Do the words "schlock" and "Miles" even belong in the same sentence?
I saw Miles play in 1988 at the Hollywood Bowl. He was among the most charismatic men I have ever seen in my life. Right up there with Ronald Reagan, Jaco Pastorius, and Mick Jagger.
Charisma has nothing to do with what is right. It is only about personality. (Barack Obama is also a very charismatic person).
The stunning thing about Miles is, like Reagan, Pastorius, and Jagger, he was a true combination of Charisma and Genius.
Watch (though, strangely, I do not think Miles' charisma translates on video as well as it does through photography.)
The man has the intensity of a panther in a cage, pacing back and forth, with a vengeance to get out.
By the way, not that it has anything to do with anything, but I drove to the Miles concert with my best friend, his girlfriend, and my girlfriend.
My girlfriend was a "hot chick", with huge knockers, dressed in a "little black dress". My best friends girlfriend was a frumpy arty feminist.
Do yourself a favor and learn from a bit of wisdom I have learned in my 46 years. NEVER DRIVE IN A TRAFFIC JAM WITH AN ACTRESS AND AN ARTY CHICK IN THE SAME CAR WITH YOU.
The bitches couldn't stop arguing with each other.
I ended up driving the last three blocks of Highland Ave. on the sidewalk to get around the traffic jam. They were fucking driving me insane.
My driving maneuver had the unexpected effect of shutting them the fuck up (because they were scared shitless, basically), and convincing my best friend (to this day) that I am out of my fucking mind.
But, at least it gave me some peace, and I got to the Miles Concert on time.

Who knew how right your friend was?

That's a funny story. I bet the "arty feminist" dressed like a hippie or as a friend of mine would say "she always looks like a train wreck."
