CAIR Comes Out In Favor Of Sharia Law For America: Files Lawsuit to Stop Oklahoma Sharia Ban

There's really nothing more to say about it. They have told us exactly where they stand.

Click on the title to get the whole story at Weasel Zippers:
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Nov. 3, 2010 — On Thursday, November 4, the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) will hold a news conference with religious and civil rights leaders in the State Capitol Building to announce the filing of a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of an anti-Islam ballot measure (State Question 755) passed in yesterday’s election. The measure amends the state constitution to forbid judges from considering Islamic law or international law when making a ruling.
Let us be clear, it is not simply that they are religious zealots. Sharia law is the law of the land in Saudi Arabia and many other Muslim countries. When a person, or a group of people advocate for the replacement of our system of law with that of another country, that is called Sedition.

These guys in CAIR ought to be hung by their necks until dead.

time for america to stand up and lead the world and stop appeasing anything that concerns islam. This is a country of free speech, freedom of expression and if we want to criticize what we see worldwide as islamic hatred, intolerance and violence and criticize sharia laws then that is our right. If muslims in america do not like criticism or us debating islamic values then go back to the desert of arabia. Here is america we question values, hoping to make them even more worthwhile and FAIR FOR ALL

Pastorius,

Unfortunately this probably still won't get some liberals to see CAIR for what it really is.

American's United for the Separation of Church and State actually thinks that it was a bad idea, and that its all just encouraging religious intolerance.

Sharia Charade: Oklahoma Ballot Measure Reflects Religious Intolerance

Normally I support Americans United, but not here. Yes the constitution already forbids things like Sharia, but the courts haven't been doing their Job when it comes Muslims trying to integrate Mosque and State, which was why this whole mess was necessarily. The person who wrote the commentary, Sandhya Bathija, says that "Oklahomans who really understand the Constitution should have no reason to fear that sharia law will ever be imposed by the government." That is only if you assume that the government is following the constitution in the first place. The disturbing truth is that in many instances, when it comes to Islam, they are not, and the courts sometimes go along, for one reason or another.

What the people of Oklahoma are doing by passing this thing is just confirming the Separation of Church and State, when comes to Islam. That is something that everyone at Americans United should proudly stand behind. I don't know if they realize just how many Muslims, even in America would love nothing more than for Sharia to replace our constitution, not all of them thankfully and hopefully not most of them, but clearly large numbers of them. If there wasn't a chance that activist Judges who ignore the constitution would side with Muslim fundamentalists, out of political correctness, or a desire to help the "oppressed minority" than this wouldn't be an issue in the first place.

Not to mention that the judges might side with Jihadists over the constitution for some other reason.

Oklahoma Sharia referendum could backfire.

Unintended consequence could be legalisation of Shariah

The status of Shariah was until recently undefined in the USA. However CAIR, the main American Muslim organisation, is filing a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of an anti-Islam ballot measure (State Question 755) passed in yesterday's election. The measure amends the state constitution to forbid judges from considering Islamic law or international law when making a ruling.

Given the dhimmi nature of the judiciary, it is likely that they will side with CAIR to avoid appearing 'Islamophobic' or 'racist' or unwelcoming to Muslims. If that happens, it will set a precedent that enshrines Sharia in American law.
