Yom Ha Shoah, Counting the Omer, and the World in a Coma....

THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL LIVE!

Shoah is the Hebrew word for "whirlwind." It is the term used to described the conflagration that swept up six million Jewish souls between 1938 and 1945. A war was waged against the Jews in which unspeakable atrocities were perpetrated against a defenseless people. Men and women, young and old alike, were butchered at the hands of the accursed Nazis, may their name be eradicated for all time. Every year, on Yom HaShoah, we remember the martyrs who sanctified the name of G-d in the camps, the ghettos, and in the gas chambers.

Yom HaShoah
(Holocaust Remembrance Day)

  1. Yom HaShoah - How To Remember The Holocaust
  2. Yom HaShoah and Lessons to be Remembered
  3. Community - Then, Now, and Forever
  4. The Sound of Silence
  5. A Vital Transmission

The full name of the day commemorating the victims of the Holocaust is “Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah”— literally the "Day of (remembrance of) the Holocaust and the Heroism." It is marked on the 27th day in the month of Nisan — a week after the seventh day of Passover, and a week before Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day for Israel's fallen soldiers). It marks the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.

The date was selected by the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) on April 12, 1951. The full name became formal in a law that was enacted by the Knesset on August 19, 1953. Although the date was established by the Israeli government, it has become a day commemorated by Jewish communities and individuals worldwide.

This Yom Hashoah we are no closer to a new day than we were in 1938 when the Evian Conference was held on the French side of Lake Geneva, when the civilized world signaled to Hitler that no one gave a damn about the Jews.

2009. Here we are, convening in Geneva again. This time on the Swiss side. On Hitler's birthday, On Yom Hashoah, telegraphing to the entire glowball that absolutely zero has changed. Do not think for one minute the timing of this conference is innocent.

We count the Omer,
we fast, we pray, while the world languishes in a very, very familiar coma. There is nothing new under the sun, and why should today be different than any other day?

Song Of Moses upon it all.

GLOWBALL UNITY THROUGH JEW KILLING!
The making of a global society is in fact the accomplishment of a noble held in the establishment of a common global system that will be run with the participation of all nations of the world in all major and basic decision making processes and the definite route to this sublime goal. Scientific and technical capacities as well as communication technologies have created a common and wider spread understanding of the world society and has provided the necessary ground for a common system.

Nobel Laureate Wiesel Condemns Ahmadinejad At Geneva Meeting
Wiesel called the presence of Ahmadinejad and his opening speech at the UN racism conference on April 20 "an insult to our intelligence."

"Here we are now in the United Nations, an organization created as a response to the atrocities of the Second World War and we have to protest against anti-Semitic speech," Wiesel said.
A UNITED Nations meeting on racism on Tuesday adopted a final declaration against racism, xenophobia and intolerance, a day after an anti-Israel speech by Iran's president triggered a mass walkout.

'Ladies and gentlemen, you have taken a momentous decision to adopt the document,' president of the meeting, Amos Wako said, describing it as a 'historic outcome.'

Wako, the attorney general of Kenya, added that the move 'shows that one can remain constructively engaged and reach a consensus.'

Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has previously called for the Jewish state to be wiped off the map, on Monday criticised the creation of a 'totally racist government in occupied Palestine' in 1948.

He called it 'the most cruel and repressive racist regime.' His speech prompted a walkout by 23 delegations of European Union countries, and a flurry of condemnation from Western nations. -- AFP

BTW? Those who "walked out' all went right back in, EXCEPT for the Czech Republic:
The phenomenon was astonishing. The UN provided a platform for a virulent antisemite on the anniversary of the birth of Adolf Hitler. In the name of fighting intolerance, they translated his words into six languages and broadcast them around the world. As he entered the grand room at the UN's Palais Wilson, he was met by a round of applause. And this is what he said.

He began by denying the Holocaust: The "Zionist regime" had been created "on the pretext of Jewish sufferings and the ambiguous and dubious question of holocaust."

And he continued with a genocidal agenda: "the egoist and uncivilized Zionism have been able to deeply penetrate into their political and economic structure including their legislation, mass media, companies, financial systems, and their security and intelligence agencies. They have imposed their domination to the extent that nothing can be done against their will. As long as they are at the helm of power, justice will never prevail in the world. It is time the ideal of Zionism, which is the paragon of racism, to be broken. The world Zionism personifies racism that falsely resorts to religion and abuse religious sentiments to hide their hatred and ugly faces."

