Now we see tax evading Geithner threatening our gas and oil producers.
WASHINGTON, March 4 (Reuters) - U.S. oil and natural gas producing companies should not receive federal subsidies in the form of tax breaks because their businesses contribute to global warming, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told Congress on Wednesday.
It was one of the sharpest attacks yet on the oil and gas industry by a top Obama administration official, reinforcing the White House stance that new U.S. energy policy will focus on promoting renewable energy sources like wind and solar power and rely less on traditional fossil fuels like oil as America tackles climate change.
"We don't believe it makes sense to significantly subsidize the production and use of sources of energy (like oil and gas) that are dramatically going to add to our climate change (problem). We don't think that's good economic policy and we think changing those incentives is good for the country," Geithner told the Senate Finance Committee at a hearing on the White House's proposed budget for the 2010 spending year.
What do these people imagine is going to heat the GM plants they are bailing out?
So far this administration has had the most slipshod appointment processes, most naive Russian foerign policy decisions, most throw allies under the bus attitude (Poland, Czech Repub, Israel), most denigrating attitude towards defensive weapons, most unrealistic attitude about economic realities, and focused more attention on internal political enemies who they wish to portray as saying NO to all the above in a negative frame, than they have on who they have appointed to carry out the naive and unrealistic ideas, all while having about all these things and our energy needs not a plan but a series of slogans, invented by others which they perceive carried them to victory and must have some kind of meaning in the real world.
In short, we are fucked

Something tells me you just don't like liberal ideas. Do you? Well there has been a regime change. It changes at regular intervals. Get used to it.
After 8 yrs of he stole the election BDS you have a lot of damn gall to say get used to it. After 8 yrs of being called every epithet under the sun now we're supposed to just forget it all and make nicey nicey?
Obama's no liberal. He's a socialist.
And it's not liberals themselves I don't like but their policies and whacked out ideas.
Now, since we've never been coy about,if you don't like our expressing exactly what we think of most liberal policies and ideas and specifically what this administration is doing then why do you come around?
Maybe you should get a clue.
We're about open debate and not blindly toeing the line, here.
Get used to it if you want to come through our door.
Here's the thing Craig...I actually are one
I worked in civil rights in the south right in there with them boyz in white
I organized Vietnam protests..ORGANIZED not took part in
My ENTIRE family was unbelievably active in the dem party in NH where we had workers stay in our home for months every four years during primaries....right thru Bill Bradley
The democratic party today is NOT LIBERAL ANY LONGER....get used to it..instead it's motive ideas come from plaes like a man who sold out his fellow co religionists during WW2 to nazis to both stay alive and make money from their seized assets, and says IN HIS OWN BOOKS, his conscience doesn't bother him about it. George Soros. WHo also said in Newsweek that AMerica is hte bar to justice in this world ..he is your MoveOn, Kos, Open Society Institute, HRW, and so on.
Liberal is Henry Jackson, Hubert Humphrey, LBJ, Walter Mondale, Bill Bradley... what the dem party is today is HENRY WALLACE on crack.
Now if you can't manage those facts, you can't debate.
Naively undermining our relationships with new and loyal NATO allies in order to curry imagined favor from a long term rival whose interest is best served by Iran HAVING nukes is not a 'liberal' value.
Telling that rival that you're willing to give up missile defense which 'probably doesn't work' is not SMART DIPLOMACY.
The MIND BOGGLING litany of tax evading appts from Daschle to SOlis to Geithner ET AL, bespeaks the SAME LEVEL of incompetence as Bush, OR WORSE, maybe there are no clean dems, or no clean "qualified" dems,...just look at what is going on with 10% of the Georgia house NOT PAYING TAXES.
The democratic party of today is NOT FDR's, or Truman's. THAT is what built a dominant party. Today BOTH MEN would be seen as xenophobic war criminals.
This party, as we can see by the immediate lack of credibility (6575 today??) DESPITE INCREDIBLE GOOD WILL AT INAUGURATION, has engendered a series of agenda driven acts, NOT SOLUTION DRIVEN ANSWERS, as the Rush phenomenon clearly shows.
Sorry Craig, your opinions that this is all because we don't LIKE liberal opinion is WAY off the mark, especially given the amount of crap we dished out to Bush et al.
Lifelong Democrat here. I never voted for a Republican until Bush in 2004.
I'm pro-gay rights, pro marijuana legalization, dig porn, love my MTV, etc.

My wife is an artist, and I write.
Do I fit any of your stereotypes, Craig?
Oh, and by the way, Craig, I just looked up your profile page. I used to live down the street from Phillip K. Dick.
And, you're wrong.
Robotics is not the only way to achieve AI. In fact, I would venture to say that it is absolutely not how we will achieve the Next Level. The way we will do so is through atomic/molecular computing, which will seamlessly meld with the human brain/body.
Future humans will be super-human, but not un-human.
See, you even got that wrong.
