Obama's Hitler Youth Will Not Be Allowed to Express Religious Beliefs

When you thought it couldn't, it just got worse.

Gateway Pundit:

Obama's Hitler Youth Will Not Be Allowed to Express Religious Beliefs

The House passed the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act on Monday. The bill includes language indicating young people will be forced to participate in mandatory national service programs. The bill also states that "service learning" will be a mandatory part of the youth curriculum. That doesn't sound much like "volunteerism" does it?

The mandatory youth plan requires America's youth to participate in mandatory service youth programs.
But that's not all.
The mandatory youth plan also forbids members from attending religious services and forbids youth from witnessing their religious beliefs.
The Voice Magazine reported, via Free Republic:

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at
least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory
religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.”
That means no church attendance or witnessing.

Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s
wording:

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE
ORGANIZATIONS.

Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as
follows:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE
ORGANIZATIONS.

(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the
following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or
strikes.…

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services,
providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization

midnight rider,

You know, I don't really like Obama, and this does worry me, seriously. But I have been thinking about this carefully. Do you think it might be a bit much to be calling this "Obama's Hitler Youth?" I'm not sure exactly what the people in this mandatory national service program will be required to do. However, do you think it might be a bit much to be comparing this with the Hitler Youth?

Not my title Damien. Took it straight from Gateway Pundit.

I would hesitate to use that specific term on my own, the same way I will not use the term Nazi. To me there is way too much evil associated with those words to use them loosely. In fact if you read what I wrote here http://ibloga.blogspot.com/2009/01/nazi.html you'll get an idea of exactly how I feel. Others may disagree. So be it. But neither will I -- nor should I -- change what someone else wrote.

Now what we hear has been proposed and voted on is creepy and eerily similar to what Hitler did but I can't yet ascribe the same motivation and intended end result to it. Not yet. What they're required to do is of no consequnce as far as I'm concerned. The fact that it exists alone is plain wrong. But it bears very close scrutiny you would agree.

He wants to sweeten the pot by then paying for their college education that changes the equation. But it seems he wants to conscript kids right out of school or something similar.

Anyway no, I'm not ready to use Nazi or Hitler youth to describe O & his crones yet.

Damien,
i think you are right. It is wrong of us to use this term "Obama's Hitler Youth". I'm guilty of this also. I used the title, also taken from Gateway Pundit, in another story a day or two ago.

As MR rightly says, "not yet". Obama just hasn't done anything THAT BAD YET.

Pastorius said...

And, I'm hoping he never does. In fact, I don't think he's a Hitlerian figure. I think he's Carter redux in some ways, with a little bit of Jacques Chirac thrown into the mix.

midnight rider said...

Yes, Carter redux and maye worse/even more incompetant. Kinda reminds me of the Robin Willaims movie where a comedian gets elected President.

Ahmadinejad is a Hitlerian or Hitleresque figure, the enitre Mullah regime Nazi's. Or worse if that's possible. One need only see the atrocities & oppression from Iran to understand that. But Obama is not.

Damien said...

midnight rider,

Yet there are some liberals out there who see Bush as Hitler and condemned him for saying that Iran was a part of an Axis of Evil.

Damien said...

midnight rider,

I agree. I feel the same way too, but in the long run what good would it do other then to just confirm their beliefs? Not to mention beating people up just for saying something stupid is never acceptable. Best way to fight speech is with more speech.

Thus far, Obama is not Hitler ALMOST to the same degree Bush was not Hitler.

Or maybe I should put it this way, Bush was 99% not Hitler, and Obama is 97% not Hitler.

Now, if he does indeed conscript all young adults into involuntary servitude, then he will have inched up about 15-20% on the Hitler scale.

;-)

Like I said, I think Obama is more of a combination of Carter and Chirac.

midnight rider said...

Exactly, Pasto.

I liked your comment, on the other thread, about a certain blogger's ODS.

I'm really getting leery of that shit too.

Instead of Shrugs it's turning into Shrieks.

LOL

That's a good one, MR. I raise my glass to you.

Thank you, good sir.
