IBA Is Like The Special Olympics Of Blogging

We are a bunch of goofy, or drunken, overly verbose, retards here, with just enough of a mind to cling to our Freedoms and guns, and religions, as we were taught was our right when we sat in Civics class back in our school days.

Get off Obama's back on this one. Have a sense of humor, for God's sake. This is a freaking stupid non-issue. Not even fit for a retard.

'Nuff said.

Not religious and not a gun owner. I must be the odd one, lol.

It's On!: Special Olympian challenges Obama to bowl-off

Heh!

Confirmed: Some Special Olympians have higher bowling scores than Obama

Doi ...just the other day I said IBA reminded me of this at about the 4:15 mark in comments at LGF VS GOV VS THE WORLD

BTW what's significant is not what he said, but the COMPARATIVE RXN.

Imagine if Jeff Sessions had come out with that one.

Careers have ended over other innocently made stupidities when the utterer was not blessed by the progressive halo.

Um, need I remind anyone of macaca?

Oooops, he did it again! (via The Jawa Report)

Yeah, this is unacceptable.

I have a very dear friend, single mother who works very hard and sacrifices much. Has 1 young daughter with no problems but the other has both tuberous sclerosis and autism. She was beyond livid today over this.

Additionally, my cousin's daughter has Asperger's syndrome.

I have no patience for comments like these, nor any sense of humor for it. This man, our President (spit) is a fucking international embarrasment.

I haven't focused on BHO's "gaffe" on the show, although I think that he did make a mistake with the comment.

But I do think that a sitting President shouldn't be appearing in such an entertainment venue as BHO did last night -- particularly when America is in an economic crisis and people are suffering financial woes.

Also, I want a President to be a leader -- not a comedian, particularly while he's in office.

Obama's celebrity is going to backfire on him.

MR,
I'm going to do something rare here. I'm going to disagree with you. No amount of indignation is going to tell me that any of the horrors of the human condition are off-limits to a sense of humor. Humor is born of pain and pathos. It is natural to make fun of that which hurts us.

I make fun of my father's death.

There is a transcendence in humor.

It's a way of saying, I won't let even this defeat me.

Pasto -- Everyone has a line where humor ends.

In truth I'm far more pissed off at the double standard from the left yet again. Macaca may -- may -- have cost Allen the governorship. He was certainly left to twist for it. Same with Trent Lott. Yet silence on this.

That said I do not find this humorous perhaps because of my personal involvement with it. I know how my cousin's daughter or friend's daughter would feel if someone called them a retard. SO for me it's a personal issue and why I only make a brief statement here about what other blogs are really skewering him for.

I don't find humor in the Holocaust. I don't find humor in my father's death -- a death rattle in your ear will scramble your brain a bit, and I don't find humor in this. For myself. I will rarely use the word retard because I find it very distasteful. Other opinions may vary AND THAT'S FINE.

All of this aside I agree, this celebrity will doom him. A sitting President has no place on Late Night TeeVee.

Thing is, you and I just have a different idea about humor.

By the way, I don't think I'm that funny, but I am a comedic personality, basically.

I find everything funny, and I make a joke of everything.

Anonymous,

The God Delusion in Arabic?!!!??!?!??

Now, that's not funny.

:)

There's the crux of it and why I'm not feeling a lot of outrage over this.

It's not even a different idea of humor but a different sense of humor. Your ideas about humor I agree with completely. Gallows humor I find awesome usually. Some folks find something funny, others don't. In this case I didn't, I didn't think it appropriate. Should we be blogging and spending this much cyber ink on it? No, I don't think so.

In fact, the man was making fun of himself with the Special Olympics quip, but chose, too many, a poor way to do it. I always thought Pryor's joking about his own fire problem was hilarious. I know lots of folks who don't. I joke about myself all the time and don't care when other people do.

That's why I'm not really outraged at O for this, I just didn't find it funny. For the personal reasons mentioned earlier.

As for the water head quip I finally saw that part of the clip & I'm not sure he even knew what the epithet meant. Jawa was saying it clearly said tripping including stumbling hand motions. He didn't. He said dripping a large dog made of water dripping around the house.

And if they're gonna hit him for that then they need to hit Leno too because LENO USED THE TERM FIRST.

My peeve is more the same as it has been from the start -- the syncophant media not hitting him on this when they would quickly destroy others who had the R behind their name.

I don't think Obama should have been hit for this IF they had not hit Allen and Lott and all the others (Chrissake they went after Palin because she gave an interview where turkeys were being processed).

Apologies for the late response (& any this weekend). Lots of travel with limited net access.

Anyway, that's the opinion of one big dumb fucking Polack who thinks we got a jihad to worry about and not O's indelicacies. He wants to go to bed with Iran and we're spending time talking about his uncouth comment.

The anti-PC aspect of this is missing the point. What would happen if a Republican said it?

Pastorius said...

MR,
Yep, and that's one of the reasons I put this post up. This is a dumb-assed issue, and if we Conservatives waste our time on it, we make ourselves look stupid, not Obama.

I'm not going to play the game. I'll just say, "I ought to be in the Special Olympics too".

We're all Special Olympics.
