Bono Sucks Up To Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), the Man Who Advocated Killing Bono's Friend Salman Rushdie

Here's what Yusuf Islam said about Salman Rushdie:

New York Times story from May 23, 1989: "Cat Stevens Gives Support To Call for Death of Rushdie," by Craig R. Whitney (thanks to all who sent this in):
LONDON, May 22 -- The musician known as Cat Stevens said in a British television program to be broadcast next week that rather than go to a demonstration to burn an effigy of the author Salman Rushdie, ''I would have hoped that it'd be the real thing.'' The singer, who adopted the name Yusuf Islam when he converted to Islam, made the remark during a panel discussion of British reactions to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's call for Mr. Rushdie to be killed for allegedly blaspheming Islam in his best-selling novel ''The Satanic Verses.'' He also said that if Mr. Rushdie turned up at his doorstep looking for help, ''I might ring somebody who might do more damage to him than he would like.''
''I'd try to phone the Ayatollah Khomeini and tell him exactly where this man is,'' said Mr. Islam, who watched a preview of the program today and said in an interview that he stood by his comments.

Here's what Bono has said about Islam:
"I want to be very, very clear, however: I understand and agree with the analysis of the problem. There is an imminent threat. It manifested itself on 9/11. It's real and grave. It is as serious a threat as Stalinism and National Socialism were. Let's not pretend it isn't."

Bono is either a liar, a lunatic, or a hypocrite and/or a starfucker.

Which do you think it is?

Pastorius,

I don't know what Bono is, but he sounds like a hypocrite, unless he has no idea as to what was motivating those suicidal terrorists who flew those planes into those buildings on that tragic day.

That said, if Cat Stevens or "Yusuf Islam" as he wants to be called now needs to be told anything, its to go to Hell.

Anyway, does he still sing his own songs for a living? If he does other Jihadists might not be so happy with him. Aren't there a lot of Muslim fundamentalists out there who think that Music is sinful? I wonder if he realizes that, or has he given up on and would support putting people to death for doing what he used to do. What on earth convinced Cat Stevens to convert to Islam in the first place anyway? Why did he join the Jihad? If I was his Mom or Dad, I might have been proud of him before, but now, I'd probably be wondering what did wrong, when I brought him up as a child.

Well Pasto, I'm not sure if you're right cause he sure was willing to do that telephone commercial that didn't sound very Pisslamic. In fact, every time it came on I had to scramble for the remote to turn the channel, cause I can't bear to even hear his voice anymore. He also was scheduled recently to go on tour in the UK, cause I got into a huge battle over it on an article that announced it.

Frankly, I think he's willing to sing anything to make money for Islamic terrorism.

American Rose,
That commercial had an old recording in it.

That was not a new recording.

I didn't know it was an old recording, but he still had to consent to its use?

Pastorius said...

If he owns his songs.

A lot of artists do not own their own songs.

I don't understand Bono, but I am afraid that he is a typical performer who will say a little but not enough to have any effect, so as to not affect record sales.
He should know damn well that Islam is a murderous cult.
When U2 played at the inauguration of the Islam-pandering Bozo in Chief, I knew we had a problem.
Bono - when are you going to speak the truth? Islam is a bigger problem than starving in Africa right now.

Maybe for you. yeah, Mitch?

What's your point, Anonymous?
