won't have to attend the Democratic Party national convention in Denver in August.

If he does go, that will mean the Democrats still haven't decided a nominee for the presidential election. And if neither Sen. Hillary Clinton nor Sen. Barack Obama has clinched the nomination by August, Mahoney says we may see a brokered convention, meaning the nominee could emerge from a negotiated settlement.

"If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don't be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket," Mahoney said.

A compromise candidate could be someone such as former vice president Al Gore, Mahoney said last week during a meeting with this news organization's editorial board.

If either Clinton or Obama suggested to a deadlocked convention a ticket of Gore-Clinton or Gore-Obama, the Democratic Party would accept it, Mahoney said.

Oh, man.

On FNC Yesterday

Cowardice and dhimmitude made their appearance yesterday afternoon, when a Fox News Channel anchor said something like this to Ms. Gabriel during a discussion of the Pope's recent baptism of Magdi Allam: "Don't you think that the Pope's baptism should have been done in a less visible manner? Some people might get upset."

In other words, Christianity should tone itself down so as not to offend Muslims.

Huh? What's that?

Turn the situation around, and just imagine the furor if a news anchor suggested during Ramadan season, "How about toning down the Hajj? It upsets non-Muslims." I can see the reaction in my mind's eye right now.

Just take a look at this list of things offensive to Muslims. What doesn't offend them?

I'm sick and tired of all the pandering to Islam, all of the tripe about Islam being a religion of peace." I'm sick and tired of dhimmitude.

If Muslims can't get used to the idea that they don't have a right not to be offended, they shouldn't be living in Western countries. We Westerners are a contentious bunch and are busy "offending" anyone and everyone. So what?

Besides, being offended is part of the victimology mindset, which, in and of itself, leads to stagnation. Is such stagnation what that FNC news anchor wants to promote?

Is the notion that Muslims should be feared by virtue of their numbers and purported militancy racism?

Our 'friends' at the BBC have posed an interesting question.




According to Bostom, Spencer, Steyn and Kuntzel the truth defense renders this void. Islam dictates, they feel, the militancy, and birth rates are what they are. The second issue in the previous sentence is not disputable. But that cannot be said to be a religious issue. Such birth rates can easily be related to other factors, and throughout nations, history and religions.

According to valiant people like this (and they are) those we are concerned with, and their religion are not muslims, and that's not Islam - so why aren't they in the streets, or in front of certain mosques with big signs?. That's' a harsh and dangerous action I look for, but is there a choice?

If academicians such as Bostom, Spencer, and Kunztel are correct, then of course what Khurrum Awan claims as inflammatory incitement is nothign of the kind, simply a statement of fact.

If our friends like Eteraz and Hisham Kabbani and the Naqshbandis are correct then it probably is a bigotry, but that doesn't help anyone since they (can ?) offer no solution to the question of defining Islam in a way that ostracizes the people we are concerned with (maybe we should just use that phrase in a 'find and replace' manner) among the huge percentage of those who think of themselves as proper Muslims, and of the Eteraz's among us as some kind of apostates probably corrupted as Qutb warned.

Somebody, as Spencer says, misunderstands Islam.

Now I don't find, looking at the mullahs that my feelings for them are prejudice. In fact I would say they are a righteous product of reaction TO prejudice. Pick your kind. They have it all. Najas, baby.

I certainly don't find, when I see the MEMRI posts, that the majority of Sunni pronouncements are a litany hope in that way either.

In both camps, it's all Crusaders (the result of muslim invasions of 300 years from ~700-1000 AD) and Zionists.

I see the Tantawis and Qaradawis, the Mesbah Yazdi's, and Jannati's drowning out anything and anyone else. That opposition is invisible signifies. I see the popular result in the Valley of the Wolves. This leads to undeniable effects. The Hisham Kabbani's simply must hope for a better day and must depend on the law here for protection from true bigotry. And how many hate incidents have there been?

On the other hand, while we know that europe is not the easiest place in the world to be assimilated, that doesn't change the issue at hand.

So I understand the natural reaction of law student Khurrum Awan, that is I might if he wasn't being supported by and therefore supporting the Canadian Islamic Congress and their idea that anyone in Israel over 18 is a righteous killing, ANYWHERE in Israel. Add in the incredible bigoted ranting against 'zhoos' in Canada by their leader(s), who 'run Canada by proxy (Mahathir and the OIC)'. And there we are, full circle.

Those who issue the complaints, that generated the question posed, are so tainted with racism that it simply destroys the issue which merits real discussion if they were a Gibran.

Intolerance towards intolerance is a virtue.

Somehow, the BBC seems to miss this, painting the complainants as those who 'abhor radical Islam'...of course, they seem to use it's practice as a yardstick of complaining, being in reality, members. That is precisely the problem. Right now, for better or worse, radical Islam IS Islam.

Jews Fleeing Paris Suburbs

Because of rampant anti-Semitism and the violence which results, Jews are fleeing the Muslim-dominated suburbs around Paris, and moving into neighborhoods which are, effectively, becoming Jewish ghettoes:


Over a period of just three years, roughly half the Jewish families in Villepinte have left. Some have gone to other suburbs or Paris neighborhoods considered safer for Jews; a few have left the country.

Of 300 families three years ago, only 150 remain today, community president Charly Hannoun estimates.

The reason, he says, is anti-Semitism.

Now Villepinte’s 40-year-old synagogue, which was torched in 1991 and 2001, is at risk of closing because there are barely enough regulars for a minyan. Jewish community leaders are wondering if Jews have a future here.

“It’s a whole history that's being erased,” says Hannoun, who worked with contractors and friends to build the town’s synagogue. “It's the end of the synagogue, and I say that with rage in my heart.”

