Dear Mr. Obama, please attack the tea party with an ad campaign

Over the weekend I read as how your democratic predecessor, one Bill Clinton, demonstrated that he knows what you don't. HOW TO BE PRESIDENT.

Amazingly he said the best thing for your hopes for 2012 was if the republicans got the House in 2010, because he recognized the possibility of a repeat of the overzealousness of 1995. And he is right, for short of that, it is very possible that in 100 years yours will be remembered as the first non white american presidential term, whose american-critical progressive social-justice one term agenda serves as the case study on generating political opposition so firm it changed the party history of america.

For well over a year, to the dem leadership and it's ideologically controlled media, the tea party has been a joke, or a terror, or George Wallace ..now it appears you are about to embark on a national ad campaign probably highlighting the individual peccadilloes and individual statements of those whom the tea party helped get nominated.

MAKE MY DAY.

The unending and continuous failure to understand the BASIC REASON this movement is GATHERING momentum is your undoing.

As Mr's. Schoen and Rasmussen point out in their FABULOUS new book the movement has three parts.

  • Newcomers to politics for whom your policies became the final straw. Angry and outraged.
  • Independents who feel betrayed by both parties (and they are) by 'out of control spending, big government, and a ballooning deficit and debt which they feel neither party has paid real attention to.'
  • Core republican conservatives.
No doubt you are going to focus on what you think the movement is, skinheads, witches, bible toting freaks and the 3rd group. No doubt your ads will feature the uninvited and unwelcome Lyndon LaRouche freaks who show up at tea party functions.
You will ignore that about a third of those in this movement voted for you, and you will not question what that means. You will ignore that one third are moderate or liberals and that a third are 'self identified democrats'.

You will completely miss that the existence of the tea party as a movement is based on the constitution, fiscal responsibility, and small unobtrusive, government, and you fail to comprehend that YOUR CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT, Obamacare is the ICONIC opposite of that.

So go ahead, and either make your ads based on Ms O'Donnell's high school experiments and Rand Paul's (dumb) reservations about where govt power ends and it's right to enforce equal opportunity begins, and miss why people have voted for the tea agenda (and how many times have democrats in a general election had a chance to vote on that?) .

Go ahead and miss what Mr. Rove missed, the meaning of someone like Ms. O'Donnell taking many years to pay off her college loans and having trouble with her mortgage. The people who walk into the voting booths understand what this says about her. And that she is willing to RUN ANYWAY. And what people like that running anyway means to those who think Washington HAS UTTERLY FAILED.

Instead, double down on the idea that you are the apotheosis of the large demanding federal invasiveness which is a good, and in telling us which color mayonnaise jar top we need to buy (even if we don't want mayonnaise this week, or ever) is helping us all to be equal and spread it around.

You just don't get it. You cannot get it.
Something is missing in you.

Great title. Like you said, Rove doesn't get it either. Many of these DC people can see only through Beltway eyes. They don't understand the American people anymore.

The above sentence seems true, right? I know it seems true to me.

Think about what it means. It means, those who represent us are the least likely to get us. They are not America. They are "the Beltway".

Maybe the Beltway should secede and then they can run a whole country.

Excuse me, I'm sorry, they are already think they do run a whole country.

Well then, let's not just kick them out of Washington, let's kick them out of the whole freaking USA entirely.

We don't need DC.
