Virginia Tech Report New Details

Some years ago we had a gunman loose in one of our local big grocery stores.

In the store at the time was a local detective who was off duty but armed.

He chose to get his wife and himself outside immediately and waited there for the cops.

Fortunately, in this case, no one was hurt. Except maybe his pride and reputation.

Your safety is YOUR responsibility. No one else's. Yours. You cannot count on others who you believe have your best interest in mind because, as this story below shows, they don't.

Whether it's a jihadi or a crazed, lone gunman, you may be the one who has to stop them if possible.

Thanks to ridiculous anti-gun laws Virginia Tech was a Victim Disarmament Zone. The students and teachers in Cho's path didn't have a chance.

And to find out now that certain administrators warned their families first BEFORE the student body or faculty, to find out now that trash collectors were warned before the student body or faculty, is an ultimate betrayal or trust.

Va. Tech Report: Staff Warned Families First
Saturday, December 5, 2009 10:51 AM

BLACKSBURG, Va. – New details on the response to the first shootings of what would become the Virginia Tech massacre show that at least two administrators alerted their family members well before the rest of the campus was notified that a gunman was on the loose.

The revised state report released Friday also revealed that garbage collection on campus was canceled before students and staff were notified of the danger, and the family of an injured victim wasn't notified until she died hours later.

The new details about the university's response from the time the first victims were found to when they alerted the campus brought angry reactions and questions from some victims' families about leadership during the 2007 massacre that ended with 33 people dead.

Dennis Bluhm, whose son was killed in the rampage, laid the blame on President Charles Steger, who has faced calls to resign from Bluhm and other families.

"He's got to live with himself," Bluhm said. "If he's got any heart at all, and I'm not sure he does, he's got a long life to live with this on his brain."

The report adds to the long list of apparent missteps by university officials before, during and after the rampage by Seung-Hui Cho. The mentally ill student shot two students to death in the dorm, then three hours later chained the doors of a classroom building and killed 30 more people before committing suicide.

The two administrators notified their families about the dorm shootings around 8:05 a.m. — an hour and 20 minutes before a campus-wide e-mail warning was sent to staff members, faculty and students. The massacre in the classroom building began at 9:40 a.m.

One of the administrators who notified a family member was Steger's chief of staff, Kim O'Rourke, said Phil Schaenman, the president of TriData, the outside firm that put together the report. She often called her son, a Tech student, to make sure he went to class. She said she told him about the dorm shootings but still told him to go to class, which he did.

"I did tell him what had been happening, and I told him to go to class," O'Rourke told The Washington Post. "He was in class at the time of the shooting in Norris Hall."

"It's been taken that their families were given advance warning," Schaenman said. "But in her case, she said it was safe to come to school."

The other administrator, then-assistant vice president of administration Lisa Wilkes, was dropping off her children at her mother's house when she got a phone call about the dorm shootings and telling her to come into work. She then told her mother about the shootings.

The two administrators' actions clearly "do not comprise a concerted effort by University staff to notify their own families of danger in advance of notifying the campus community," school spokesman Mark Owczarski said in a statement.

Gov. Tim Kaine said if there was an effort by the school's administration to notify family members before anyone else, it would be "inexcusable."

"There is almost never a reason not to provide immediate notification," Kaine told The Associated Press. "If university officials thought it was important enough to notify their own families, they should have let everyone know."

Later, Kaine spokeswoman Lynda Tran said his office had spoken with Tech and TriData officials about the report's findings and it "does not sound like there was wrongdoing" by the two administrators.

Steger's office said Friday he was unavailable for comment and referred questions to the university spokesman, Owczarski. Calls by the AP to multiple phone listings for O'Rourke and Wilkes rang unanswered Friday.

On campus Friday, Student Government Association president Brandon Carroll said he does not think the revised report damages the administration.

"Hindsight is 20/20," he said. "It really upsets me that they're trying to bring back something bad that really hurt our community."

The updated report includes additions and corrections requested by family members along with new information, including details from Cho's mental health records. Those records had been missing from the school counseling center even before the massacre, but the center's former director found them in his home in July.

In other new findings in the report:

It took 17 minutes for the chief of the Virginia Tech Police Department to get through to the executive vice president's office after he learned of the dorm shooting.

Campus trash collection was canceled 21 minutes before students and teachers were warned.

Virginia Tech's government affairs director ordered Steger's office locked around 8:52 a.m. Two classroom buildings were also locked down well before the notification went out. But Owczarski said the office was never locked.

One student killed in the dorm, Emily Hilscher, survived several hours after being shot, but no one bothered to notify her family until she had died. A call to her parents Friday wasn't immediately returned.

An administrator who was a member of a policy group dealing with the shooting mailed a colleague in Richmond around 8:45 a.m. that a gunman was on the loose, but warned the colleague to make sure that information didn't get out because it was not yet "releasable."

Virginia Tech had two different emergency-alert policies in effect at the time, and that led to the delay in issuing the university-wide alert.

The original report criticized the university's failure to act on warning signs from Cho that included violent, twisted writings and sullen, hostile behavior. It also criticized the communications failures and other problems that allowed nearly two hours to elapse between the first gunshots and the campus-wide notification.

The updated report did not revise the original report's conclusions and recommendations.

Courts have ruled that police have no legal obligation to place themselves in harm's way when dealing with a threat (though most, of course, do). There "job" is to clean up and investigate afterwards.

From Reliapundit the Astute Blogger:

The data from the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University — headquarters for Climategate — is now discredited.

