Just When You Thought That Political Correctness Couldn't Get Any Crazier...

...along comes THIS:
UK: Plastic bags to be put over "terror cameras" to avoid offending Muslims

Bags are to be put over scores of surveillance cameras in parts of Birmingham with large Muslim populations, after local objections.
Read the whole insane thing at Jihad Watch.

You can't make this shit up.

BTW, maybe an administrator here could add an appropriate graphic to this post.

And just in case, these people have a backup plan as well

Always On Watch,

Do these people not realize that they are defeating the purpose of the security cameras by doing this?

Bags? Hey, that's racist!

Better to be safe than sorry, UK. You'll want to put Burqas over those cameras and apologise for this unfortunate little insult right away.

I was kind of surprised that on WZ a number of folks said they want the cameras down. I can appreciate that they feel it is "Big Brother" watching.

But, I personally have no problem whatsoever with cameras in public places. I say bring 'em on. They make me feel safer, and they also help to solve crimes that are committed.

Now covering them up to not insult Moooslims, pisses me off to no end.

American Rose,
I think the cameras on street corners (and any public place) are anti-human. A zone of privacy is a human right whose time has come. People need to know that their moments are their moments, that they are not constantly monitored by candid camera, or else people will lose their ability to improvise like normal human beings. Being watched constantly is an impedence on human will.

We disagree Pasto.

When you leave your home, you have no right to privacy. That is the law.

Anyone can take a picture of me on a public street, and I can't say diddly.

I like police cameras. I want them everywhere.

I don't mind the cameras (except when I get a speeding ticket), but I doubt that the cameras are monitored very well.

However, the videotapes have their uses for security. After the fact.