Villepinte is one stark example of what is happening to many Jewish communities in the immigrant-heavy suburbs of the Seine-Saint-Denis region, north of Paris.

Scarred by the surge in anti-Semitism that swept through France between 2000 and 2005, roughly two-thirds of the mostly Sephardic Jews who once lived in these close-knit communities have left town.

Sammy Ghozlan, the president of the Seine-Saint-Denis Council of Jewish Communities, says more than 16,000 Jews have moved out of the suburbs since 2001. Left behind are synagogues weighing whether to close and mostly poor, elderly and religious Jewish families.

Experts say the Jewish flight from the suburbs is changing the demographics of France’s Jewish community and increasing the ghettoization of Jews in the country.

All of France is experiencing the problem, says University of Paris sociologist Shmuel Trigano, the author of "The Future of the Jews in France."

"It is a general shift, not a passing crisis," Trigano says. "The Jewish community is becoming a ghetto. It is no longer a community of choice but a community of necessity. In a democracy that shouldn't happen."

Official IBA Policy: Regime Change At Network Solutions

The people who run Network Solutions must be removed from their positions of authority, and replaced with executives who have respect for the Constitutional system of the United States.

The business they are in is supported by a culture dedicated to Free Speech. Without such a culture, no one would be interested in the internet, thus their business would dry up.

They like the benefits of free speech, but are absolutely unwilling to support free speech themselves. This is not a simple issue of Free Enterprise. Trucking companies have to pay special taxes, because trucks do more damage to the roads than do ordinary automobiles. Network Solutions ought to be willing to support the system which allows them to thrive.

But, they have shown that they aren't, and thus, they need to go down.

Pushing Back - My Conversation With Network Solutions

I just spent 30-40 minutes on the phone with Network Solutions (based in PA), complaining about their removal of the fitnathemovie.com website.Ultimately, I was only able to get as high as a woman named Shannon, the Assistant to the Executive Officer (his name is Roy Dunbar), who gave me a polite brush off, without actually answering any of my questions.

But I was making her very uncomfortable...I could actually hear her blanching over the phone!I explained why I was contacting her (she was already aware of Fitna), and when I was done explaining my gripe (forcefully), she asked me if I had any specific questions for her.So I asked her some specific questions, and informed her they were for an article I was writing for a popular conservative blog...where upon her voice became even gloomier:

1. "Why did you remove a website for TOS violations when there was nothing but a parking page with the text "Coming Soon", and a photo of the Quran?"
She directed my attention to the notice on the page, saying "It is what it is."

2. "Why is an American based company willing to practice preemptive censorship, when there has not yet been any violation?"
Again, she had no answer.

3. "Is it Network Solutions' common practice to remove websites on the day prior to their launch, after months of work have gone into promoting those websites?"
She said she was not aware of such a practice, but she could forward my question upward.

4. I informed her I was in the process of building a new, massive website (true), and that I had planned to host with Network Solutions prior to this debacle (not true).I asked her why American companies should give Network Solutions their business, when her company has demonstrated their willingness to ruin their customers' livelihoods for the sake of political correctness, and their own bottom line?
She just sort of sputtered, told me she understood my point, and assured me she'd look into it.

5. I asked her why an American based hosting company is more concerned about disgruntled Muslims than protecting free speech on the Internet?
Dead silence.

I informed her I knew she was not personally responsible for this debacle (I had been pretty tough on her), and I apologized for what I was going to have to do.

I explained that, unlike radical Muslims, law abiding citizens did not have the option of issuing threats or becoming violent, thus our only recourse is to become such a pain in the ass that companies such as Network Solutions find offending Muslims preferable to the time and resources wasted dealing with us.

Network Solutions action, with regard to the case of Fitna The Movie, is UNPRECEDENTED.

The Washington Post reports that Network Solutions is now, for the first time, blocking access to a site that has not yet put up any substantial content.

The site in question is owned by a Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, who is known for his opposition to Muslim immigrants and the Koran.

Wilders has said that he planned to post a short anti-Koran film on the site, named fitnathemovie.com. Wilders hopes to rally support for banning the Koran in Holland, explaining that the book urges followers to commit acts of violence.

A Network Solutions spokeswoman told the Washington Post that the site was blocked on Saturday night "due to the potential unrest that could follow if Wilders followed through on his pledge to post his film on the site."

The decision by Network Solutions followed warnings and threats that the movie could lead to pro-Moslem violence.

Possibly even more telling was the fact that though no "specific threats" had been received by Network Solutions, the company reminded its employees this week about observing regular physical safety and security measures at work.

The Post reported that Fred von Lohmann, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation - an organization that aims to champion free speech, privacy, innovation, and consumer rights in digital and electronic issues - said it was the first case he'd heard of in which a U.S.-based registrar had preemptively suspended a domain name for violating its use policy.

In his first major public address since a cancer crisis, Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said Sunday that presidential candidate Barack Obama is the "hope of the entire world" ... The 74-year-old Farrakhan, addressing an estimated crowd of 20,000 people at the annual Saviours' Day celebration, never outrightly endorsed Obama but spent most of the nearly two-hour speech praising the Illinois senator.... but the New York Times in describing the very same event, does not even mention Obama once?

I'm just asking. How is that possible?

And one more question. That same New York Times article posits the Brooklyn imam, Siraj Wahhaj, as a possible successor to Louis Farrakahn, to lead the Nation of Islam:

[Wahhaj] quit the Nation years ago but came to the convention here to lead Friday prayers, urging Muslim unity in a sermon liberally sprinkled with quotes from the Koran in fluent Arabic.

In case you didn't know, Wahhaj has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the plot to bomb the World Trade Center in 1993.