This discredits any findings by other research bodies that relied
on the Climategate data.

How much falls from Climategate, whose participants read like a Who’s Who at the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change?

Not much, says CRU’s disgraced director, Phil Jones, pointing out that CRU’s data for global temperatures is but one of several datasets, all in general agreement. Besides, many argue, CRU was no linchpin to the science. The IPCC relied on numerous other sources. Throw CRU out, they say, and the IPCC’s conclusions remain unshakable.

In truth, if you throw CRU out, you’ve eviscerated the findings of the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report, the most recent and most definite opus from the UN.

There is no unimpeachable raw data in which we can have confidence. There is a large cast of impeachable characters in the Climategate drama with an evident appetite for cooking the books.

And there are but two honest options for our governments to now employ. They can choose to redo the studies, with data, scientists, and a peer-review process that can be trusted. Or they can recognize that the IPCC process has been politicized from the start, and that the prima facie evidence for dangerous global warming does not meet the threshold required to prolong the scientific sham of the generation.

  • Dr. Edward Wegman—former chairman of the Committee on Applied and Theoretical Statistics of the National Academy of Sciences—demolishes the famous “hockey stick” graph that launched the global warming panic.
  • Dr. David Bromwich—president of the International Commission on Polar Meteorology—says “it’s hard to see a global warming signal from the mainland of Antarctica right now.”
  • Prof. Paul Reiter—Chief of Insects and Infectious Diseases at the famed Pasteur Institute—says “no major scientist with any long record in this field” accepts Al Gore’s claim that global warming spreads mosquito-borne diseases.
  • Prof. Hendrik Tennekes—former director of research, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute—states “there exists no sound theoretical framework for climate predictability studies” used for global warming forecasts.
  • Dr. Christopher Landsea—past chairman of the American Meteorological Society’s Committee on Tropical Meteorology and Tropical Cyclones—says “there are no known scientific studies that show a conclusive physical link between global warming and observed hurricane frequency and intensity.”
  • Dr. Antonino Zichichi—one of the world’s foremost physicists, former president of the European Physical Society, who discovered nuclear antimatter—calls global warming models “incoherent and invalid.”
  • Dr. Zbigniew Jaworowski—world-renowned expert on the ancient ice cores used in climate research—says the U.N. “based its global-warming hypothesis on arbitrary assumptions and these assumptions, it is now clear, are false.”
  • Prof. Tom V. Segalstad—head of the Geological Museum, University of Oslo—says “most leading geologists” know the U.N.’s views “of Earth processes are implausible.”
  • Dr. Syun-Ichi Akasofu-founding director of the International Arctic Research Center, twice named one of the “1,000 Most Cited Scientists,” says much “Arctic warming during the last half of the last century is due to natural change.”
  • Dr. Claude Allegre—member, U.S. National Academy of Sciences and French Academy of Science, he was among the first to sound the alarm on the dangers of global warming. His view now: “The cause of this climate change is unknown.”
  • Dr. Richard Lindzen--Professor of Meteorology at M.I.T., member, the National Research Council Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, says global warming alarmists “are trumpeting catastrophes that couldn't happen even if the models were right.”
  • Dr. Habibullo Abdussamatov--head of the space research laboratory of the Russian Academy of Science’s Pulkovo Observatory and of the International Space Station's Astrometria project says “the common view that man's industrial activity is a deciding factor in global warming has emerged from a misinterpretation of cause and effect relations."
  • Dr. Richard Tol--Principal researcher at the Institute for Environmental Studies at Vrije Universiteit, and Adjunct Professor at the Center for Integrated Study of the Human Dimensions of Global Change, at Carnegie Mellon University, calls the most influential global warming report of all time “preposterous . . . alarmist and incompetent."
  • Dr. Sami Solanki--director and scientific member at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Germany, who argues that changes in the Sun’s state, not human activity, may be the principal cause of global warming: "The sun has been at its strongest over the past 60 years and may now be affecting global temperatures."
  • Prof. Freeman Dyson—one of the world’s most eminent physicists says the models used to justify global warming alarmism are “full of fudge factors” and “do not begin to describe the real world.”
  • Dr. Eigils Friis-Christensen--director of the Danish National Space Centre, vice-president of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, who argues that changes in the Sun’s behavior could account for most of the warming attributed by the UN to man-made CO2.

From Reliapundit the Astute Blogger:

The Met Office plans to re-examine 160 years of temperature data after admitting that public confidence in the science on man-made global warming has been shattered by leaked e-mails.

The new analysis of the data will take three years, meaning that the Met Office will not be able to state with absolute confidence the extent of the warming trend until the end of 2012.

The Met Office database is one of three main sources of temperature data analysis on which the UN’s main climate change science body relies for its assessment that global warming is a serious danger to the world. This assessment is the basis for next week’s climate change talks in Copenhagen aimed at cutting CO2 emissions.

AirTran Says Petruna Was Not On The Flight

This is probably not a surprise to many of us. Petruna's story sounded overly heroic and quasi-macho from the beginning, didn't it?

AirTran now says Petruna could not have been on flight 297. Was Robinson lying too? Why did several passengers and an entire flight crew refuse to fly then? Someone is not telling the whole story.

According to all available records, Mr. Petruna's trip originated from Akron-Caton, Ohio (CAK) on AirTran flight 205. This flight arrived at the gate in Atlanta at 5:06 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

From the Airline Zone:

After conducting additional research into this situation, we have verified, according to flight manifests (legally binding documents) that the individual that allegedly created a first-hand account of events on-board AirTran Airways flight 297, a Theodore Petruna, was never actually on-board the flight.

