An Esteemed English Racist

Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight?
If so, please put up your hands.
Wogs I mean, I'm looking at you. Where are you?
I'm sorry but some fucking wog...Arab grabbed my wife's bum, you know? Surely got to be said, yeah this is what all the fucking foreigners and wogs over here are like, just disgusting, that's just the truth, yeah.
So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. You fucking cunts.
I don't want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should vote for Enoch Powell. Enoch's our man. I think Enoch's right,
I think we should send them all back.
Stop Britain from becoming a black colony.
Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out.
Get the coons out. Keep Britain white.
I used to be into dope, now I'm into racism.
It's much heavier, man.
Fucking wogs, man. Fucking Saudis taking over London.
Bastard wogs.
Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back.
The black wogs and coons and Arabs and fucking Jamaicans and fucking cunts don't belong here, we don't want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don't want any black wogs and coons living here.
We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country. I don't want fucking wogs living next to me with their standards.
This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for fuck's sake?
We need to vote for Enoch Powell, he's a great man, speaking truth. Vote for Enoch, he's our man, he's on our side, he'll look after us. I want all of you here to vote for Enoch, support him, he's on our side. Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!

THIS IS NOT A SPEECH FROM NICK GRIFFIN OR ANYBODY FROM BNP

THIS IS NOT A SPEECH FROM DAVID IRVING

THIS IS NOT A SPEECH FROM A SKINHEAD

NOR IS IT A SPEECH FROM SOME FOOTBALL HOOLIGAN

THIS IS A SPEECH MADE BY A MEDIOCRE GIUTAR PLUCKER WHO HAS MADE A FORTUNE FROM RIPPING OF BLACK MUSIC ARTISTS

"I am a massive racist booby tit, yea i first realised it on tuesday, weeeeeyyy heeey mon the KKK
I AM CLAPTON SEIG HEIL MEIN CLAPTON SEIG HEIL"

* Quoted in Rebel Rock by J. Street. First Edition (1986). Oxford: Basil Blackwell. pp. 74-75. Street's sources are editions of the New Musical Express, Melody Maker and the Guardian and Times newspapers from the time

Eric Clapton has never taken back his comments or compromised his position. As recently as December 2007 he appeared on the South Bank Show and told Melvyn Bragg that he wasn't a racist but still believed Powell's comments were relevant.

Clapton is a talentless racialist, and I hate him almost as much as I hate music and musicians in general.

The reason I despise music is that it is designed to drive our young-ones into an orgiastic frenzy of lust and sexual madness.

Honestly, when I hear the squeal of guitars and the grotesque meanderings of so called "Instrumentalists" and "Pop singers" I just want to grab my gun and kill them all.

If the Lord had wished us to listen to such shite, we would have been born with a set of bongos between our legs.

Screw Clapton, and screw the rest of those filthy muther pluckers.

I HATE THEM ALL!

Thank you for saying what many of us are thinking.

Jungle Music = Jew Music

Inshallah, with people like Shiva & Travis, we can change the world.

Did someone mention orgiastic frenzy of lust and sexual madness?

Clapton really takes pot shots at everything in sight and completely misses the barn, doesn't he. Probably wouldn't know what Sharia was if it bit him.

Silly bugger.

This is about the music mate,,, and melodies are evil......... almost as evil a women and children.

Let's get rid of all the evil in this world...and we can live our lives in peace and submission, in the locker-room of our favorite YMMA.

This is getting really, really weird and confusing. Why do we care what he has ever said - what exactly is the point?

Boycott clapton?

You forgot to mention that this esteemed British Racist is also, by his own admission, a nasty a mean sonofabitch. He was both verbally and physically abusive to his wives. He believed -- especially when drunk or stoned (which was most of his adult life) -- that sex with his wife was his for the taking whether she was up for it or not simply because (1) he was the man and (2) the stature he had risen to.

Pastorius said...

Yeah, what is the point of this post?

I understand the comments better than this post.

Clapton sure is friendly with a lot of black musicians for a racist.