As he spoke, the European Union countries that had not withdrawn earlier finally stood up and walked out. But they didn't really understand what had just happened at all, for when he was finished, all but the Czech Republic went right back in.
The American Response?
U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the UN Alejandro Wolff told reporters after Ahmadinejad's appearance at the conference, "I can't think of any other word than shameful." He said it was a a "vile and hateful speech."

But Wolff then brushed the address aside, making it clear that the evil expressed would not prevent
S. Deputy Ambassador to the UN Alejandro Wolff told reporters after Ahmadinejad's appearance at the

"It does a grave injustice to the Iranian nation and the Iranian people, and we call on the Iranian leadership to show much more measured, moderate, honest and constructive rhetoric when dealing with issues in the region," he said.

U.S. State Department spokesman Robert Wood likewise told reporters in Washington that despite "this horrible rhetoric," America was still hoping to open diplomatic talks with Iran, in keeping with Obama's policy of engagement. "I am not precluding it because we have said very straightforwardly that we want to have direct diplomacy with Iran," Wood said.

Same bullshit as the Euros walking out and then walking RIGHT BACK IN.

"The 23 European countries … walked out all together because the speech by Mr Ahmadinejad was inadmissible," Mr Kouchner told Europe1 radio. "We didn't walk out of the conference and we'll come back."

France questions US boycott of racism conference

France's foreign minister warned Tuesday that the U.S. decision to boycott a U.N. racism conference could be a mistake and hurt efforts to reach out to Iran.

US Weighing Punishing Israel if it Attacks Iran
One of President Obama's closest foreign policy advisers, National Security Council member Samantha Power, is a proponent of ending military aid to Israel in order to force it to negotiate with Iran's Palestinian Islamist proxy, Hamas, and withdraw from all lands taken during the Six-Day War of June 1967. Power also advocates shifting aid to a Palestinian state. Overall, she views Israel as a liability and a historic mistake, in line with the European left position (and that of old-line, right-of-center, American isolationists and anti-Semites). Her antidemocratic admirers in the Democratic Party's (Hillary-hating) left wing agree and are eager for an opportunity to paint Israel as a Jewish North Korea (although they actually have more sympathy for North Korea than for Israel).
US banks want to open branches in Iran

Pope: UN racism conference 'important initiative'

THE RABBI IS CORRECT:

Do not think for one second that the Vatican and this Pope are not fully aware of the real agenda present at Durban.

Pope Benedict's decision to send a Vatican delegation to a United Nations conference on racism has opened a new rift in relations with Jewish groups, who fear it will be used as a platform to attack Israel.

"By participating, the Vatican has given its endorsement to what is being prepared there (against Israel)," Rome's chief rabbi, Riccardo Di Segni, told the Italian newspaper La Stampa.
Iran warns Israel not to attack nuclear sites
But parliament speaker Ali Larijani said if Israel attacked, "Iran will respond in a way that they will not be able to sleep easy anymore."
AMERICA warns Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear sites
Amid increasing suggestions that Israel might attack Iran's nuclear facilities, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates warned this week that such a strike would have dangerous consequences, and asserted that Tehran's acquisition of a bomb can be prevented only if "Iranians themselves decide it's too costly."

Using his strongest language on the subject to date, Gates told a group of Marine Corps students that a strike would probably delay Tehran's nuclear program from one to three years. A strike, however, would unify Iran, "cement their determination to have a nuclear program, and also build into the whole country an undying hatred of whoever hits them," he said.
Yah, that's right. AMERICA. Also in case you forgot GATES is a holdover from the Bush Administration. And his Igor is Bill Raytheon Lynn, who won his position despite his conflicts of interests with a note from the Black Messiah citing UNUSUAL and EXIGENT circumstances.

Ahmadinejad receives 'warm welcome' home after UN summit speech

The state-run news agency IRNA reported a "sensational scene" awaiting Ahmadinejad in Tehran. "People from all walks of life, including university students, [who] had gathered as of the early hours of Tuesday morning, warmly welcomed their political leader at the airport," Irna said. Those who opposed his speech were described as "hooligans"
Eli Wiesel, you hooligan!