According to all available records, Mr. Petruna's trip originated from Akron-Ca[n]ton, Ohio (CAK) on AirTran flight 205. This flight arrived at the gate in Atlanta at 5:06 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Flight 297, the flight which Mr. Patruna [sic] allegedly wrote a first-hand account of, originally pushed back from its gate in Atlanta at 4:40 p.m. EST, a full 26 minutes before flight 205 arrived at the gate in Atlanta making this flight connection impossible.

While Mr. Patruna was originally scheduled to begin his journey on AirTran flight 202 from CAK and connect to flight 297 in Atlanta he did not make that original flight.

All this being said, there's a lot of smoke here. So, is there a fire? It would seem there is at least a little fire.

Russia gears up for major marketing launch of its Su-35 fighter jets

MOSCOW -- Russia has launched its Su-35 fighter-jet program.

Russia's Sukhoi Co. has begun implementing a contract to deliver the Su-35 to the Russian Air Force. Under the contract signed in August 2009, the Russian Air Force, in the largest purchase in 20 years, would acquire 48 Su-35 fighters.

Su-35 Flanker
"Long-term contracts for the fighter aircraft delivery to the Russian Air Force and foreign customers allow Sukhoi Co. to provide for a steady work load of its serial plants by combat aircraft production and shift from modernizing aircraft in the Russian Air Force inventory to manufacturing new products," Sukhoi said.

In a statement on Nov. 17, Sukhoi said its plant on Komsomolsk-on-Amur has begun production of component parts. The company said serial production of the aircraft would begin in 2010.

Executives said Sukhoi and Russia's arms export agency, Rosoboronexport, have been briefing potential clients of Su-35. They said Algeria and Libya have expressed interest in the aircraft.

The Su-35 included a new phased array radar system with long-range aerial target detection. The aircraft, with stealth qualities, has been equipped with new air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles.

"The Su-35 is a substantially modernized highly maneuverable multifunctional 4++ generation aircraft employing technologies of the fifth generation," Sukhoi said. "They make it superior to all other fourth generation fighter jets now under development worldwide."

ElBaredei's last word on Iran: 'We have . . . reached a dead end'

Outgoing IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei last week confirmed that Iran had violated its obligation to the U.N. nuclear watchdog by failing to notify the agency of its secret nuclear facility at Qom.

ElBaradei said told the board of governors that there was "no movement" on resolving the issue of Iran's nuclear program and thus we unable to conclude that the program is not for producing nuclear arms.

"We have effectively reached a dead end, unless Iran engages fully with us," he said.

Iran notified the agency in September that it was constructing a uranium enrichment facility in Qom that will contain 16 cascades of about 3,000 centrifuges. "The facility is at an advanced stage of construction and Iran plans to make it operational in 2011. Iran stated that construction of the plant was part of its efforts to protect sensitive nuclear activities against attack by using 'passive defense systems.'"

Iran failed to notify the agency of the existence of the facility until September 2009 instead of as soon as the decision was made to build it and the action is "inconsistent" with Tehran's safeguards agreement.

"Iran´s late declaration of the new facility reduces confidence in the absence of other nuclear facilities under construction in Iran which have not been declared to the Agency.

The declaration by ElBaradei will likely signal the end of the Obama administration's diplomatic initiative to engage Iran on its nuclear program. The next step is likely to be the imposition of economic sanctions against Iran.

Sanctions? You mean like the ones that really did the trick in Iraq? UGH!
And this was written before their statement they were 'building' another dozem facilities.
And we have gained ??? from this process?

Gertz:Administration sought Taliban deal in back channel talks

I believe it.

The Obama administration held indirect talks with the Taliban insurgent movement in a bid to reach a settlement of the eight-year war in Afghanistan but the talks failed due to the terrorist group's intransigence.
DUH! And the lesson learned was ???

According to news reports from Pakistan, the talks were held with Taliban representatives and representatives of the Saudi and Pakistani intelligence services.

"Saudi and Pakistani intelligence services" -and what DOES THAT TELL US people?

Pakistan's The News, quoting Pakistani Foreign Office sources in Islamabad, reported Nov. 26 that the back channel talks were prompted by U.S. worries over losing ground to the insurgents.

So why would they be productive?

U.S. Commander General David Petraeus, left, talks with U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates (2nd right) U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other military leaders before U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, on Dec. 1. Reuters/Jim Young
The report said negotiations with the Taliban included offering the militia a portion of Afghan administration as part of a political settlement.

The goal of the talks was to try and convince the Taliban to separate from their Al Qaida collaborators.

The talks included officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Britain, some key leaders of the Afghan Taliban, and the chief of the Islamabad-based Jamiatul Ansar Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil.

Do our people UNDERSTAND ANYTHING? If such a thing were possible, Bin Laden and Zawalhiri would already be in our hands AS THE OPENING MOVE FROM THE OTHER SIDE. UGH!

NYT: Decision makers in NATO-we are in the business of managing failure

From Max Hastings at the NYT:

IT is hard to be optimistic about the outcome of President Obama's troop "surge" in Afghanistan. The additional forces sound large in headlines, but shrink small in the mountains. The commitment is intended as an earnest indication of America's will. But neither the number of troops nor the timeline that mandates a drawdown in less than two years is likely to impress the Taliban, who think in decades, or for that matter the Afghan people.