The man was probably fucked up on alcohol or heroin when he said this shit.

As far as I know the man's been a gentleman for quite a number of years now.

So who should give a fuck what Nick Griffin said eleven years ago

BabbaZee said...

Griffin is not a fookin musician

big difference

When Clapton starts a political party or runs for office I'll worry about it then

By the way, Shiva, the idea that white musicians "rip off" rock n' roll from black musicians is a racist canard in and of itself.

The only black rock n' roll musicians from the 50's were Chuck Berry and Little Richard. The rest of them were Rhythm and Blues musicians.

The difference is in the intensity, and the focus on an eighth note beat, rather than a swingin' beat.

Fats Domino was not a rock n' roll musician. He was a rhythm and blues musician.

And, Elvis Presely did something so new with music that it led to the Beatles, Dylan, Led Zeppelin, etc.

There has NEVER been a black musician who has played with the kind of rock n' roll intensity of a band like Zeppelin, Soundgarden, the White Stripes, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction, etc.

It just hasn't happened.

Even Jimi Hendrix, as much as I love him, sounded like he was laying back all the time. It's just a different feel.

One could make an argument that Miles Davis' 70-75 music was more rock n' roll than Jimi Hendrix, because it was more in-your-face intense.

But, the truth is, Miles music was a jazz hybrid of what Miles saw in Hendrix and Sly Stone and James Brown. So, the basic ideas Miles was working with were not of the white rock n' roll style.

Which I will repeat, has never been mined by a single black rock musician (with the possible exception of Jimi Hendrix). And, don't give me any shit about "Living Color", or about the bass player from Little Feat, or about the singer from Hootie and the Blowfish, or whatever else you might pull out of your ass.

I'm talking about intensity and innovation.

NONE of those are innovative.

Oh no!

I am beginning to suspect Old Doctor Pastorius of being filled with Rock & Roll lust and head bangin' sin too!

I Like to listen to Streisand also.

However, so far I can think of only one performer I would look to for political or philosophical sagacity. Slowhand is not him.

Jaco

Who is talking about rock n roll

Clapton was leaching from Rhythm and Blues, and blues artist, even before he joined the Yardbirds Any-way at that time most of the Brits where doing it, notably the Stones and Pretty Things

After the Yardbirds, Clapton became no more than slightly above average AOR and a safe bet for the record companies.

I could name stacks of guitarists
of that era (70,s) that where far superior to Clapton, Bert Jansch, John Renborn, Johnny Winter, Duane Allman, George Benson, Johnny "guitar" Watson, Huw Lloyd-Langton and a host of others

No doubt if you where truthful you could find a whole host of other guitarists who you rank higher

But please don't bring J page into the equation as he is the worst of the worst when it comes to plagarism

Any-way the issue here is racism
and I think that it is disgusting that Clapton was given a free pass at the time, especially the black (blues) musicians he was lifting from. And being under the influence of booze and smack is no excuse. No way would I support a racist junkie.

What I find disturbing is the reaction to my post

It seems most are very selective with there racism/fascism

The British Government with the aid of the BBC and Seachlight have tried to pin down Nick Griffin/BNP for racism. They even had infiltrators filming for several months.

He was taken to court twice and found not guilty twice, so even after six month of under cover filming they could not pin nasty Nick

As for his holo-hoax conviction, he done the time for his crime

Babazees and MR posts struck a raw nerve, and it opened my eyes to how fucked up many American anti-jihadis think about us Europeans, that they think that we would ever let nazis back into power again, is beyond Euro-bashing. It is no wonder that you have lost most of your European contacts.

Europe was flatten, so we know all to well the perils of nazism. If Nick Griffin where only half as bad as the Status Quo paint him, them he would not be getting the support he is getting now.

Strange that when I attack an icon/idol all the american posters here become lizoids

"Eric Clapton has never taken back his comments or compromised his position. As recently as December 2007 he appeared on the South Bank Show and told Melvyn Bragg that he wasn't a racist but still believed Powell's comments were relevant".

