Midnight Rider,

This is one of the times when I have to agree with Christopher Hitchens. That was a very good speech he made, too bad the audio quality seemed a bit low. However I do think I heard it before.

It seems like it may have been made with a cellphone video or maybe a digital camera.

I hadn't heard it before, but I don't know how old it is.

I agree with Hitchens more often than not anymore.

MR, ". . .I don't know how old it is"

The posted video is part two of an event in DC. Part One provided the following details:

Part I of a speech given in a panel at the Claremont Institute in Washington, D.C. on Sep. 18th, 2006 Christopher Hitchens speaks about the threat posed to modern civilisation by Islamic extremists and the failure of the USA government and civil society to react adequately to it.

You can read about his arguments in the part "War" of his book "Love, Poverty and War" in essays he wrote for "The Nation" and "Vanity Fair" as well as on www.slate.com.

The complete discussion on C-SPAN, with Bill Kristol and Mark Helprin is available in much better quality here

Mr. Hitchens so eloquently implies; that we must be vigilant or risk adverse consequences in the not too distant future. He really tells it like it is....is anybody but us listening ?
