Permissible And Impermissible

Two pictures say it all:

The first banner is fine and dandy with public-transportation officials, the second is not.

Don't suppose there's much chance of any mainstream religious group raising a stink about all those "Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad" claims being offensive to anyone with half a brain.

Wouldn't proof/truth in advertising run into a problem trying that with Abraham, Moses and Jesus being the message bearers of Islam?

Aren't those PUBLIC buses bearing a religious message?

Is this different from Christians meeting to pray in school?

How?

If 'under god' has no place in the public school pledge of allegiance, then what's that as saying?

Let them advertise on private radio, billboards and tv all they want.

Apparently, certain transit systems will sell space to the religion of pieces. Never mind how offended Jews and Christians are.

Frankly, I'm furious that Islam declares all prophets Islamic.

And, as a Christian, I'm HIGHLY offended that Jesus is referred to as a Moslem prophet.

But the only offenses that matter now, apparently, are those which offend Islam.

RRA,
Anyone besides Moslems raising a stink doesn't matter now.

AOW,
You said; as a Christian, I'm HIGHLY offended that Jesus is referred to as a Moslem prophet.

I say: I'm with you.

Imagine, though, how Jews feel about Christians having run off with their religion.

Always On Watch,

What I find most disturbing is the level of cowardice on behalf of the transportation authority. Also, if they are really doing this just because it is offensive to people of the Islamic faith, and they don't want to offend anyone, do they not realize how offensive it is to many non Muslims to see signs on their buses telling people to convert to Islam? Do they not realize how upsetting it might be to someone who has friends and family who were murdered by Jihadist? Or do they not care?

Revere Rides Again,

Many Islamic groups claim that Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were all really Muslims. They say that they preached Islam. That's absurd. They have no evidence that anyone preached Muhammad's faith before Muhammad. They have no evidence that the Christian or the Jews, or any other faith had Islamic teaching and than corrupted them. There was no Islam before Muhammad. It would be like you claiming that someone was an objectivists who not only had a philosophy radically different than Rand's, but died before Rand was even born. Than explaining that fact by saying that well his philosophy was corrupted and that's not really what he believed, and you expected me to believe that despite the fact that you had no evidence to back it up.

I remember hearing a news story about CAIR members caring a banner that said something along the lines of "Jesus didn't preach Christianity, he preached Islam." In a way it actually made me happy, because little do they know, that's something that might in the long run, lead people to realize that they are not the civil rights organization they claim to be. That's not something a secular civil rights organization that was dedicated to protecting the rights of Muslims would do.

Pastorius: I imagine many Jews are upset with Christianity, but Christianity doesn't condone violence upon the Jews, but rather honor. In Christianity the Jews are upheld as the chosen of God and in fact 99% of the first Christians were Jews first.
Any Christians in history who have opposed the Jews have acted outside of the New Testament commands.
I'm pretty sure you understand my points.
I kinda see the Christians as the guy you don't like marrying your daughter, but treating her and your grandchildren well, whereas the Mohammedan is the guy who beats the shit out of everyone regularly while simultaneously playing every bar in town.
