UK: Hezbollah Supporters and Their Leftist Allies Stage al-Quds Day Protest in London
From Weasel Zippers:

Note all the Hezbollah flags…
Anti-Islamist counter-protesters from English Defense League showed up to support Israel.

The left loves to claim the EDL are neo-Nazis, here they are waving Israeli flags…
I would think you of all people would know better than to fall for that.
That's a good point, Babba. I copied this from Weasel Zippers. Those weren't my words.
I'll take it out.
However, I won't remove the EDL photo, because though I don't agree with the leadership of the EDL, they certainly are a better group than the UAF, and the idiot Lefties who are protesting in this march.
not "better"
merely "different"
at the core the behavior is the same on both sides
I don't conflate all evil down to one level on the political playing field. There are some things that are worse and some things that are better.
I have done quite a bit of reading on the EDL (meaning I have read every major article which has come out about their demos, and I read Hurry Up Harry, and I read Hope Not Hate), and I can not find any conclusive evidence that there is a movement towards violence within the EDL. The EDL's violence seems incidentals, whereas the violence of the UAF seems purposeful.
Now, I could be wrong in my judgement, but I don't think I am.
Certainly it is true that the UAF would blow up any story of a conspiracy towards violence within the ranks of the EDL were evidence to exist.

I am rolling my eyes here
everyone likes their own lies best.
a picture is worth a thousand words here

whole world knows what I think of this long time now no need to rehash
Babba,
Please do me the favor of discussing the issue with respect. When you accuse me of participating in a lie, it is not very respectful.
I did not say there are not bad people in the EDL. Nor, did I say bad people do not attend EDL marches and do bad things, like give the Heil Hitler salute.
What I said was, "The EDL's violence seems incidental, whereas the violence of the UAF seems purposeful."
It is my belief that the EDL does not want violence, while, for the UAF, violence is a matter of course.
I certainly am not happy about the fact that the EDL leader, Tommy Robinson, is a former BNP member. Most of the rest of the EDL leaders are also former BNP members.
I would say the same thing of these people that I have said of Filip DeWinter, Louis Farrakhan, and any other racist who claims not to be racist anymore; if you are no longer racist, then you have undergone a massive mental/emotional/spiritual pardigm shift, a conversion, so tell me your conversion story.
I doubt these guys have a conversion story, so I assume they are either outright racists, or they simply don't give a fuck about the issue of racism, which means they are not qualified to be leaders of people.
EVERYONE participates in lies
it was a ROYAL YOU
not YOU personally
you know what I think of thhis already there is nothing to discuss
Pastorius,
Would you please write an article summarizing your findings / opinions concerning the EDL?
BTW, I am inclined to laud the EDL. As I told the incredulous J. Imm, I have heard so many people / groups accused of racism by the Left, that I tend not to believe such accusations without hard evidence.
And, as we discussed, I do not see groups like the EDL as a singular entity. Parts may be violent, some leaders may secretly harbor such thoughts, incidental violence - as you said - may occur. I am more interested (perhaps my culturist bias is showing) in the group overall. Guilt via association with one person leaves me cold.
But, you've read so much more on this than I, I'd love and appreciate an analysis / summary of your findings.
John