Arab world applauds Ahmadinejad's speech amid catcalls for US

THE Iranian President's inflammatory speech to a United Nations conference in Geneva attracted largely positive reaction across the Arab world. Al-Quds, the Palestinian Arabic newspaper published in Jerusalem, led yesterday's issue with its coverage of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech.

"European and Western countries withdrew from the session during the speech of Iranian President as soon as he mentioned Palestine and criticised the establishment of the state of Israel," it said.

Al-Ayyam, published in the large West Bank city of Ramallah, devoted its front page to the walk-out staged by several European nations.

It cast the Ahmadinejad speech as criticism of the way Israel treated Palestinians.

A leading Arabic newspaper published in London and widely read across the Palestinian territories, al-Quds al-Arabi, said the Iranian President had only spoken the truth.

Mr Ahmadinejad "succeeded in exposing the Western double standards and in highlighting the Palestinian just cause when he affirmed in his speech at the opening session of Durban Review Conference Against Racism on the racism of Israel and on how the West solved the Jewish problem at the expense of the Palestinians", the editorial said.

"The European delegations that withdrew from the conference in protest against the speech of Ahmadinejad revealed in the clearest form their support to the Israeli racism and showed that they support the massacres committed against the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the recent aggression on Gaza Strip."

[HASAN CHOP]

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dropped language describing the Holocaust as "ambiguous and dubious" from a speech attacking Israel
Yeah? Mighty fucking white of him.

UN racism talks 'back on track'

"In the drama of yesterday, everyone forgot what the conference is actually about," said Rupert Colville. "I think we are back on track now." His optimism was echoed by French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, who said the meeting is "not at all a failure but the beginning of a success"
Wigged hecklers booted from Durban II
Members of the European Union of Jewish Students also attempted to block the Iranian leader's appearance at a news conference. Heuze said Tuesday the students "have no chance of returning."

I was around 5 y.o. watching TV and Chaplin-Gold Rush was on. I was laughing seeing how he tried to eat his shoes and then I turned to my grandparents. They were holding each other and had tears in the eyes. They told me this is what they did in Siberia.

To survive they used to suck their thumbs or cut small pieces of their leather shoestrings to chew.

Never again.

Below I have cut and pasted a comment from John Jay on Atlas Shrugs. He is commenting on the story about "On Holocaust Remembrance Dayu, Survivor Wiesel Abused. . ."

If it cannot be "never again", at least it cannot be "without serious cost."

Best apologetic for the Second Amendment I have ever read.

pamela & friends:

this entire interview is horror. but, there are moments in it which are simply stunning, as when franz suchomel asserts that the number of 18,000 killed a day at the height of treblinka was an exaggeration, that it is likely the number was roughly 12 to 15,000 only. or, his offhand remark that "... people burn[ed] very well ..." when their bodies were disposed of in the burial pits.

i want you who read this note to consider something.--

the killing line at treblinka, killing upwards of 15,000 people a day, was run by 10 or so german guards, a like number of latvian or ukrainian guards, and 30 or 40 jewish kapo's, in the "blue" and "red" squads, as described by suchomel. no more.

there were no garrisons of soldiers.

the secret? it was that people were kept moving, often at the run and under the whip, so as to admit of no delay that might have given people the chance to comprehend what was happening to them, and to stiffen their resolve. any impediment to this movement to the chambers, such as a halt and frail old woman who could not move, was taken from the line to a nearby pit and shot. always, always, the flow of the people to the gas chambers moved.

and, there was little resistence, and what resistence there was was quelled by the whip.

i have come to a conclusion, after having studied the events of the 20th century, and its mechanized and industrialized and assembly line killing, of the innocents and unarmed.

i feel that it is immoral not to fight to the death in order to preserve one's own life and the lives of friends and family. think of it, thousands of people a day, and none rose to fight or set upon their murderers, to tear them limb from limb by their teeth and nails and whatever implements they could have found, including their executioners own weapons.

