All of us, every single man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth were born with the same unalienable rights; to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And, if the governments of the world can't get that through their thick skulls, then, regime change will be necessary.

Infidel Video of The Week
What about that?
I submit as a first entry "Die Glocken von Rom" (The Bells of Rome) sung by Heike Schäfer. It's a corny text with pretty awful rhymes, but in this presentation it gives a whiff of what we are fighting for.
Its a beautiful song. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to have an English translation of the lyrics? I'm kind of wondering what exactly they are signing about.
Well, about the bells of Rome. ;-) It is frightful tripe (not Christian tripe, general tripe). For example: "Zweitausend Jahre gehn zur Neige Und niemand brachte sie zum schweigen." (Which isn't even a proper rhyme.)
"Twothousand years come to an end And nobody could silence them."
"Sie geben uns von allem Kunde Und läuten auch zur letzten Stunde."
"They are telling us about everything And are ringing in [a man's] last hour."
"Und jeder Ton ist ganz verschieden Doch schlagen alle für den Frieden."
And every sound is different Yet they are all ringing for peace."
Frightful rhymes!
The refrain always goes: "Die Glocken von Rom, die Glocken von Ro-ho-hom!"
Actually, it's better not to understand it. I think it's beautiful music, and as I said, I like the images. Plus, "the bells of Rome" carry a strong symbolic meaning germane to this forum.
