For Central Connecticut State University student John Wahlberg, a class presentation on campus violence turned into a confrontation with the campus police due to a complaint by the professor.
On October 3, 2008, Wahlberg and two other classmates prepared to give an oral presentation for a Communication 140 class that was required to discuss a "relevant issue in the media". Wahlberg and his group chose to discuss school violence due to recent events such as the Virginia Tech shootings that occurred in 2007.
Shortly after his professor, Paula Anderson, filed a complaint with the CCSU Police against her student. During the presentation Wahlberg made the point that if students were permitted to conceal carry guns on campus, the violence could have been stopped earlier in many of these cases. He also touched on the controversial idea of free gun zones on college campuses.
That night at work, Wahlberg received a message stating that the campus police "requested his presence". Upon entering the police station, the officers began to list off firearms that were registered under his name, and questioned him about where he kept them.
They told Wahlberg that they had received a complaint from his professor that his presentation was making students feel "scared and uncomfortable".
"I was a bit nervous when I walked into the police station," Wahlberg said, "but I felt a general sense of disbelief once the officer actually began to list the firearms registered in my name. I was never worried however, because as a law-abiding gun owner, I have a thorough understanding of state gun laws as well as unwavering safety practices."
Professor Anderson refused to comment directly on the situation and deferred further comment.

We must be watchful as there is a silent move by legislators to make it law that gun owners must carry -not guns- but- a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy to own a gun!....

This is an outrage. Both First and Second Amendment Protections have been trampled by both the campus police, the university and the teacher. One might even make the case of illegal search by the State providing a list of the firearms the student had registered. In my opinion ANY gun registration law is unconstitutional.
We are living in the most perilous internal times since the Civil War. The question is which will fall first, The First or Second Amendment? Taking the guns or silencing the speech pointing out they're trying to take the guns. But they won't try an out and out gun grab but make it difficult to own them. Gun registrations, mandatory insurance, microstamping of ammo that makes it so expensive for the manufacturer to produc they will just shut down.
"Making students feel scared and uncofortable." Nanny state response. Bullshit. People like that WANT the state to take care of them, have no interest in self-reliance, taking responsibility for your own safety and that of those you love.

I'm with Wahlberg. 1 armed student at Virginia Tech could have saved many lives while the cops were outside scratching their asses trying to figureout what to do and the fucking media was live on TeeVee Breathlessly reporting every shot they heard. Maggots. There is NO reason an adult student who knows how to handle a weapon should not be allowed to carry that weapon on campus.
In Pa. we are very gun friendly. Easy to get a license for concealed carry, not required for open carry. Can carry anywhere you want except schools (K-12), courthouses/gov't buildings and places posted.
I can't carry at work which galls me to no end but otherwise I'm armed 24/7. If a business posts no firearms (violating this is only a misdemeanor and not a firearms offense but something like disturbing the peace) then they don't get my business.
Ok. Enough. I can feel my blood pressure rising as I type this. You all know where I stand on gun rights I make no secret of it and you've been kind enough to indulge me many times.

second, free speach is and has allways been only for liberal points of view on a campus that guy shouldnt have been surprised. they werent frightened by what he said they dont want anyone to hear it! tis the truth and because its common sense it forces thier NONSENSICAL WORLDVIEW into scrutiny and it cant stand up to scrutiny!

Epanimondas, it's a Catch-22. I'll nail them with the FERPA violation, though. It was the second one on the part of the same lady, who is the one whose actions will also ensure that I in my ICRC case. Of course they promoted her, obviously to send the message that they have no ethical leg to stand on and that they love corruption and violating people's rights.
