European nations harbored the man for over thirty years, until finally Switzerland extradited him this past week.

Not only did European nations harbor him, but they celebrated him for his work, and ignored his crime.

Hollywood and the Mainstream American media have done the same.

When you say this 13 year old girl was not raped, I have to question your knowledge of drugs.

Do you know what Quaaludes are?

And also, I have to say this (sadly), have you ever had children of your own? If so, would you want this to happen to your child?

Also, if you read the transcripts, while she may have "consented" (once again, under the influence of Quaaludes which you seem to know nothing about), but she did not consent to anal sex.

There is no use in defending Ronan Polanski, and it is almost impossible to defend Europe from charges that it is complicit in adult/child-sex, and even encouraging of it.

... from the 2005 autobiography of Minister of Culture Frédéric Mitterand, openly homosexual, who was one of the first to rush to Polanski's defense. Here, the future minister is talking about the terrestrial pleasures of a foreign country - possibly Thailand:

"I had to become used to paying for the boys (...) Obviously I had read what they were saying about the boy business here (...) I know what truth there is in it. The widespread poverty, pimps everywhere, the mountains of dollars it brings in while the boys only get a few crumbs, the drugs that destroy, the illnesses, the sordid details of all this traffic. But all of that did not prevent me from returning there. All the rituals of a market for young boys, of the commerce of slaves, excite me enormously (...)

You cannot judge such a sight as anything but abominable from the moral point of view, but it gives me pleasure beyond the point of reason (...) The profusion of very attractive and readily available young boys puts me in a state of desire that I do not have to restrain or hide. Money and sex - I'm right in the heart of my system, the system that finally functions because I know that I will not be refused."

There have been more. I saw one which debuted in 1989. It came highly recommended by cinema critics in the U.S. I took a date to see the movie at an art-house theater, not knowing what the movie was truly about. Needless to say, I never had another date with that woman.

Victim's testimony:

http://blogs.timeslive.co.za/minor/2009/10/01/transcript-from-polanski-trial-should-he-be-sentenced/

The victim testified that after she left the whirlpool bath, Polanski told her to go into a nearby bedroom and lie down.

A: I was going, ‘No, I think I better go home,’ because I was afraid. So I just went and I sat down on the couch.

Q: What were you afraid of?

A: Him.

(a few minutes later)

A: He sat down beside me and asked me if I was OK.

Q: What did you say, if anything?

A: I said, ‘No.’

Q: What did he say?

A: He goes, ‘Well, you’ll be better.’ And I go, ‘No, I won’t. I have to go home.’

Q: What happened then?

A: He reached over and he kissed me. And I was telling him, ‘No,’ you know, ‘Keep away.’

___

After Polanski kissed her, the victim alleged, he began to engage in oral sex.

A: … I was ready to cry. I was kind of — I was going, ‘No. Come on. Stop it.’ But I was afraid.

Q: And what did he say, if anything?

A: He wasn’t saying anything that I can remember. He was — sometimes he was saying stuff, but I was just blocking him out, you know.

___

The victim testified that Polanski began having sex with her, but sodomized her when he learned she wasn’t using birth control.

A: He asked, he goes, ‘Are you on the pill?’ And I went, ‘No.’ And he goes, ‘When did you last have your period?’ And I said, I don’t know. A week or two. I’m not sure.’

Q: And what did he say?

A: He goes, ‘Come on. You have to remember.’ And I told him I didn’t.

Q: Did he say anything after that?

A: Yes. He goes, ‘Would you want me to go through your back? And I went, ‘No.’

Effects:

Usual effects include relaxation, euphoria, and drowsiness, also reducing heart rate, respiration, increased sexual arousal (aphrodisia) ...

Additionally, Quaaludes are known to be "synergistic" with alcohol, meaning the two drugs enhance each others effects.

In the 70's mixing quaaludes and alcohol was known as a sure way to get into a girl's pants.

This was common knowledge in America.

Maybe it skipped Germany.

Pasto, sorry, you must be either out of your mind or you haven't read my blog entry to ask this question.

Oh I forgot: I am not discussing this here. If somebody wants to discuss it with me, there is a link. I responded to your comment only out of respect for the host.