Most decision-makers on both sides of the Atlantic now privately believe we are in the business of managing failure, and that is how the surge looks. The president allowed himself to be convinced that a refusal to reinforce NATO's mission in Afghanistan would fatally weaken the resolve of Pakistan in resisting Islamic militancy. Meanwhile at home, refusal to meet the American generals' demands threatened to brand him as the man who lost the Afghan war. Thus the surge lies in the realm of politics, not warfare.

As the president said, the usual comparisons with Vietnam are mistaken. Today's United States Army and Marine Corps are skilled counterinsurgency fighters. Their commanders, especially Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top commander in Afghanistan, are officers of the highest gifts. Combat and casualties are on a much smaller scale than in Southeast Asia four decades ago.

The critical fact, however, is that military operations are meaningless unless in support of a sustainable political system. One Indochina parallel seems valid: that war was lost chiefly because America's Vietnamese allies were unviable.

If we lose in Afghanistan, it will not be because American soldiers are defeated, but because "our" Afghans -- the regime of Hamid Karzai -- cannot deliver to the people honest policing, acceptable administration and visible quality of life improvements.
Can anyone deliver this? Why not? Could the Taliban who crushed all opposition, including Massoud and the Northern Alliance in the 90's deliver this? They didn't try and they maintained control.

Big Government continued its investigation on the St. Louis Gladney-SEIU Beatdown today:

On July 31, 2009, the Democratic House Leadership communicated to their members that they were working in close coordination with the White House and Health Care for America Now (HCAN) to get “grass roots” activities at town hall meetings through the month of August. Five days later HCAN released a detailed instruction sheet for the union members of SEIU on how to control admission, speech, behavior and security at town hall meetings. Two days after that staff members of the St. Louis SEIU implemented these strategies at Rep. Russ Carnahan’s town hall event which resulted in Kenneth Gladney being beaten by an SEIU Business Agent and an SEIU Public Service Director.

Big Government has much more on this scandal.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk with Kenneth Gladney about the August beatdown.
Kenneth says that local officials have refused to return his calls or contact him since the assault.

St. Louis County Officials have not returned any of his calls since the brutal beatdown in August.

Kenneth Gladney was beaten and stomped on by SEIU thugs outside of the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in August. Kenneth Gladney’s brother Keith told reporters last week, “The charges should have been more serious.”

Mother Russia Hit By the Jihad Again?

Breaking News

It is being reported on the news channels that more than 100 people have been killed by a massive explosion in a Russian nightclub. The club is in the city of Perm, about 700 miles east of Moscow. There are "no immediate reports on the possible cause of the explosion".

Update: Apparently the Russian media is blaming the explosion on "fireworks". (Possibly pyrotechnics such as killed 100 people at the Station nightclub in Rhode Island some years back?)

Strange Bedfellows

No no, this isn't another post about Kevin Jennings (one is sickening enough).

This is about Ahmed Chalabi.

Remember him?

Apparently, Uncle Barry has forgotten the late unpleasantness.

Chalabi Now Cozying Up to Obama
Friday, December 4, 2009 8:14 AM

By: Eli Lake, The Washington Times

Ahmad Chalabi, the Iraqi politician who successfully promoted the war that Barack Obama opposed as a presidential candidate, has sent the U.S. leader "sincere congratulations" for winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

Mr. Chalabi, who cultivated neoconservatives and the George W. Bush administration when he was an exile drumming up support against Saddam Hussein, told The Washington Times that he is a big fan of Mr. Obama.

"The few months of your administration have produced a sea-change in the perception of the United States of America in the world and specifically among Muslims," he wrote to Mr. Obama in a recent letter that he shared with The Times. "Your historic speech in Cairo has become a beacon of hope for the coming era."

Mr. Obama is scheduled to pick up his prize in Oslo next week.

Mr. Chalabi said he would have voted for Mr. Obama in the 2008 presidential election and that his longtime aide, Francis Brooke, who lives in Washington, did.

"Obama has the right attitude in Iraq," Mr. Chalabi said in an interview at one of his family's gated estates in northern Baghdad. "He wants to transform Iraq's relationship in the United States beyond security and intelligence to a meaningful alliance between two countries which see great mutual benefit in cooperation in terms of oil, the economy, development, culture, education and democracy."

An early and ardent supporter of regime change in Iraq, Mr. Chalabi left the country at age 13 and spent much of his life in London. Educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago, he cultivated anyone who could help his cause, from American Democrats to the Iranian government.

He told The Times that he began pressing Congress for support for an Iraqi opposition as early as 1991 and said Rep. John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania and former Vice President Al Gore are among many Democrats who had expressed support for his cause in the 1990s but turned against the 2003 invasion.

During the administration of George W. Bush, Mr. Chalabi became close to neoconservative Republicans, among them Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, Pentagon policy adviser Richard Perle and Vice President Dick Cheney.

Relations frayed after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, when Mr. Chalabi began wooing Iran-backed Iraqi leaders such as Sheik Muqtada al-Sadr.

Security contractors, in coordination with the U.S. military, arrested a close aide to Mr. Chalabi in August 2008. At the time, Mr. Chalabi was suspected of aiding Iranian-backed militias known as "special groups." Mr. Chalabi denies the charge but makes no secret of his political group's ties to Iran and that country's influential Revolutionary Guards.

"We never hid our relationship with the Iranians," he said. He added that Secretary of State Colin L. Powell was "very [angry] about us having this office in Tehran" before the war. But he said the State Department was paying for the office. "They knew they were funding it. We got an [Office of Foreign Assets Control] exemption; it was not a secret."

