"Human rights should not be necessarily in unison with particular western values and standards - Muslims have their own reading of human rights"

Sho nuff, or, Indeed they do

Absolutely: the restrictions on freedom of speech and freedom of conscience, the institutionalized inequality of rights for women and non-Muslims -- it's just a different vision of human rights, you see.

This kind of thinking will appeal to multiculturalists. But imagine what the world would be like if FDR and Churchill had explained in 1940 that Hitler's Germany simply had a different notion of human rights from the one that prevailed in America and Britain, and that the world should respect that.

"Muslims Have Own Human Rights Systems," by Sadeq Dehqan for Iran Daily, May 18:

Head of the Foreign Ministry’s College of International Relations Bahador Aminian on Sunday said western countries have become used to abusing human rights to exert pressure on other countries.

In an interview with Iran Daily he said Iran as an Islamic state continues to promote human rights.

“The definition that Islam renders about human beings and the value system that it offers is what the masses demand from the international community. As such, Iran should not be accused for non-observation of human rights. We believe that the notion of cultural diversity and human rights can open new vistas for human rights-related issues and hence the college has attended to the issue both from academic and diplomatic perspectives,“ he noted.

On the occasion of the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, a two-day international training workshop themed ’Cultural Diversity and Human Rights’ opened at the college on Sunday.

Aminian went on to emphasize that human rights should not be necessarily in unison with particular western values and standards as Muslim communities have their own reading of human rights.

“In the workshop we intend to convey the message that different cultures can offer different subjects which are not necessarily what the West wants to impose on the human race. If we define human rights issues by heeding diverse identities and values, we can reach a better understanding of problems visiting the world and overcome them to a great extent."...

The fight-back has begun in Britainistan. For years the Muslims have been telling us how keen they are on Jihad.

Well now they've got it!

Thanks for sending that over to us, Anonymous.

"Human rights" based on what? The mindset of the particular gang of thugs in power? The wishful thinking and unproven assertions of those who feel threatened by dissent? The neuroses of men who resent their own sexual need for women? The petulance of those who demand protection from having their feelings hurt? All of it backed up by a gun?

One piece of advice to the protestors: don't wear the balaclava, it just makes you look like the jihadists. Get creative with masks to protect your identity. Use them to mock the enemy, make a statement, taunt the jihadists, expose Islam. Emphasize your freedom of expression against their repression and regimentation.

RRA,
You know what's interesting about this to me? The man's name is Aminian. That sounds like an Armenian name to me. I have never met an Armenian who was not acutely aware of the dangers of Islam.

What the hell is with this guy?

Maybe the new generation of Armenians are like the new generation of American Jews, apparently incapable of recognizing a threat when it is wielding a knife in their faces.

Ok, I think I get it now. Bahador is a Farsi name, so the guy is Iranian.

The problem with the West understanding differing definitions, a post I did way back in 2005, is ongoing.

So, what does the Islamic world hear when BHO sings kumbaya?

I just checked the link Anonymous left.

Luton!

Did I not say on last week's radio show that Luton could become a flashpoint for the UK?

See the link and the comments.
