The first is that since neither "Western Sexuality" nor "Islamic Sexuality" exists in a historical vacuum completely isolated from the other, one or perhaps both of these (systems/domains/realms) may, to some degree large or small, be influencing the sexual character of the other. Perhaps negatively in the moral sense. If that is true, it may be helpful for study purposes to reframe the subjects in terms of "Western Sexuality On A Partly Islamized World" versus "Islamic Sexuality On A Partly Westernized World".
My second idea is that this influence may be incidental but it may also be intentional or "strategic" (i.e. memetic warfare).
Western Sexuality On A Partly Islamized World is at present about as richly varied as it gets. The west prides itself on being more or less tolerant of wide ranging creativity and in successfully accommodating a number of rather stark subdivisions in terms of individual conceptions of "right" "wrong" "natural" "moral" "kinky" "perverted" "fun" "healthy" etc. These all mix and match and merge as we see fit, with the final arbiter of what is ultimately "permissible" being the local and state laws. In other words, those dreaded "man made" laws.
Islamic sexuality On A Partly Westernized World, on the other hand, is pretty much the degree to which individual Muslims do exactly what Allah/Muhammad commanded. In reality this is coupled with the degree to which they can get away with not doing that.

I have not figured out the right words/phrases for what I am trying to portray. After all these years, I am not any closer.