The State Department stopped funding Mr. Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress in 2002, claiming he failed to account for millions of dollars for intelligence collection. The Pentagon took over the project. Mr. Chalabi had alienated the CIA during a 1995 debacle in which Saddam sent troops to northern Iraq and put down an abortive uprising.

"I am close to Iran, but there are a lot of people in Iraq more close than me," Mr. Chalabi said. "What does too close mean? I dispute it. They are a very important neighbor and they do not control the Shi'ite parties."

Mr. Chalabi ran for parliament in 2005, but his independent list did not win a single seat. He is running again in next year's elections, this time in a coalition of Shi'ite parties that include followers of Sheik al-Sadr and the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, a party founded in Iran in the 1980s.

The elections are supposed to be held by the end of January but are expected to be delayed until February or March because of parliamentary disputes over representation for different regions and ethnic communities.

Mr. Chalabi also has his eyes on the wider region. In his letter to Mr. Obama, he asked for support "to develop a concordat among the modern states of Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran" - a region known in Islamic geography as "al Iqleem al Rabi'i" or "the fourth territory." Mr. Chalabi's letter to Mr. Obama said such an alliance "will be the rock on which extremism in the Muslim world will shatter."

From Vlad Tepes Blog:

Canada Free Press…By Doug Hagmann T

On November 17, an incident took place aboard AirTran Flight 297 scheduled to fly from Atlanta Hartsfield Airport to Houston that the media does not want to cover and everyone from the airline to the TSA and other government agencies want to keep very quiet. The reasons, I have been told, is fear of predatory lawsuits, negative publicity from accusations of religious profiling, and the obligatory subjugation to mindless mandatory Muslim sensitivity training that make a mockery of our American system of values. Interestingly, one airline official told me “we don’t want to become another flight 300,” which is a reference to a very similar scenario that took place aboard US Airways Flight 300 exactly three years ago.

I was first contacted about this incident two days after it happened by a passenger who was aboard AirTran Flight 297. Based on the allegations made by this passenger, we conducted additional research, interviews and investigation, all of which takes time to insure accuracy, and are now able to release our report of the incident that took place aboard that aircraft. Be prepared to be shocked, angered, and perhaps saddened by our national and corporate acquiescence to mafia-type tactics by Islamists who are engaged in a full frontal assault, and laughing about it.

Unsurprisingly, the facts we developed during the course of our investigation are inconsistent with those being reported in the media, despite the media having the responsibility to report the truth.

The incident

A group of thirteen men dressed in traditional Muslim attire were among 73 passengers who boarded AirTran Flight 297 on Tuesday, 17 November 2009, a routine flight scheduled to depart Atlanta Hartsfield Airport, gate C-16 at 4:43 PM ET to Houston Hobby Airport. Reports developed by this investigator found two witnesses who observed direct interaction among all of these Muslim men at the terminal.

As the passengers boarded the aircraft, two of the Muslim men took seats in first class, while the remaining eleven were seated throughout the remaining rows of the aircraft. Most had carrying-on bags that they stowed in the overhead compartments above their seats.

As the aircraft began to taxi to the runway, a female flight attendant was beginning to issue the normal passenger advisories over the PA system. Almost on cue at the time passengers were told to turn off all electronic devices, one of the Muslim men seated in the front of the plane began to use his cell phone in a manner that was described by a flight attendant and passenger “as deliberate and obvious.” He was talking loudly in Arabic, nearly at the level of the flight attendant. Some reports suggest that this man actually called another Muslim passenger, although this has not been immediately confirmed. It is possible, however, as another passenger reported that a Muslim man seated toward the rear of the plane answered his cellular phone at the same time the man in the front began using his.

At this point, the flight attendant in the front of the plane approached the Muslim man using his telephone and instructed him to immediately turn it off. A second female flight attendant did the same at the rear of the aircraft. Concurrent with this cellular activity, two other Muslim men seated adjacent near the middle of the aircraft began operating what one passenger described as a palm type camcorder, ostensibly to view previously taken footage. It is possible, according to one flight attendant interviewed by this investigator, however, that the camcorder was being used for recording purposes. Whatever its use, a third flight attendant, aware of the incidents taking place in the front and rear of the aircraft, approached the two men for the purpose of securing the camcorder. At least two passengers reported that the men became abusive to the flight attendant and initially refused to comply with her request.

It was at this time that most of the passengers began to notice the multiple incidents involving over a dozen men dressed in Islamic attire. Next, as if previously rehearsed, at least ten of the 13 Muslim men aboard the aircraft began to leave their seats at the same time. At least one passenger stated she observed one of the Muslim passengers using his cell phone to take photos of other passengers on the aircraft, while one other Muslim passenger sang loudly in Arabic. According to information provided to this investigator from one of the flight crew who was alerted to an onboard emergency, the aircraft was now being taxied back to the terminal. The TSA, FAA and FBI were notified.

At the terminal

Once back at the terminal, the thirteen men were escorted from the aircraft by TSA and security officials. According to a report from an airline security official, their baggage was also removed and searched, the search finding nothing of apparent danger. According to a law enforcement official interviewed by telephone by this investigator on Monday, investigation revealed that all of the Muslim passengers are acquainted with each other and are associated with (or have ties to) a large Islamic center that has been the subject of investigative interest.

According to one aircraft passenger I interviewed, what happened next was “unbelievable” and caused a great deal of upset among the aircraft passengers and flight crew (some who opted off the flight in anger, fear, or admittedly, a mixture of both emotions).

