Where Is The Line Not To Cross?

With a hat tip to LA Sunsett of Political Yen/Yang:

For years, I have heard liberals condemn the security measures implemented after 9/11. They got mad when people were profiled. They claimed abuse of TSA agents, back when scanners were the modern invasive tool of choice. And they voiced much displeasure when they learned the government was listening to conversations of people, dirty rotten scoundrels, who had known connections to terror groups overseas.

Please make a note that it is not the Bush Administration doing this stuff to people.

Please note that their precious Democratic Party leadership (like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and now Chuck Schumer) are all quiet....not saying a thing.

Please note that while we want the airlines to be safe and efficient, we know that it's also a slap to the faces of every law abiding citizen who wants to be treated with dignity and respect.

Apparently the TSA is contending that it will not give anyone a pass on the nudie screener or the porn pat-downs on account of religious objections.

We shall see.

RRA,
I can't imagine that the TSA will stick to that that contention.

AOW,

I don't understand what's the whole hassle & bustle about the TSA !
My safety is my right and it comes ahead of all right of others !
I don't care if the screening or body-taping insults or embarrasses somebody! I don't mind being X-rayed or searched strip-naked as long as it is not performed by Helen Tomas !...

Now, the real issue:-
The whole operation costs gazillion Dollars a year, right?
Who pays for it?
Why isn't the bill handed to those with the pockets full of money and brains full of Koryan ? Huh?...

Alex,
I hear ya.

But HERE is some technical info about the scanners. Excerpt:

A normal X-ray image is a familiar sight—depending on the exposure, an X-rayed person typically appears only as a skeleton. This is because the X-rays used in those machines penetrate the skin and can only be absorbed by bone.

Unlike a medical X-ray, the TSA X-ray machines are a sci-fi fan's dream: they are lower-energy beams that can only penetrate clothing and the topmost layers of skin. This provides TSA agents with a view that would expose any explosives concealed by clothing. But according to the UCSF professors, the low-enegy rays do a "Compton scatter" off tissue layers just under the skin, possibly exposing some vital areas and leaving the tissues at risk of mutation.

When an X-ray Compton scatters, it doesn't shift an electron to a higher energy level; instead, it hits the electron hard enough to dislodge it from its atom. The authors note that this process is "likely breaking bonds," which could cause mutations in cells and raise the risk of cancer.

Because the X-rays only make it just under the skin's surface, the total volume of tissue responsible for absorbing the radiation is fairly small. The professors point out that many body parts that are particularly susceptible to cancer are just under the surface, such as breast tissue and testicles. They are also concerned with those over 65, as well as children, being exposed to the X-rays.

If I'd had breast cancer, I wouldn't want to be scanned.

This IS over the line.
THe govt is telling you that THEY and others know for your own good that they must render you sexually exposed or felt up.

More, it doesn't even matter if the majority feel this is proper since the entire Bill of Rights and much of the Constitution's purpose is not the functioning of the govt, but to protect the individual rights FROM the govt and FROM the majority.

This is ILLEGAL. The govt is acting ILLEGALLY, as illegally as when Wilson jailed people during WW1 because they disagreed with his policies.

It is the govt's AND AIRLINES' responsibility to find another way if they wish to conduct business.

STOP FLYING AMERICA and watch how fast another answer is found.

Hi Guys.
One source is saying they intend to install these machines everywhere not only airports!
So get ready for that balgame on sunday but you don't enter without screaning!
It's about total control,nothing less!

To all of you above !

1 - FYI , the machine in question doesn't work as an x-rays ( Roentgen ) machine! This is an ultrasonic device specially designed for this purpose same the machine used in maternity hospitals to see if the fetus has a "Ding Dong" between his legs !...

2 - It is the passengers prerogative to choose an alternative method of traveling, such as Camel convoy, submarine or a flying carpet "Air Saudia" !...

3 - It is my cosmic right to dig in all the rectums of the passengers on a Trans-Atlantic flight !
