From Babba:
An article in today’s Haaretz reports that the Netanyahu government is now struggling to deal with the possibility that the Palestinians may unilaterally declare statehood. In and of itself, this is not necessarily shocking. Yasser Arafat used much the same threat to pressure Netanyahu during his previous term as prime minister in the late 1990s. A new twist has been added, however, by the apparently very real possibility of US recognition of a unilaterally declared Palestinian state. In fact, Haaretz claims that such recognition is already a done deal.
The reports indicated that Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has reached a secret understanding with the Obama administration over U.S. recognition of an independent Palestinian state. Such recognition would likely transform any Israeli presence across the Green Line, even in Jerusalem, into an illegal incursion to which the Palestinians would be entitled to engage in measures of self-defense.

hopefully the israelis will finnally see what they have to do to survive.
Rumcrook™,
And what do you think that will be?
all of my Jewish friends - I live in a very liberal area-voted for bho...sad...

Christian Soldier,
If it makes you feel any better many of them might not vote for him the next time around.
Sadly, it seems to me, Jews have only gotten more Liberal in the past couple of years, Damien.
That's why J-Street is such a dangerous phenomenon.
Or, am I wrong?
Pastorius,
I don't know, Jewish Americans are getting more or less liberal. We would need some good statistics on the political stances of Jewish people in America over the past decade or two, from multiple reliable sources, to determine what the trend is among Jewish Americans. But even so, there's bound to be at least a few exceptions to whatever the trend is.
As for J-Street, I'm not sure how many of its members are actually Jewish, or exactly how much support it actually has in the American Jewish community. But just the fact that it is able to pass itself off to some people as a pro peace, pro Israel organization when it really is not, makes it dangerous.
Don't want to get too ethereal here, but what the Israelis want will not matter. It is what the God of Israel wants. And He wants His name glorified in His salvation of Israel.
It does really suck to be anyone who violently tries to take the land God gave to Israel - twice!
Anonymous,
That's why I wrote "Over God's Dead Body."
It ain't gonna happen. They can try and try, and they will be broken by a stone too heavy to lift.
It says so in Zechariah. Those who don't heed the warning will perish.