After a lengthy delay while officials dealt with these Muslim passengers, ten (one uncorroborated report suggests 11) of the Muslim passengers were permitted to re-board the same aircraft to complete their flight. Some passengers and flight crew, traumatized by the blatant actions of the Muslim passengers, refused to travel with the Muslims who caused this orchestrated disturbance.

The flight continues

According to flight logs and information from one of the flight crew who continued with the flight, AirTran 297 ultimately departed Atlanta and arrived in Houston later that evening. The flight, however, was not without its curious incidents by the very same Muslim men who caused the initial delay and disturbance.

During the flight, one passenger interviewed by this investigator described the behavior of two of the Muslim passengers as less overt but still suspicious in nature. Without apparent legitimate purpose, one Muslim passenger moved a stowed bag from one part of the aircraft to another, well away from his seated position. Another spoke loudly in Arabic, with all appearing to interact in one form or another.

Ultimately, the flight landed safely and despite the early incidents in Atlanta, the Muslim passengers appeared able to leave freely from the terminal.

Comments from flight crew and airline personnel

As initially stated, proper and accurate investigation takes time to corroborate eyewitness accounts, which are often unreliable, contradictive and in cases like this, colored by emotion. Having interviewed a total of seven-(7) individuals directly involved in this incident over the last several days, including two law enforcement officers who handled the after action reports, the situation pertaining to the initial 13 and remaining 10 or 11 Muslim men allowed to continue their travels was far greater than an incident involving the unauthorized use of a cell phone that resulted in a minor flight delay, as reported by the mainstream media.

According to one airline security official, “This was a deliberate, well planned attempt to disrupt a domestic flight that was organized in advance of the boarding of these [Muslim] passengers. The purpose of their actions appeared to be multi-faceted, not the least of which was an attempt to change their status from passengers to victims of religious profiling. The situation was handled in a manner that we believe might have avoided an incident like USAir had in 2006, where everyone from the passengers who reported suspicious behavior to the airline was subjected to legal action by the Muslim passengers.”

While litigation might have been avoided, passengers and flight crew remain traumatized, and our air travel system was unnecessarily disrupted during one of the busiest air travel weeks in the U.S. The agenda of the Islamists behind this incident is clear, yet no one in the media seems to have the desire to expose these ideological cretins for what they are.

Additional information about this incident is forthcoming.

"The Key to Freedom is the Ablility to be Able to Defend Yourself"

Our Founding Fathers knew this and gave us the Second Amendment, which politicians and pussies (but I repeat myself) have been trying to rid us of ever since.

The Nazis knew this and first disarmed the Jews, then the rest of the population.

In Switzerkand, as many know, military service is compulsory and, when your service is finished, you are required to take your government provided rifle home and maintain it and practice with it for the rest of your life.

What are the chances we can get Uncle Barry to provide rifles to the population?

Stephen Colbert reenacts nuclear holocaust for Georgetown professor

Stephen Colbert is a genius.

Better Know a Lobby - Ploughshares Fund
Colbert Report Full EpisodesPolitical HumorU.S. Speedskating

Master of Science in Foreign Service Professor Joseph Cirincione went on the Colbert Report this past Monday to discuss the Ploughshares Fund, a group which advocates against nuclear proliferation.

Cirincione, who is president of the Fund, was probably prepared for Colbert-level provocation, but not for anything on the order of Colbert’s epic, 51-second impression of total nuclear annihilation. (It begins at the 3:30 mark).

On the program, Cirincione seemed less than amused. He came around the next day on Twitter: “Stephen Colbert does the best imitation of a nuclear explosion I have ever seen.”

Next, he and Colbert played “sanction, bomb, or marry.” And the real fun began.

Breaking: Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Is Promoting Porn in the Classroom

If it wasn't bad enough that Obama's Safe School Czar is a NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) supporter, now we find he actually promotes the reading of gay porn by students.

From Gateway:

Scott Baker from Breitbart-TV.com and Co-Host of ‘The B-Cast‘ submitted this shocking report today on Obama’s deviant Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings.

Warning: The following material is very explicit.

Reflections of a Rock Lobster – Page 13

(At the age of six, the author frequently performed fellatio on his fellow first-graders in the school restroom, part of a “busy homosexual childhood.”)

My sexual exploits with my neighborhood playmates continued. I lived a busy homosexual childhood, somehow managing to avoid venereal disease through all my toddler years. By first grade I was sexually active with many friends. In fact, a small group of us regularly met in the grammar school lavatory to perform fellatio on one another. A typical week’s schedule would be Aaron and Michael on Monday during lunch; Michael and Johnny on Tuesday after school; Fred and Timmy at noon Wednesday; Aaron and Timmy after school on Thursday. None of us ever got caught, but we never worried about it anyway. We all understood that what we were doing was not to be discussed freely with adults but we viewed it as a fun sort of confidential activity. None of us had any guilty feelings about it; we figured everyone did it. Why shouldn’t they?

(A man masturbates and explicitly ejaculates as he sits on a hill overlooking his hometown.)

I sit down on the hard ground and cry a little. I fish my aged cock out of my jeans as though I can mark the scene with pleasure so later I can find it and reread it for understanding. Once imagined, it is my responsibility to jack off in front of it all. The air feels funny on my cock, which usually squirms like a larva in the darkness; it’s more sensitive than I am to the prickle of a slight breeze. There is nothing to arouse me except myself. My tract looks so boring, its emptiness so lacks potential, that I can almost believe in reality, since here is appearance spreading out at my feet. It only takes a minute. My crotch rings like an alarm clock, some pump mechanism kicks in, and after short flights my sperm falls on the gray dirt. I feet edgy and shallow, emptied out by the day ahead, and twinges of residual pleasure make me twitch.

Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings was the founder, and for many years, Executive Director of an organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). GLSEN started essentially as Jennings’ personal project and grew to become the culmination of his life’s work. And he was chosen by President Obama to be the nation’s Safe Schools Czar primarily because he had founded and led GLSEN (scroll for bio).

GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids.

Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own.

According to GLSEN’s own press releases from the period during which its recommended reading list was developed, the organization’s three areas of focus were creating “educational resources, public policy agenda, [and] student organizing programs”; in other words, the reading list (chief among its “educational resources”) was of prime importance in GLSEN’s efforts to influence the American educational system.

The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

We were unprepared for what we encountered.

... (these were books that) weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured

explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers;

stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships;

stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers,

five-year-olds playing sex games,

semen flying through the air.

One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem.

Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.

We knew that unless we carefully documented what we were reading, the public would have a hard time accepting it.

To be specific, the books we read were:

Queer 13

Being Different

The Full Spectrum

Revolutionary Voices

Reflections of a Rock Lobster

Passages of Pride

Growing Up Gay/Growing Up Lesbian

The Order of the Poison Oak

In Your Face

Mama’s Boy, Preacher’s Son

Love & Sex: Ten Stories of Truth

We can only vouch for what’s in these 11 books, since these are the only ones we’ve read through. Are there other books on the GLSEN reading list that are similarly outrageous? We can’t say for sure, but it seems very likely.

Let it be clear: This issue has nothing to do with gayness or straightness, which is irrelevant to this report. The point proven here is that the GLSEN reading list promotes the sexualization of children in general, regardless of the “orientation.”

And this is not about censorship: It’s about deciding what constitutes appropriate reading material for children.

Here are more excerpts:

(A 13-year-old boy has a violent sexual encounter with an older man, which causes the boy to become desperate for sex, and he ends up spending the rest of the year promiscuously getting “my cock sucked and my ass fucked” by “a seemingly endless supply of dicks” belonging to older men, concluding with “I really did enjoy those sexual encounters.”)

One day, on the bus to shop class, this ugly fuck of a man sat behind me and put his foot in the crack of my seat. He was skinny, with a patchy, pencil-thin mustache that besotted his oily face. I ignored him for most of the trip. I did notice that he changed buses when I did, but this time he sat beside me. He tried a little small talk, but then he suddenly and very nervously put his hand on my crotch. It never occurred to me to tell him not to. I’m not sure if I agreed to it or not, but he managed to get me to follow him to a nearby rest room at another secondary school “to play.” In the bathroom stall, lit by two scant rows of fluorescent lights, half of them burnt-out or flickering, he tried to kiss me, but I was too nauseated to do that. He sucked my nipples and played with my cock. I had no idea what to do. He then tried to get me to suck his. Somehow I knew this was expected of me, but I just could not put his ugly, foul-smelling penis into my mouth. When he forced it in I gagged so hard I started vomiting. Undaunted, he tried to put his cock in my ass. Thankfully, he came prematurely. He pulled up his trousers and left me in the toilet stall confused, frightened, crying, and praying to God for forgiveness of my horrible sin. I spent a good deal of time locked in the stall, trying to clean up, trying to wipe the smell of that act off with wet toilet paper, but I was doused in the stench of that man and what he had done.

This incident should have soured me on men, but it only made me more confused and needful. One day later, something accidental happened that would change my life. I discovered that at a urinal I could actually see someone else’s penis. I was ecstatic and fearful, but I wanted more. One day, at a local shopping mall, as I was trying to sneak a peek at penises in the rest rooms, a man at the urinal actually turned to me and started playing with himself. He flashed me a gold-toothed smirk and motioned for me to come over. Shocked, I zippered up and ran out, but the seeds had been laid. The whole world of rest-room sex had opened itself up to me.

Soon I was spending a great deal of time hanging out in shopping malls and cruising the rest rooms for sexual encounters. My rest-room exploits started to be a great burden on my mind. The better part of the year was spent making deals with God, asking for a sign, then ignoring and rationalizing everything I perceived to be a sign, praying for forgiveness, and being obsessed with raging hormones and a seemingly endless supply of dicks. I believed that it was all part of a test by God to see if I was a sinner. I was.

I had known before that something was up, and that I was attracted to men, but this toilet thing was a whole new realm of sin and Satan, a new level that I had never before imagined. The following years were spent praying for forgiveness and trying to purge my homosexuality through prayer and Bible study. While my classmates wondered what sex was like, content to masturbate over pinups, I was out there having my cock sucked and my ass fucked. These were grown men I was tricking with. Some were nice, grateful for a young boy to have their way with. Some were harsh and mean. There were a few nasty encounters, brutal and painful experiences, near-rapes, but through it all, I never thought that I had the ability to say no.

I was scared about what I was doing, scared of God’s judgment and of being caught in all those rest rooms and parks, but I really did enjoy those sexual encounters. That feeling of doing it to them and them doing the same for me was just too damn good.

JAMESTOWN - An al-Qaeda videotape showing the execution of a Yemeni military intelligence chief began circulating throughout Yemen by Bluetooth technology on November 26. The video was produced by al-Malahim Establishment for Media Production, the media wing of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). Entitled "The Demise of Traitors 1," the videotape addressed al-Qaeda's view of Muslims who "collaborate" with the West before proceeding to give a practical lesson in the fate of such "collaborators" in the form of Lieutenant Colonel Bassam Sulayman Tarbush al-Sharqabi, the intelligence chief for Marib Province, who was captured by al-Qaeda last June.

