People who pooh pooh the threat of an EMP drive me absolutely nutz.
Imagine it happens at work and you have a fifty mile commute everyday. It's summer.
No air conditioning while you walk down the steps from the 10th floor because there are no elevators no water to drink because the vennding machines are out and so are the water company pumping stations so faucets and fountains are dry the sun's beating down on the blacktop as you walk to your car sweat pouring off only to find that your key fob no longer works and even if you do get in the car it will no longer start so now it's a fifty mile walk home wondering how your family is holding up did your wife get to the school to pick up your second grade daughter and walk home with her.
This is all in just the first ten minutes of your new existance.