10 or 15 armed guards could not have resisted the attack of thousands, who were proximate to them.

equally chilling, to my mind, is the description by suchomel of the mass die off of those jews who realized there would be no reprieve from death, that the situation was hopeless, and the conversations that he as their killer had with them, those whom he would murder, when they told him it was futile, that they were but walking dead. having realized that, why did they not set upon him and tear his throat out with their teeth.

in short, it is immoral not to interrupt the killing machine by resistance. resistance, that the machine would be jammed or halted, was what the germans feared, what all killers fear, ... , for it ends the orderly process of killing, which requires no resources to maintain, which absorbs no combat troops, and which kills surely and efficiently.

i believe that it is a moral imperative for any person caught up in such a situation, to fight to his death and to take, preferably, as many of his killers with him as possible. the doing of any act, no matter how seemingly futile a gesture, which ends the orderly & mechanical killing, which act renders it inefficient and brings it to a halt, no matter how temporary, ... , if repeated by those who are being fed into its great maw, brings an end to the killing, and brings defeat to the killers.

are my remarks insane, because these situations are unimaginable? think, if you will, the numbers killed in mumbai, which could have been averted had those masses of people attacked fought back, instead of fleeing in panic and terror. woo betide the leopard who attacks baboons moving as a troop, for the guards will set upon the leopard and kill him surely, even at the cost of several of their own number. yes, i understand the repugnance that this remark will cause in some, perhaps most, but i stand by it.

i have studied this matter for 40 years. i have read of jews who through themselves into machines at production facilities where they were used as slave labor, to halt the production of war material. who sabotaged such facilities at the sacrifice of their lives. i have not read of a single uprising at a death or labor camp, nor of attacks upon german guards or jewish kapo's.

had the jewish inmates of these camps fought, they most likely would have died. but, unceasing struggle would have brought the administration of the camps as orderly and efficient killing machines to a grinding halt.

friends, it is a moral duty and imperative for you to defend your life, and for you to fight in your own defense, even if it means you life ends immediately, and not a few precious moments later. all aboard flight 93 died, but they saved many others, and had flight 93 been intended for one of the towers, it might still stand.

let me give you two examples.--

1.)those who died on their knees at columbine, and likewise at the campus rampage of their jihadi executioner.

2.)by contrast, kip kunkel, who killed his grandparents with a .22 rifle, and then went to springfield high school, springfield, oregon to exact his fury on his fellow students. when he opened fire in a hallway at the school, he was not met by his fantasy vision of students fleeing in terror, and cowering as they died, but by a group of enraged high school wrestling team members and a male teacher with some grit, who attacked him, wrestled him to the ground, and who would have killed him on hte spot had the adult not restrained them.

i will engender outrage by saying this, but those who surrendered to their fears and their passive deaths did not act morally, either in terms of themselves, nor in terms of their responsibility to their communities, and to humanity. those who disarmed kunkel, acted in the highest expression of moral decisiveness.

we must resolve, we must act, in bitter and violent defense of our own lives, and the life of our community when we are faced with attack like this. we cannot submit passively to such death, but must die on our feet, or on our hands in knees attaching our killers with fingernails and bared teeth, if need be, have we no recourse to other weapons.

the jews who died in the camps did so because they could not conceive others could do this, they did not believe as franz suchomel notes so factually, that the germans would really kill all of them. given that belief, they thought there might be survival if they could wait out their executioners.

we know better. we know that the germans would have killed them all, to the last person, had they been able to keep the killing factories up and running long enough, as was their desire.

we know better, now, what it is to surrender to death.

we are better positioned than the wwii jews.

we must resolve to resist the killing machine at all levels, to attack our executioners at the train station, to swarm upon them when the car doors open, and to die attacking them when they try to heard us into the ovens.

and, we must attack and kill our executioners, when first they decide to become our executioners and when first we discern their designs, before they can implement them and get the assembly lines running.

this is our moral duty, owed by each of us to ourselves, and owed by each of us, one to the other, and to our communities. it is a moral obligation so to act.

as fifel says in "an american tale," are we men or are we mice?

The west walking out on Durban is a farce so they can convince themselves something was done.

Bibi should issue a public short comprehensive finding of the new govt that they BELIEVE IRAN'S THREATS SINCE 1979 and intend to act the instant they believe Iran is ready to turn on a centrifuge chain to reach 90% enrichment. So sorry, earth.

Nothing further should be said.