Though not mentioned explicitly, a large part of the tape appears devoted to warning off Yemenis from providing intelligence to U.S. forces that would allow them to target al-Qaeda leaders in Yemen with missile strikes from Predator drones. Given the tactical success of drone strikes in northwest Pakistan, al-Qaeda leaders in Yemen and Saudi Arabia may naturally be concerned about being targeted in a similar manner. Colonel Tarbush was widely believed in Yemen to have provided the intelligence that allowed a U.S. Predator to kill local al-Qaeda leader Ali Qaed Sunian al-Harithi (a.k.a. Abu Ali) in 2002.

The videotape warns of "mercenaries" who collaborated with the Jews and Christians for money. "The lowest and vilest of these collaborators are the spies, who continue to help the enemies of the nation of Islam: the rulers, collaborators and allies of America." The tape then shows footage of an infrared strobe light of the type used to mark targets for night attacks. Viewers are warned of spies who plant such instruments on targets designated for air strikes.

Colonel Tarbush, who appears blindfolded at all times in the video, is described as an individual who spied on Muslims and the mujahideen. "He oversees a network of spies, and recruits clan members to spy on Muslims."

TAKFIR ! See you later you poor bastard.

Tarbush was an expert in the intricacies of clan politics in Marib region, where he spent the last ten of his 14 years in the security services. His experience also allowed him to build a local intelligence network, though he admits in the video that he has revealed the names of all his agents to al-Qaeda interrogators.

Clearly under pressure from his questioners, Colonel Tarbush agrees that the government of President Ali Abdullah Saleh is a collaborationist government that sets up "security forces with the authority and capabilities to suppress the mujahideen, according to American requests." He also acknowledges that Yemen's legal code "violates Shari'a." Asked if he has any advice for young Yemenis, Colonel Tarbush advises them to avoid being "pulled in by American intelligence and [Israel's] Mossad."

After being led before a firing squad of masked men, the image cuts out and only gunfire is heard, followed by footage of the apparently dead body of Colonel Tarbush. China's Xinhua news agency later said senior Yemeni security officials had confirmed the Colonel's death (Xinhua, November 26).

The apparent execution of Colonel Tarbush follows an earlier AQAP warning to the "infidel" rulers of Yemen, who "opened bureaus to spy on the mujahideen and even on the Muslims in general" (Audio statement of Shaykh Abu al-Zubayr Adil al-Abbab, Al-Malahim Establishment for Media Production, October 22). A posting on a jihadist website said the execution videotape gave "special solace to all those family members of those mujahideen who were tortured, handicapped and in many cases killed under the supervision of these [security] officials" (ansarnet.info, November 27).

Iran's new naval buildup could allow closure of Straits of Hormuz

GERTZ:The Office of Naval Intelligence is warning that Iran's naval forces could shut down the strategic Strait of Hormuz where some 30 percent of all the world's oil and natural gas passes and severely disrupt international commerce and energy supplies.

The ONI report, released last week, stated that Iran's naval modernization includes the purchase of Chinese and Russian advanced weapons systems, including Kilo submarines and C-801 cruise missiles, among other weapons.

"Naval modernization is one of Iran's highest military priorities and the country continues to focus on weapons acquisition and development programs," the report states. The Iranians are expanding existing arms inventories and adding "increasingly sophisticated systems," the report said.

This Strait of Hormuz. Xinhua/Reuters
"Weapons, such as the Hoot supercavitation high-speed missile torpedo, may be proliferated throughout the Iranian naval inventory as will longer range anti-ship missiles, such as the Ra'ad," the report said, noting that mining weapons also will be expanded.

The report states that Iran would lose money from shutting Hormuz, but that closure of the strait in a conflict could be carried out in extreme circumstances.

"Given the importance of the Strait, disrupting traffic flow or even threatening to do so may be an effective tool for Iran," the report said.

The world would face "serious economic impact from a sustained closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to greatly reduced supplies of crude oil, petroleum supplies and LNG," the report said.

Japan and China would be hit hard by such a closure along with the United States and Western Europe.

Iran's navy relies on both conventional and asymmetric warfare concepts and its weapons procurement has focused on purchasing large numbers of small and fast military boats, like its 10 Chinese-made Houdong fast attack craft, which are equipped with high-speed anti-ship missiles.

The Iranians also have purchased fast patrol boats from Italy's Fabio Buzzi Design, which are based on racing boat designs. Iran's navy has reversed engineered the boats and is now producing its own version.

China also sold Iran rocket-propelled and Russia sold three Kilo submarines in the 1990s.

"The primary missile in the Iranian mobile [coastal defense cruise missile] arsenal is the C801/802, first imported from China in 1995," the report said.

The C802s are Iran's most capable missiles and the report noted that with them "Iran can target any point within the Strait of Hormuz and much of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman."

Additionally, the Hizbullah terrorist group used a C802 to sink (WRONG- damage, article from 2006 no less) an Israeli naval vessel in 2006 and the ONI said "Iran could use the missile in the same way."

Iran also has "worked jointly with China to develop shorter-range missiles, including the C701, for deployment in narrow geographic environments," the report said.

Iran also has several midget submarines that can be used for covert operations.

Air defenses include Russians systems including the Tor-M1 and purchase of S-300s.
