At the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787, when queried as he left Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation someone asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
His reply was “A Republic, if you can keep it.”
Will we keep it?

Y'know, my friend, I count back 11 geenrations to when the first midnight rider set foot in New Amsterdam January 20, 1664.
11 generations.
If someone thinks they can take this republic away. . .
. . .they're going to have to fight all of us first.
I'm hopeful that we can keep our republic. However, our republic is being threatened as never before -- and from the inside.
