The sonsabitches snuck this one in kinda quietly last week. I didn't see or hear much about it.

FUCK OFF!
I told you during the campaign and again now. You have no right nor business forcing me or mine or anyone to ANY type of National Civilian Service. If I'm working for you you are damn well paying me for it. This ain't fucking Beijing.
You bastards work for us. WE pay you. We don't work for you. The Federal government does not exist to put the people to work for it.
It exists at & by the will of the people. For the People. We the People. Period.

Obama Requires YOU to SERVE, H.R.1388, "The Give Act" to reform the National Service Laws

My concerns are many with this Bill. What gives the Government the right to require individuals to give 3 years service under the guise of "volunteer" service? It is not explicit exactly who is required but I think they get the Bill passed and then iron out the details.
It talks about uniforms and "camps." They revise the word "camps" and call it "campus." There is language about Seniors and Community organizations.
Some language in the Bill is particularly disturbing like:
- "leverage Federal investments to increase State, local, business, and philanthropic resources to address national and local challenges;
- encourage national service efforts to address pressing national challenges, such as improving education for low-income students, increasing energy conservation, and improving the health, well-being, and economic opportunities of the neediest individuals in the Nation;
-expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities, including during the summer months, to improve the education of children and youth and to maximize the benefits of national and community service, in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community to children and youth throughout the United States;
- increase service opportunities for our Nation's retiring professionals
-encourage members of the Baby Boom generation to partake in service opportunities
- Civilian Community Corps shall be called the "National Civilian Community Corps"
-the Director determines appropriate "Uniforms"
Why does the Government have to create Laws to make people Volunteer? The Government should NOT legislate Volunteerism.
-How much money will this National program cost?
-Take note of the Miscellaneous Section (Title VI) of the Bill. Very Strange!!!
-Sec. 601. Amtrak waste disposal. -Sec. 602. Exchange program with countries in transition from totalitarianism to Democracy.
From the Misc. section, #6104: (6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational
backgrounds. . .

Well stated - and strongly too!
as to the -NCCC- Starbucks has even been promoting a similar concept---brochures by the napkins and 1/2 & 1/2--I wonder how many other companies our 'dear leaders' have infiltrated...
I'm not advocating boycotting SBs-I have hard working young friends who work there-
Perhaps strongly written letters are in order..

One of the "triggers" under the NH sovereignty resolution was "involuntary servitude" (not including a military draft).
It violates the 13th amendment abolishing slavery.
This Congress and President have considered and/or enacted several laws that seem to violate the Constitution "facially." That is, they seem to be such egregious violations that there is no way they could be enforced without violating the Constitution.
There is a group called the "Congressional Research Service" that could advise the Pres. and Congress about the Constitutionality of proposed legislation - but it does not seem to be utilized by this bunch.
I dunno - seems like the Pres and Members of Congress violate their oaths of office when they sign this stuff.
I keep trying to figure out how to challenge these laws, but, as you probably know, one usually must have "standing" to do so. That means that a person must have an "injury" caused by the law for which a court could provide relief.
Now, I could sue to have my medical information kept out of the federal database, for instance, if the gov't tried to force my dr. to give my info to the feds.
But, unless I or my child is affected by this law, I couldn't sue. I would have to wait until I was arrested by the goons, but by that time, we probably will no longer have independent courts.
But this is so beyond the pale, so totalitarian, so beyond the power of the federal government as set forth in our Constitution, that I think the states should step up and defend their citizens.
We need State Attorneys General and State Governors to stand up to the feds.
However, we cannot say he didn't warn us. Last July, he said that our "security needs require a civilian security force just as well funded and equipped as our military."
My blood froze in my veins when I heard that, but no one in the media ever followed up.
Ro
Exactly, Ro, no one in the media (maybe a few like Hannity) followed up and still aren't. This is huge and I found out it was actually introduced on a blog. Which means a great majority of Americans who are sleepwalking through life are about to be blindsided.

We already have one. It's called Basic Training.
Go through Basic Training in the Armed Services and see real multiculturalism at work. You're thrown into a team that's a mixture of many different cultures and ethnic groups and you are trained to work together and depend on each other because the bottom line is that you are placing your life in his or her hands and he or she is placing theirs in yours - regardless of their cultural background.
Youalso learn that
Definition of mutually exclusive terms ..mutual, fair, mandatory...
Just take everyone into a draft.
EVERYONE.
You graduate high school, and 2 years are gone.
Then college if you choose.
Let's not have any questions about obarmies.
At least in the military you get paid.
The continuation of American fascism. Wilson, FDR, and now Obama.
Stunning.
Well, he told us this was his intention. We can't say we weren't warned.
Obama is too stupid to even understand the irony of slavery/involuntary servitude being re-instituted by the first black president.
If there is any act that Obama has taken to advance the cause of freedom since he has taken office I am unaware of it. He is a tyrant of the worst sort.
I wonder if he even has a clue what is being triggered.
Before the last 2 months, I would have said he is too smart, but now I am not so certain.
I am afraid he is blinded by his ideology and dialectic
He is blinded by hubris, Epa.