If Clapton as late as 2007 still not taken back his comments, then they are still valid to day

Clapton was totally out of order with his WOG remarks the same as Griffin was out of order

But both are right when it concerns Enoch Powell's comments

To-day Clapton is a nazi because he maintains Enoch Powell's comments are valid today

To-day Griffin is a nazi because he maintains Enoch Powell's comments are valid today

To-day the BNP are nazis because they maintains Enoch Powell's comments are valid today

To-day the EDL are nazis because they maintains Enoch Powell's comments are valid today

To-day I am a nazi because I maintain Enoch Powell's comments are valid today

We are nazis because we are sick and tired of our government allowing moslems fuck our country over

well...

Musicians are not political or religious leaders - they are musicians

when and if one of them should become one we;; then I will have to adress what kind of asshole they are but up till that point I got enough on my hands adressesing the racists and assholes that are attempting to lead politically and religiously

and thats all there is to it for me

Shiva,
You said: J page into the equation as he is the worst of the worst when it comes to plagarism

I say: It is true Jimmy Page stole some licks, but he took it to another paradigm competely.

If you can't see that, then you and I are fundamentally different types of people aesthetically, and we can not have a conversation.

It's like arguing that Shakespeare stole the Hamlet story (which he did), but who the fuck cares?

Eric Clapton is not nearly my favorite guitar player, but then neither are Johnny Winter, Duane Allman, or Johnny "Guitar Watson". And, George Benson is a jazz guitarist.

You said Clapton stole his guitar playing from black artists. I'm telling you that is a laughable statement, because what he did with bands like Derek and the Dominoes, Cream, and in his solo projects, was so beyond anything that you have named, it is a downright silly comparison.

Music experienced a quantum leap forward in the late 60's.

The Stones R&B days are vastly inferior to their music of 70-74.

Do you deny that too?

I'm actually not much of a guitar guy, but if you want to know who my favorites are then here's a list:

Pat Metheney
George Benson
Mark Knopfler
David Gilmore
Jimmy Page
Robert Fripp
Adrian Belew
Keith Levine (PIL)
Johnny Marr (The Smiths)
The Edge
Robert Smith (The Cure
Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine)

These guys are all innovators.

Everyone else is a follower, as far as I'm concerned.

Clapton is not among my favorites, but he's sure has had about 100 times the impact of a guy like Johnny Winter

Pastorius said...

As for Clapton never taking that back, he did say he didn't know what he was talking about when he said the things he said.

Do you think that if you were to ask him today, do you think blacks are inferior, that he would say yes?

If he did, I would say he has a problem.

What you have here is a guy who made one stupid statement a long time ago.

And, as Babba pointed out, he's not a political leader, he's just a dumb musician.

I don't know why we ought to treat that as seriously as we treat a political leader.

Many rap artists and heavy metal artists have made terribly bigoted comments. So have many writers. Phillip Roth's novel Operation Shylock is one of the most bigoted books I have ever read. Henry Miller, who is one of my favorite writers tended towards bigotry sometimes in his writing.

I don't abandon artists because they are bigoted, unless they start calling for people to be killed, like Cat Stevens has done.

I expect artists to be fools.

Hell, I ought to, cuz I live among them. I know their type very well.

J page turned me on to all the delta and chicago bluesmen. He and plant talked about their influence on them, the Yardbirds, etc., etc. all the time.

they credited them on their recordings (royalties? dunno).

i went to see gatemouth brown and a bunch of other bluesmen because i learned about them from zep when I was in school.

"Ripped off?" Um, i guess you could call it that. I would use the word "popularize" myself.

Pastorius said...

Anonymous,
I think there were one or two examples where Page and Plant took elements of a song which already existed, rewrote it, and took credit for themselves.

If I am not mistaken, In My Time of Dying was one of those cases.

However, you are right that what they did was give attention to the old bluesmasters.

And, more than anything, they took what the old blues guys did to a whole other level. And, that deserves to be respected if you ask me.
